  1. Just had this on the dyno before its track day at blyton and then its first rally of the season. Found 20hp just by bypassing the clogged air filter! Great day to be a Triumph fan

  4. Orange is just really bright brown and that's science!

  5. Evidence suggests you can indeed say that. From the evidence that most Westfields are not blue, you also appear to be wrong. /red is clearly the best

  6. Thanks for the mention @Stuart Davis AO - Devon Cornwall & Somerset it was not just pink... it was double pink 😜 I did not choose blue it was just the best car I found at my budget. it was the refurb on the wheels in gold that changed it.. I'm on my second set of decals, used to have side stripes .When you get bored You can change it. be brave on wheel colour (I say brave I just copied Subaru 😁) think about how you can to break up the colour you choose as that's part of it

  10. Thanks for the info Steve. I have a habit of saying it is no secret why I am the size I am, and that it took a lot of expense in chocolate and pies to get here! 😟 I know I can lose weight. Prior to Covid I lost over 40kg through diet and exercise. I kept this off through most of Covid but somewhere around the last lockdown I lost the plot and it has crept back up since then. I have a kind of ‘switch’, so can be quite polarised in that I’m either on it or not. Hopefully I will re find my way and get back on it, I will certainly be much more comfortable in the car when I do, and it might even go faster 🤣. The car isn’t going anywhere, I’m committed to it so will just have to ensure I can get into it more comfortably in future…. So, if you see me, don’t offer me cake! 🤪🤣 BTW, this is my motivation to do it again! I know that I can. I might even iron the shirt next time, I didn’t need to in the image on the left!

  11. Nah, a recent poll last year showed that orange was the most popular kit car colour. I voted 52,376 times mind you 😁 From memory, blue came second. Same as it does on the road in a race with an orange car 🤣

  12. Evening all. Sorry to be a bore but I'd love to hear your opinion/experience on how you feel on the road around other (much heavier) cars. I'm currently looking for my first westfield and it's not exactly easy to ignore the fact that you are very vulnerable on the road. What's your experience with it? Does it take some enjoyment away from the drive or do you simply avoid busy roads? Have you had incidents/close calls that stopped you using it? The idea of getting one is very exciting, but this is always in the back of my head, particularly thinking about family at home and whether there's a selfish aspect to it. Probably a bit dramatic but you know what I'm getting at. Cheers

  14. I have somehow managed to hide these from myself over the years but I have a few ZK Nose cone brackets going spare if anyone is interested. Brand new never fitted just well hidden. £10 posted to those interested or £5 if you want to collect from Warrington or the Cheshire meet.

  21. I have to personally thank Tesco for helping me quit my Cadbury Dairy Milk habit. I refuse point blank to pay 5 quid for the newest biggest bar of 360 grams. I have over the last year carefully watched Tesco set us all up for this adduction by price controlling and manipulation with their 'fake' discount offers. It's absolutely disgraceful what they get away with doing to their customers in the pursuit of yet even more billions in profit.

  22. Obviously this is a personal choice but my daughter and my ex have both lost tonnes of weight on those so-called 'skinny jabs' around 30kgs each so far. You can get them online privately fairly easily now. Might be worth investigating at least @Stuart Davis AO - Devon Cornwall & Somerset?

  23. @jimbo93 I see you are in my area. I’m in Crewkerne but we have plenty of members on the area, including one in Dawlish. We meet in Cullompton once a month and will start more activity as the weather improves. If you want to see a few cars then I’m sure we could sort that out at some point fairly soon, possibly one of the Saturday breakfast meets if you are prepared to travel a bit. Drop me a PM, or check your mail as you should have received one from me recently to check whether you want to stay opted out of email comms. cheers, Stu

  25. Yes, was just above freezing. No heater either, but had my new for Christmas heated gloves which helped 👍. Roads were pretty slick too, not ideal R888R weather and had wheel spin in 3rd a couple of times, not sure what these F40s drivers are struggling with? 🤣🤣

  26. Have you tried one out? See who is around your local area who would take you out for a trial blat. I'm an ex-motorcyclist so the Westfield is quite enclosed compared to a bike. The thing i love about it is the openness of it. I drive without doors unless the weather is filthy. Being able to look at the road going past just next to you is brilliant. It is a small very low car and can be missed by the unobservant. Keep lights on and drive defensively, keep to the sensible assumption that pretty much every other driver out there is an idiot who is trying to kill you. A noisy exhaust helps draw some attention to you. Find empty twisty roads, put your foot down and suddenly it'll all make sense...

  27. I drive my Westfield like I ride my bike. I'm a life-long cyclist and I've never been hit by a car and part of the reason for that is that I have a certain mindset when I'm on the bike...I assume that no one will see me - ever. That means I can rightly expect drivers to pull out in front of me as if I wasn't there. It means that when they pass me that they will not give me an acceptable amount of room. It means when they finish passing me that they will pull back into the lane in front of me and effectively cut me off. I also never ride my bike through the center part of my city and I find routes that will see little traffic but might be slightly longer. I spend as much of my cycling time on nearly empty roads with good sight-lines. And lastly......I always wear bright colors and use a tail light to make myself annoyingly visible. I drive the Westfield the very same way. I assume I'm not going to be seen and given room, I always choose my routes carefully to lower my risk, and I always drive with my headlights on and my car is bright orange. The Westfield has fantastic active safety...it can stop and turn to avoid a collision better than most anything else on the road but that puts the responsibility in your hands to see the guy pulling out in front of you like you didn't exist. Done this way I feel an acceptable level a safety. Driving a Westie like it's an SUV and it won't go that well. I hope that makes sense. dave

  29. Can I just say that blue is the best colour by far. Some people seem to think (incorrectly) that yellow is. This is daft as all the flies etc are attracted to yellow and who wants to be in a car with lots of flies hovering/pooing/squashed over it?? And red are pretending to be a bit of jam…..

  36. Not Westfield related, but I received a 3D printer for my birthday recently and have been quite amazed by what can be achieved with it. Amongst many other things, it allowed me to finally sort out mounting a big screen in our lounge for a proper home cinema. Our usual TV is an old 32” Panasonic jobby I got free from my time working with them, so we have gone from the sublime to 120” of ridiculousness 🤣. I already had a nice 1080P projector, a surround sound system and some aluminium pole. So, I designed (very simply on Tinkercad) and printed some brackets to hold the pole and some hooks to attach a screen I bought from Amazon to the poles. Some old IKEA racking from the garage gave me a way of getting the projector high enough, and Bob was indeed your uncle. It’s all easily removeable, including the brackets so can be setup or packed down fairly easily. I may add some side bars to tension the screen better, and will find a neater way of managing the cabling etc but this all worked well. We quickly abandoned our planned ‘Love Actually’ debut film due to too much swearing for our ten year old (we stupidly had forgotten all those bits! 😱🤪) and ended up with ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’, all good fun. Many more movie nights to come hopefully.
