Afternoon everybody my name is Mark, and I have taken on the role lately of area organiser for the north east. I am hoping to put together along with help of some other members some meets and runs out for members to get involved in through out this year and will hopefully be documenting this throughout. I am looking at starting our local meets again as of Tuesday the 15th of April with the venue being church mouse , Chester moor, chester le street DH2 3RJ 7pm This venue has been used several times in the past so feel it's a good starting point to gauge interest . I am looking forward to hopefully seeing some you northeast lads there and seeing if we can hopefully bring the Westfield/kit car scene back to the north east thanks Mark4 points

Just been informed that we will be there tomorrow. Had it been left up to me I would have been in the garden still, chopping up trees.3 points

After owning my Westfield Sei with a crossflow engine for three years, and after spending a lot of time thinking, meditating, and stressing over whether I should restore it or upgrade it by swapping the crossflow engine for a Zetec or Sigma, I’ve finally decided to start by restoring and upgrading the chassis, body, interior, and other parts. I’ll also restore the crossflow engine and see if, with all these improvements, the car brings me enough satisfaction. As the car stands today, it has a lot of problems. For starters, there are some fumes coming from I-don’t-know-where, but by the end of a drive, I always need a shower. The braking system isn’t working properly, the pedals have too much play and move around — which feels a bit dangerous. I’m also quite short (1.65 m), and I can’t reach the pedals properly without a cushion. On top of that, the electrical system and switches look old, and the speedometer doesn’t work very well. So as you can see, I have a lot of work ahead of me. So here is my build — or better said, restoration — diary. I’ll start with the electrics, and I’ll try to complete each task as I go, while also doing some things in parallel to shorten the overall timeline of the project.2 points

Julie's away but I don't want to miss the brilliant weather forecast so would love it if any of you like minded people would like to tag along. Appreciate that it is Kitfest this weekend but looking at the ticket prices, I hope that you went on the much cheaper Saturday so able to come out with us on the Sunday Start Matlock McDonalds (DE4 3AU) at 10.30am. After a coffee or Big Mac Meal (if you are @aeg) drive via Youlgrave, Ashford in the Water, Monsal Head, Wardlow, Bradwell, Winnats Pass to have lunch in The Ramblers, Edale (S33 7ZA) - about 1hr 10 based on TomTom thrill settings. After lunch for those who want more... Edale, Hope, Brough, Hathersage, Grindleford, Calver to end up at Baslow Cricket Club Cafe (DE45 1SP) for cake, ice cream or coffee (or all three). Take photos of cake and send to @Andy Westwoodas he is 'working'. About 35min again based on TomTom thrill settings. Who is up for it??1 point

Hi John, Last year I used Toyo R888Rs or Uniroyal Rainsport 5 if damp/wet/cold (a list 1a tyre but very good for those conditions). I've held off buying new for this year and this weekend at Anglesey see if anything looks much better for 2025.1 point

Sounds like a fab route. Unfortunately my car is still without an engine for a few more weeks ☹️0 points
