I snapped this photo a little while back to submit to the calendar contest and it's one that wasn't chosen. But I like it and it shows well what my little corner of Montana looks like. It's a sparsely populated part of the USA and "rush hour" generally means that cowboys are driving their herd from one side of the road to another. There's some awesome twisty back road driving here. dave

Hello Everyone For many of you, I probably don’t need much of an introduction—I’m that guy with the weird accent and a rather flamboyant driving style in the Speed Series! For those who don’t know me as well, I’m Maurici, an Automotive and Motorsport Engineer originally from Mallorca. I’ve been based in the UK since 2015, working with a major OEM. I had the privilege of being taken under the wing of Adam Read (AdamR on the forum), and over the years, I’ve worked closely with him on car builds, testing, setups, and countless laps on the track. I’m thrilled to announce that after a period of downtime, Clear Motorsport is back in action! I’ll be running it myself from a humble but professionally equipped garage in Leighton, Cheshire. My goal is to provide a service I truly believe the area has been missing—combining expertise, passion, and a personal touch. It was dry the day I took this photo but not warm. It was about 35°F so I was wearing nearly everything I own so I could go out and get a few photos. dave

The cost of gas here in the USA, and in Montana in particular, is subsidized to the max and it ends up being so cheap. Right now I'm paying just about $3 USD for a US Gallon. I think given the current exchange rates that means is about £2.5 per US gallon. As I recall the UK gallon is larger than the US gallon just to confuse things. So anyway you cut it the cost of fuel doesn't keep me from enjoying the car. I think I may have said this before here but it bears repeating...The state of Montana has a very low population density with just over 1,000,000 people living here. At the same time it has 3 times the land area of England which as I recall has a population of 50,000,000 people. This means that Montana has 1/50 the number of people in 3 times the space. That's a long way of saying that finding empty roads to enjoy the Westfield on is not an issue. There's plenty or roads that I don't use because they are so remote that they have no cell service and the bears out number the people so having a breakdown is not a good idea! dave

Maurici came to visit this morning and competently checked and adjusted my geo. It's not been checked since I built it 8 years, 36,000 miles ago. one or two rod end bearings and trackrod ends have been replaces over this time, but I've always measured and counted turns etc. So it shouldn't be too far out. Laser and chart to set front toe Front camber The man in action Sadly a seized rod end bearing on the top rear, prevented camber adjustment. He found the locknut loose and suspect the thread in the top wishbone could be damaged. He didn't want to force it and snap the rod end bearing. Which would disable my car. I'll try some of this but will likely need a new top rear wishbone. Maurici, clearly knows his stuff and explains what he's doing and why etc. I'll be going to him once my rear camber can be adjusted to have the geo adjusted fully and a flat floor/corner weighting too.

If you’re trying to renew your membership but getting this screen: it’s not your fault, there’s (yet another) slight issue backstage. The club has gone from using PayPal to process payments to Stripe, which seems to have greatly irritated the backstage software. If you are among the “lucky” members who have been affected, please reply below and I’ll fix it for you. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. Those responsible have been fed to a herd of venomous flesh-eating rabbits and their clothes given to charity. (I often wonder if members read this far down.)

He's not kidding. I drove a bright orange Elise before I built my Westfield and I got pulled over once. After a nice little chat with the officer I asked why I was pulled over. He said I was going 3 mph over the speed limit but he mostly wanted to see the car. So I showed him around the car and he sat in it and took photos for his kid. Nice guy. dave

All seems to functioning correctly. Perhaps I’m just really boring and I’ve not been receiving and reactions recently due to the dull nature of the majority of my posts…?! 🤔😆

The nut was completely loose... and I'm sure that with the lack of clamping force the rosejoint jumped a tread inside the threaded bush. That with the fact that the car had an slight positive ammount of camber (meaning the upper joint was significantly unscrewed). A lot of torque for just a few fillets of tread.

I thought hedley had a zk nose and v8 bonnet unless he's changed them🤔

It's an XE, the drip's how you know you remembered to put oil in it!!

I have a slight drip on my rear crank seal, so just in case I get round to it I picked up a lightened flywheel.

Got some wheel dollies to give me a bit more room to do any work. Not loads but every inch helps or so I’m told! Quite easy to push around the garage, cage helps.

I don't have the 50/50 acetone atf... no. I may have to invest in some. however... I'm 99% the tread is damaged there.
