  3. Car Bubble straight from China - Alibaba) Ordered 26.02.2025, recived today ( by sea transport) , total cost with transport 365 USD. (included shipping fee - 90 USD) I have from years working nonstop two original Caroccons (new from ordered) . So can tell main diffrences: Cacoon vs Carf Bubble (Alibaba) 1. doble layer but afer few yerars outer layer of Carcoon falls apart after a few years in use due to weather conditions (sun / frost). Car Bubble is made from one layer, thik and haevy PVC, will see how it detoriates. 2. Carcoon (outdoor) is available only in silver , Bubble - any colour You like 3. Carcoon floor is really thick PVC. Car Bubble - If not additionally paid - the same as bubble material. From experience, I will advise pay additonaly for thicker floor, as I did. 4. Zipper - Carcoon - plastic. In mine 2 carcoons lost some tooths during few years of use . Cause some back pain during zipping and unzipping... Car bubble - zipper is metal, but cant tell how it will stand during next years 5. Carcoon - defined sizez, Bubble - any size You want 6. Carcoon - no fixing points on outer layer, Car Bubble - possible to oreder additional fixing points 7. Carconn - significantlyh less power - energy consumption . I have measured with a tool - Carcoon - one 10W, second 7 W (both with two fans). Bubble - when two fans working : 32W, one fan 16-17W. 8. Carcoon - fixed two fans. Bubble - two fans, but possible to deattach one (one is enough to keep bubble pressurized, two for faster inflation) 9. Carcoon - much more quiet ! 10. carcoon - better arragement around fans, allowing air to flow, Bubble - easy to block air flow (I have added some foam to avoid this, easy but needed) 11. Carcoon - AC - DC power supply is located inside Carcoon, and have option for battery charging (to be hones, never used this option in any carcoon), just kill swithch and after winter cars started with no problems, 18Ah batteries). Car Bubble - two AC-DC power supply, one for one fan, looks more delicate than this in Cacoon, but will see. Will update differences after few Years So far I am going to try to fix and improve my oldest Carcoon - change the zipper to more robust, if posible change outer layer to more robust, not so fragile, keeping what best in it with low power consumption fans, and two layer construction. Will see it will find a proper craftsman willing to take on this challenge EDIT : Oh and one more difference - in Customer care - mine two carcoons I have orederd straigt from manufacturer in Uk , conatct was well , how to be polite... better will not write it there . 😕 . From China - I got pictures from productiuon , detailed questions regarding every detail, info via whatsup when floor was made, when outer, when tested (with pictures) , when shipped, when arrived to EU, etc etc. Even too much of this Customer Care (and no additional costs taxes / dutes / vat ets , as it was with Carccon) . My third Carcoon was orderd from Demon Tweaks (with staded " 2 weeks " - leading time. Aha.. sure, was few months and still "sorry we can not supply Your orded" ) . Canceled this order. On Alibaba leading time was stated correctly . No delay.

  7. Trying to help here - I’m guessing your issue is height? SeWs can be made more comfortable for the tall squad via lowered floors, thinner (GRF or CF) seats, reducing the steering wheel diameter and position it closer or further away and in extremis, getting a taller windscreen. The National Kit Car Show is next Saturday and Sunday at the Three Counties Showground near Malvern. I’d strongly advise you go, come to our outdoor stand, look at our cars and talk to their owners. You might even be able to try a few on for size. You’ll probably not get a better chance this year (weather permitting of course and fingers crossed).

  8. Hi! Try a few - it can be done and even relatively comfortable. I'm about 194cm, long legs and huge size 14 feet and my SEiW fits fine. I sat in a few cars that on paper were the same, but I didn't fit at all. Aim for T9 gearbox as mentioned above and top mounted pedals - my floors aren't lowered and I have Westfield Sports seats, so not wafer-thin. Good luck!

  9. From what I've learned in the past 5 years as WSCC member, for a decent Westfield you're gonna be looking at around 10k. A good one is 13k and upward. For 9k or less you'll be usually getting a more dated car which need some care to be reliable. Other kit car brands may fetch a bit less, but build quality might be an issue. As for the Cat owners "snobbiness", some time ago I did reply to a technical Duratec question on a Cat FB group. Got pinged on Messenger by an italian Cat owner which seemed very happy to show me his fabulous car and asked me which Cat model I did own... After telling him I did have a Westfield, I'm still waiting to hear from him again 🤣

  11. As others have mentioned, FW relates to bodywork not the chassis size. However, as the FW body is a later design, then it will be on an SEiW chassis and will almost certainly have lowered floors. Therefore it will likely be more suited to the taller owner. I say “likely” because being a kit car, you just never know!

  14. I'm not sure if it's the same on all Westfields but my drivers side cabin is wider than the passenger side, may be of relevance if sharing a car between two drivers

  15. Wide chassis cars with Kit, ZK and FW bodywork are basically the same. Transmission tunnels vary, type 9 gives the most seat/footwell width, then MT75, then SEight. Not sure where the mazda boxes fit in on the scale.

  16. Yep, mine has lowered floors and will soon have the JK Composites GRP seats fitted, more legroom and in my case more space behind the seats too, plus lower CofG of course. They hold you so much better on corners too, really does make driving them hard a bit easier and safer.

  17. Yes we have sat in multiple widebodys.. We can make those work though some have higher 'on rail seats' where I would probably choose a floor mount, tillet style seat option.. dropped floors would be even better but then the list of available cars shrinks to zero. So beggars cant be choosers. Basically with the SEIW there is easily enough length which is the limiting factor. I am 190cm so a hair under 6'3" I think.. My bike accident(s) seems to have taken a bit out of one leg.

  18. Yes for a later style westfield widebody, I am coming round to that also now.. Looked at a great little R6 Tiger, 2l zetec, lightened flywheel, and presented like a really good quality built car.. In the 6xxx's and if I fit in it, I would own it already.. But the tigers just dont work, the early westfields / narrowbody's dont work, no idea on some of the others (dax, MK Indy, MAC1) fit like but what initially appeared to be a long list of options has now shrunk the more I look at. Been all over the south, SW, and wales this week. Theres some older xflow cars in my saved folder but I think the budget may need a upward revision for my desires. You just seem to get so much more car once its 10 and up. Doesnt help that my UK time each year is so short.. Few more weeks and its past the halfway point and I start thinking about leaving again.

  21. I decided to go along to this last night and glad I did. I watched some of the Caterham races and took part in the lunchtime parade lap which was fun. I met another Westfield owner who I think said had driven from Bath area, his car was an early narrow se in green but his had a Zetec in it,

  25. Carrot, that’s just being silly, blind man on a galloping horse can see it’s a triple level garage - there’s three different cars - one on each level - identifiable due to the positioning of the number plates - level 1 car is the same car as the last photo 🤨

  38. Life is too short to worry what a certain group of drivers may think. Last year when I visited the National Kit Car show I was impressed by the presence of the WSCC and the community of people. I had visions of car meet ups and a big social scene, however most of the time I get with my car is a run out of the malverns headed west. It puts a smile on my face every time and that is all that matters. So no matter which car you get as long as your smiling and having fun then in the words of Metallica "Nothing Else Matters". Enjoy the journey!
