What have I learned over the years of driving a 7 car- Lights on at all times. Leave a larger gap between yourself and the car in front, also when in a queue stationary. Soft grippy tyres fitted, ie PS3 or Rainsport 5 tyres. No point in having a standard hood, it's claustrophobic and condensation aplenty in cold weather, dress appropriately in bad weather. Be courteous on the road, especially in your home town, other drivers will know who you are very quickly in an open unusual car.6 points

That's weird. That posted 3 times and I can't figure out how to delete them so have had to hide them. Now a super-mod is gonna think I'm massaging my forum stats! 😳3 points

Hi @Jimbo93, I've dropped you a PM on this. I know the car, it was owned by a former WSCC member (and friend of mine) in 2022 and it was on the WSCC club stand at Newark that year. Not sure why it's not got much history as it was supplied by Toybox previously. I don't recall any issues with the car, James only sold it to upgrade to a more track focused car. Here's a photo of it next to my red car at Newark. Another parked up at The Car Crowd.3 points

In many ways, a Seven is a 4 wheeled motorbike. Assume the defensive approach at all times as you ARE more vulnerable. Been driving ours 34 years now. So far, the only accident happened when it was parked and unoccupied.2 points

I've not gone trough the whole dissertation in the tread... but... if that bothers you, get another car. Yes you are vulnerable. But not more that a motorbike, or a cyclist... I personally don't use the seven on the road for anything else than going to the shops or to the pub every once in a while, precisely for the above. Before buying one, go on a ride as a codriver, and see how you feel. nothing else will give you the experience.1 point

Hi all, I recently just got myself a Westfield from auction. The original owner built himself and it has 4k miles. Great to find this place! I am not familiar with all the body styles / models(?) of Westfield so if anyone can share information about what I have that would be great! here’s what I think I have: - 1999 SEi - 2.0 mountune built zetec on Jenvey throttle bodies - mt75 gearbox / LSD1 point

not yet been able to get round to anything, but did manage to speak with the builder about the build (the bat auction seller was a broker). Plan right now while the weather is poor will be to ‘make it my own’ with a few mods. I just put twin turbos on my dodge challenger so may look at forced induction for the zetec. i met a guy on USA7 who was auto crossing so may also look into that. otherwise long drives on twisty roads1 point

Absolutely the reason i am here. i haven’t had the chance to drive the vehicle yet, Michigan weather is not permitting yet (snow). The seller did indicate that the front lifts/goes light at >85mph so I figured the setup will need checking. Assuming shocks are readily available this side of the pond otherwise a care package from the UK will likely be needed1 point
