  2. I'm same age but sold my BEC last year. I do miss it at times but I prefer my Zetec turbo Westie these days. And it's quicker than my GSX-R1000 BEC was. Had them both for a couple of years but someone made me an offer I'd have been stupid to turn down so the Exo BEC now has a very happy life in Cornwall

  3. My exo was only 462kgs. My Westie is still quicker though as has 100+ more bhp and massively more torque at 270lbsft. It's also a LOT more civilized but doesn't sound or rev the same obviously. 12,500rpm screaming through the gears with the Flatshifter is something I'll remember forever! 😂😂😂

  4. Just a reminder that it's time for the next meeting tomorrow, at The Falcon, Birmingham Road, Hatton, CV35 7HA, from around 7.30pm. Hopefully, the weather will play ball and allow a good turnout of cars! Don't forget about the A46 closure! Check your route if you normally use the A46. See you there!

  5. Good turnout tonight and great to see you all again, including @Martyn Vann - Warwickshire AO’s car looking excellent, we’re all very pleased to have it back in our midst. The area’s Rock / Paper / Scissors Champion was also decided and a prize awarded. The Wench finally back on the road for the first time in 8 months and performing well. 👍

  6. They really are light them exo's with a bike engine I never realized does make my 500 kg westie a bit of a fatty maybe I will get ride of the 5kg batt which I don't need and the westie reverse box or maybe I'll just stop eating burgers.

  7. Those Exo Busa cars are mental! I remember seeing a supercharged one at Stoneleigh, I dread to think how quick that was.

  8. Yeah, it was a very special car that Asbo. The original one made and I've never driven any kit that rides bumps so well. The handling was amazing and the sequential shift with a Flatshifter was just stupendous on the road. If I were a young man still I'd have kept it for ever.

  9. Looks like I’ve finished it !!! (well, still need to work on the corner weight, but I've set the rest of the geometry), but I’m almost afraid to say it (finished) ... because whenever I do, something turns out to need reworking and time flies. It has flown by so fast that I feel older and less eager for a machine that is definitely more extreme than the Westfields I used to drive. And now I don’t know if I’ll be able to ride it; it really seems fast (Honda CBR 1000RR, 192 horsepower, 129 Nm). After short run around home today, to bring temperatures to working area, check brakes etc.. brrrr it was sometimes scarry and loud, very loud (it has smal motocycle silencer )

  11. I sold a 430kg Exo Busa powered BEC a couple years ago. The busa car I remember being insane. But I really need to do a track day at croft in the 7 to see which one I'm truly quicker in. The 7 is way more practical with a proper reverse and I feel much better taking the kids in the 7. I sold the exo as I just didn't feel comfortable taking the kids in it. I do miss the busa car, and I've another engine which I'm hoping maybe one day I'll build another one.

  12. I do believe they are considerably heavier than a 7 the blade engine puts out similar bhp to the gsxr at 180 but my car weighs just 500 kg so can imagine it may be quicker than an exo not that it really matters fast is fast in anything.

  17. Such a shame they allow such small numbers each day. This used to be a much better event! I hope Nigel is still allowed to attend. Thanks @John Dolan - Wirral & North Wales AO for continuing to represent WSCC at the event!

  21. Selling due to lack of use, its mint. 2.0 Zetec blacktop. Engine was replaced a few years ago, its covered around 3k miles i would say. Currently has 12880 on the clock. Ive had it 2 years and had a new clutch, new diff. Its on twin webers which run perfectly. 2 fat folders worth of history down to nuts and bolts used on the build. It had a mini restoration by a previous owner a few years ago, which i have aprox 100+ photos from. New suspension brakes, and the engine. Ive covered probably 600miles in the two years ive had it which just isnt enough for me justify keeping it. I know i will regret it massively.. WAS £11950 NOW £11000

  24. Almost 2 years since this was on the road, it feels great. I was thinking about how times change - 20 years ago by comparison with most normal cars it was light and quick, but now it's tiny, light and still quick. Almost more fun than ever, because it makes small roads feel reasonably sized again!
