Dear car enthusiasts, My name is Tim, I am 35 years old and live in the Leuven region, Belgium. Since childhood, I have had a soft spot for lightweight sports cars. So at 25, I fulfilled a dream for myself by buying a Lotus Exige. A fantastic period followed during which I was active in the Lotus scene. During those years, I regularly came across Caterhams and other Super 7 models - cars that managed to fascinate me time and again with their pure driving experience and unique looks. After a difficult goodbye to the Exige came another big adventure: an intensive home renovation. But still the itch remained. The passion for sports cars and the desire to take fun trips again kept lurking in the background. Recently I stumbled upon a Westfield that had been for sale for a while. At first sight, it did not immediately appeal to me: RHD and in terms of looks not quite my cup of tea. But after some thought and negotiation, I decided to take the plunge. I see it as a project I can put my passion into again - step by step I want to turn this Westfield into something beautiful. I am looking forward to sharing experiences, getting tips and who knows, one day hitting the road together! Car Greetings, Tim My ex-Lotus: - 2011 Lotus Exige S Roger Becker Special Edition - Roger Becker numbered plate No 84 out of 200 worldwide - Roger Becker signature on side car - Aspen White - Full option package includes: Sport + Touring + Performance + Blackstyle Pack 1.8L Supercharged 2ZZ engine 6-speed S gearbox Lotus variable slip traction control system (LTCS) Torque-sensitive limited slip differential (LSD) Pumped clutch plate and cover Dual oil coolers Lotus Launch Control ABS with power brakes Lotus Performance Stage II Exhaust Larini De-Cat pipe Translated with DeepL.com (free version)4 points

Westfield SEIW – 1996 kit, registered 01 May 1997 Complete nut and bolt rebuild 2015 – 2017, back to bear chassis re powder coat etc Folder full of receipts going back to 1996 when car was purchased from Westfield. Very little use since, has only been used for springs and very few road miles. The car is an absolutely stunning build, the quality and attention to detail are second to none in my opinion. Its a proper ground up professionally built car. I have been around westfields on and off for several years and not seen one anywhere near as nicely built. The car was built for sprints and hillclimbs but i have added some parts to make it useable for trackdays such as a larger fuel tank and oil cooler and added a passenger seat, i still have the smaller fuel tank and pipework to not run the oil cooler if someone was wanting to use it for sprints again and be as light as possible. The car has just been for a full health check at northampton motorsport after a small running issue which turned out to be the fuel pump, this included also- map check, compression check, bore scope and all found to be in excellent condition with paperwork saying so. Can you believe it is a decade already? 🎂 For the 10th year in a row, May the 24th is the official National Drive Your Westfield to Work Day, which contrary to the title is actually a week where we encourage you to leave the normal daily driver at home and experience driving the Westfield to your place of work, raising smiles on both your face, and those who join you in the daily drudge. Of course, some of you may no longer frequently travel to a place of work (lucky you!) so like previous years, you can also get creative and get a picture of yourself with your Westfield! A selfie, a picture taken by a member of your family... as long as it is a previously unposted recent picture, everything is submittable! You have the week from the 19th to the 25th to participate 👍 Have a look at previous years: 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018 and 2017 for inspiration. Sadly I can find nothing for the 1st year, 2016, so you just have to take my word for it .1 point

Deep fried is fine but battering children is frowned upon these days. Mind you, never did me any harm. Perhaps that's where we're going wrong... Wibble...1 point

This new steering rack was fitted by Siltech in February to my Westfield, never been used on road, decided to go back to 2.4 ratio (what I previously used). Threads have been cut back 10mm by Siltech, images shows thread length. Alloy rack mounts machined by Siltech to suit HD rack. They fit nice and snug. Rack cost me £220, mods to alloy mounts £50. So it owes me £270. Happy to split. Rack £150 Alloy mounts to match £20 collection preferred by can post for £10 Parts at CW11 1DX thanks Andy1 point

Hi All, I've finally dug my car out from under the sheet it's been under for far too long and put it in the garage. Cleaned it up as best I can for now and start the long slog to get it running again. Hopefully be able to get it to the point of meeting up at some point soon. Tim1 point

From what I've learned in the past 5 years as WSCC member, for a decent Westfield you're gonna be looking at around 10k. A good one is 13k and upward. For 9k or less you'll be usually getting a more dated car which need some care to be reliable. Other kit car brands may fetch a bit less, but build quality might be an issue. As for the Cat owners "snobbiness", some time ago I did reply to a technical Duratec question on a Cat FB group. Got pinged on Messenger by an italian Cat owner which seemed very happy to show me his fabulous car and asked me which Cat model I did own... After telling him I did have a Westfield, I'm still waiting to hear from him again 🤣1 point

Lumbar support fitted today. I've used these on my campervan and they made such a difference to my back so I thought I'd give it a try: There are 2 backrest straps to hold the bag in the perfect position. I found however that when it was pumped up it pushed backwards more than forwards. So I added a piece of lightweight 3mm plywood. Refitted the seat back and sat on it in the kitchen it feels good !1 point

@Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative Happily there's no need as I put the seat in the car and the engines in and a had it's first start yesterday.😀 So far so good. A little wet patch on the garage floor this morning. I had the wheels off yesterday and annoyingly found this : Off to book it in for repair. 😩0 points
