  1. An export to PDF or even a print whole thread option would be nice.

  2. I too have a (too) yellow SEiW and ended up buying a set of plastic protectors that have been attached with fixing rather that adhesive - I’ve done approx 1,000 miles so far & still look good, but my plan is to wrap them with carbon effect vinyl when needed. and the screen & roll bar are to change to Black over next few weeks πŸ‘

  4. Ever since I'm a 2-V8 household, I've become subject to range anxieties . Glad to hear it is mostly not needed to worry. The numbers are stops. The moon icon ones are stays. Think the total nights is 16 nights, but 5 of those are in Spa.

  5. We've not visited that part of the Alps, hence will follow your trip with interest. If you're a squad of 6 cars, I'd worry even less about running out of fuel etc. Are the numbers 1-22, days? Good to plan no more than 6 hours each day. With stops etc, that will be plenty.

  6. It's my son who's doing all the planning, and there will be 6 of us in a mix of cars. The above is the current plan with each overnight stay extended to 2/3 days to also enjoy a little R&R between the stays. I believe each leg between stays is about 6 hours driving maximum, taking some of France's most beautiful/scenic roads.

  7. As above, you'll be fine. Just use your Satnav to find fuel. Having done 6 Euroblats with 4 cars (3 on the 1st one), we've usually carried at 5L fuel can between us but have never run out. @Stu Faulkner did need to use it to stop fuel surge during his Turbo era (he's grown out of that now). We've never been questioned at any ferry crossing if the fuel can was empty or full. I've seen a flat 5L fuel container (waiting for the buyer to send me a link for you), that fitted behind a seat (won't fit behind yours @Quinten as I suspect you run with it fully back. Happy to have a chat about your Alps plans to share routes, passes, hotels, experience etc.

  8. I’ve done a couple of these trips now and I used my fuel can once I think. 5ltrs got me out of trouble. I based the driving on aim to fill up every 100 miles. One day I saw nearly 150! Plenty of garages about, you should be ok enjoy 😊

  11. This is raising a good point for the taller ones amongst us. My head is above the seat headrest and also above the decorative roll bar. So I'm not in a good place to crash. Once I've fitted the MSA bar that I'm currently stepping over in the garage, I'll have a nice cross bar to smack my skull into.... Some decent padding sounds like a good move.

  12. Not sure if all that effort and gymanstics is worth it . Hope so ! (2.98 longer 1st gear, new synchros bearings seals etc in gearbox, new UJs in proposhaft, and 4.3 vs 8 kg flywheel), new steering rack etc. But if started must end ..

  13. In many ways, a Seven is a 4 wheeled motorbike. Assume the defensive approach at all times as you ARE more vulnerable. Been driving ours 34 years now. So far, the only accident happened when it was parked and unoccupied.

  14. What have I learned over the years of driving a 7 car- Lights on at all times. Leave a larger gap between yourself and the car in front, also when in a queue stationary. Soft grippy tyres fitted, ie PS3 or Rainsport 5 tyres. No point in having a standard hood, it's claustrophobic and condensation aplenty in cold weather, dress appropriately in bad weather. Be courteous on the road, especially in your home town, other drivers will know who you are very quickly in an open unusual car.

  15. Interesting topic. Thankfully I've had quite a lot of defensive driving training/coaching over the years which definitely helps. I have had a few near misses in mine where people have pulled out, however I am certain that had I been in the daily I'd have had a collision. The braking, acceleration, agility, and small size (the car, not me!) have combined to get me out of the situation and avoid a potential crash. Motorways take a bit of getting used to though.... being lower than the top of a truck tyre is a little surreal initially πŸ˜‚
