Likewise, I am ‘house bound’ currently and didn’t go in. Been tough/impossible to get out this week. TBF I did make a significant effort last year!!! Would be good to see it continue.2 points

Come on folks, doesn't anyone drive to work anymore? (I don't 😆) Where are all the photos from last week? @Quinten I can run this event next year, would be a shame to lose it...2 points

It’s not an easy one to answer as they are both very different and I built the Westfield myself (then developed it for 9 years). All I can say is that right now I love the Lotus and don’t regret the decision, but do occasionally think it would be nice to have the sheer chuckability* of a “seven” when out with a group of them! * translates as super light, nimble and very quick in tight corners.2 points

Complete front brake setup from a 2006 factory build car, includes anti rattle clips bolts etc. Only removed as I have upgraded to Wilwoods. Calipers pistons and bleed nipples free and work as they should. Pads and disc done less than 1k miles. Disc's are the Westfield grooved disc's Collection preferred from CW11 Sandbach, or can meet up. £150ono2 points

That's very kind of you, though unfortunately I'll be in my tin top and not the Westfield. I'm spending 2 nights in Zell, it was lovely last year and then travelling down to Venice for 2 nights, for our 25th anniversary. 👍2 points

Yip stunning. I'm addicted to Alpine road trips now. Back in September and doing some of the Dolomites too. I'll be travelling from Zell am See to Venice, so might pass that very spot2 points

My 9 year old loves going out in mine. I took him to football practice a few weeks back and at the end all his friends were taking turns sit in. They loved hanging on the roll cage to climb in.2 points

Please see below for details. Glen and I will be there from 10am for our usual area meet and there will be a run out for WSCC members after breakfast if the weather permits. The £10 charge only applies for people wanting to visit the museum. Parking, access to the cafe and toilets is free to all. Hi Julie, We would like to invite your members to an exclusive event for the owners of Lotus, Caterham and Westfield cars on June 15th here at The Great British Car Journey. Since opening in May 2021, we have been awarded a TripAdvisor Excellence Award, three Peak District & Derbyshire Tourism Awards Visit and are also a Visit England Quality Assured Attraction. Our attraction houses a collection of over 140 British cars from the early 1900s to the early 2000s. The collection begins in the early 1900s right up to the current day and there's everything in between - Austin Sevens, Minis, Morris Minors, Triumph Spitfires, Ford Escorts, etc. - marques and models that have long since disappeared from our roads but are remembered fondly by many car enthusiasts. As the name suggests, visitors experience not just a car museum but an interactive nostalgic journey celebrating the heyday of British motoring. As well as our superb collection, we offer ample on-site car parking and a licensed café - The Filling Station, which offer a range of catering options to suit all budgets, from breakfast rolls to brunch, buffets to burgers. Our themed event days such as the one on June 15th, offer the chance not only to take the museum tour at a huge discount, but visit the outside attractions, and refuel yourself in the Filling Station Cafe too. Simply click the link below to pre-pay tickets at £10 per person (usually £19.50 on the door). https://online1.venpos.net/ConsumerSite/ShowPage?LID=632&PID=f7cdb0df-93df-4ede-abef-0502633a56f3 Please feel free to share the link with your members and fellow enthusiasts. We look forward to seeing you on the day Kind regards Ian Shaw Who is joining us?1 point

Carrot, that’s just being silly, blind man on a galloping horse can see it’s a triple level garage - there’s three different cars - one on each level - identifiable due to the positioning of the number plates - level 1 car is the same car as the last photo 🤨1 point

Yeah we loved it last year spent 2 nights, same as this year. Our hotel gave us a summer card, which gave us free entry to loads of things, it was amazing and a complete contrast to Switzerland for value for money. We had a snowball fight in the morning and down to the lido for a swim in the lake in the afternoon (all free), awe the memories 😍 The snow was quite deep on the Gross last year!1 point

I love Zell, had some great summer evenings around Crazy Daisy while testing cars at Gross Glockner - hope to go back one day 😍1 point

Don't hesitate to pm me if you are travelling around here. It would be a pleasure for me to show you some nice places and enjoy a little bit of road together. 😄1 point

Thanks for the excellent responses, already loving the community. So it sounds like these are excellent cars to slot in to family life 🙃 I live in a fairly rural location so can’t wait to go for b road errands. thanks all!1 point

Similarly here. Plenty of family commitments (eleven year old plus two grown up children) plus a full time job, so taking too much time out is not possible. I’ve managed quite a bit in May with Haynes, Cornwall and Malvern, but aside from those I try to take the car to our monthly meets which are nearly an hour away, and often take my daughter to her Saturday morning dance lessons in it too, just to get out for a bit. She tolerates it just to humour me I think 🤣1 point

There is still people that despite buying a kit car will discard q plates (coz someone once said it and now looks like you know your **** if you put no q plates)... And then they come crying that their throttled bodied kit car will melt cats and will not pass emissions. Go and figure if they see the cat marker. The car is absolutely lovely and with this engine is only a set of pistons/rods away to be on the 265hp region. A cheap racecar project, a perfect sunday driver as it is. I still miss the absolutely brutal delivery of my old sbd redtop and every time i see one of those for sale i want it. Sadly i cant Good luck with the sale!!1 point

If you are coming either Saturday or Sunday and can give us just a couple of hours we would appreciate it. You would recieve a free volunteer t shirt and breakfast if your staying over. We really need your help! Reply on here with the day your coming and we will be in touch. Cheers Martin.1 point

There were 3 Andy's, Dave, Ann and us meeting at Quacker's cafe for breakfast Quacker's car park We took off onto the sweeping bends of the Peak District with lovely views along the way, feeling cooler than expected. We arrived at Bike and Boot, Hathersage for the lunch stop. Bike and Boot car park Andy Westwood was wearing a nice hat that would match @aeg's car perfectly, so we thought we would taunt him with it😁 Inside Bike and Boot Glen and I had paella, what a treat from the usual cheese sandwich These two can't half eat Next we went for cake at the Pavillion, Baslow with a slight diversion when I lost all of you, waved as you all drove towards us 🤣but we got there in the end. It was a bit full because there was a 'colour run' event on, with children running on the sports field covered in coloured powder paint. We made good of a bad situation when Julie spied the home baked cakes, here they are! 'Well what happens to these, are they for sale?' I asked. The lady kindly replied 'yes, shortly, they will be £1 a slice to raise funds for the local school' Well it's rude not to join in, so the inevitable happened..... Best of it is we had already been eating cake from the cafe, Glen here laughing at all the Andy's as he was served the biggest slice by far It was a great day out, I hope we helped our new member's out with the cooling of the Sigma engine. Delighted that we were when we found out Andy and Ann were from Yorkshire, stolen right from under @Robin Parker (Red Spider) - Yorkshire AO's nose 😀. Thanks for coming everyone, see ya all next time XX1 point
