  2. I added a full cage on mine, mainly for safety but I think it actually adds to the look of the car too!!

  3. I've not gone trough the whole dissertation in the tread... but... if that bothers you, get another car. Yes you are vulnerable. But not more that a motorbike, or a cyclist... I personally don't use the seven on the road for anything else than going to the shops or to the pub every once in a while, precisely for the above. Before buying one, go on a ride as a codriver, and see how you feel. nothing else will give you the experience.

  5. That’s +1 for @Robin Parker (Red Spider) - Yorkshire AO and +1 for Yorkshire! What a shame you didn’t go a little bit north while you were there and picked up Cockermouth and Great Cockup!

  6. Just tried looking up the reg of that pictured car and the gov site returns a Citroen C5?! So I suppose that could be my car, with the reg changed somehow/for some reason?

  7. 2023 I paid £156, 2025 £170, with AIB, 60+ years old but the car has a lot more bhp than the type of Westfield you are looking for.

  8. I used to pay 170 with Adrian flux with 5 trackday included which I thought was amazing. Unfortunately some peeps must have stuffed it as they now don't have a policy like that any more so on the shop around now getting 150 for without track cover

  9. I've heard back from The Motorist and they can offer us a dedicated space. Numbers of cars are needed a week before the event (21st February) and the time we will be arriving. Please let me know ASAP and I'll pass on the information. Thank you.

  10. I didn't but think it may have been a factory option or otherwise professionally applied, as my car is exactly the same re:stripes and hood as the below car (which isn't my car as far as I'm aware). https://www.softbitsshop.co.uk/half-hood-for-caged-roll-bar-671-p.asp

  12. And , just thought (don't be put off by this ! ,in fact, at least for me and looking at plenty build threads there, not only for me , that it's part of whole fun with all that "kitcaring") - apart fom safety vs trucks and SUV's, there is another area of safety in used kitcars - for example : cracked fuel tubes, inproper fuel lines clamps, rusted suspension elements , undone suspension, propshaft or driveshaft bolts, air in brake lines, poor aligment, rust everywhere ... etc etc. So worth to consider choosing from who You are buing, or (better but takes some time) take almost whole car apart and put togheter with lot of fresh parts - You will know what You have that way and gain confidence of (kit)car.

  13. I would agree with everything above. My only additional thought would be to either get one with a high level brake light on the roll bar or add one - people tend to look over the car and if they're too close in a Chelsea tractor they won't see your brake lights coming on...

  14. As others have said above you need to drive as you would a motorbike. Extremely rewarding to drive, but be very aware of your ability and know your limits.....if you have an 'off' it likely won't end well..... I've nearly been put into the armco twice on dual carriageways, so you need to be very observant when overtaking in the outside lane.....looking for idiots that cannot use a wingmirror properly. Get in the habit of triple checking indicators aren't left on too.... Drive with lights on all the time too. One more observation...when driving on undulating roads, it can be difficult to safely overtake....you are sat so low down, visibility ahead us nowhere as good as when sat higher in a tiptop. Awesome fun though....you won't regret it!

  15. Have you tried one out? See who is around your local area who would take you out for a trial blat. I'm an ex-motorcyclist so the Westfield is quite enclosed compared to a bike. The thing i love about it is the openness of it. I drive without doors unless the weather is filthy. Being able to look at the road going past just next to you is brilliant. It is a small very low car and can be missed by the unobservant. Keep lights on and drive defensively, keep to the sensible assumption that pretty much every other driver out there is an idiot who is trying to kill you. A noisy exhaust helps draw some attention to you. Find empty twisty roads, put your foot down and suddenly it'll all make sense...
