  1. Happy New year everyone and what a great way to start the New year than meeting up with friends. It was great to see everyone and have a chat. Let's hope we have better weather this year to than 2024.

  2. Greetings and Happy New Year to you all! As per the title, I have a (almost) year long challenge for the local areas and their members. This is a link to a GB map of amusing, silly, or naughty place names, many of which I can't list here lest the swear filter catches me out. Your task is to visit these places (indicated by a blue flag on the map) and take a photo of yourself (and if possible, with your Westfield - some locations are not accessible by car) at these places - the name of the place must be visible in the photo. Scoring will be as follows: One point for each WSCC member in the photo One point for each Westfield in the photo One extra point if the WSCC member is in costume One point for your Local Area Separately, there will be one point for every place with Westfield in its name visited (indicated by red flags). Contest closes on 30 November 2025. There will be a prize at the end of the year for the highest scoring WSCC member, for the highest scoring Local Area, and for the best costume. The map is a work in progress and I'm aware it may be thin in places, so your help would be appreciated. You may submit amusing, silly, or naughty place names and locations below for consideration for me to add to the map - my ruling is final. (Disclaimer: I’m not responsible for you driving all the way somewhere and not finding a place name sign to prove you’re there. Use Google Street View to look before you go!) Submit your photos and stories to go with them below. I'll create, post and update a spreadsheet in due course. Good luck, you've only got 11 months left!

  3. Caketastic, what a sooooper start to the New Year. Agree with Big Andy, great company, shame we couldn't make the Westfield's work out but we had a good laugh. And yes @AndrewBClarke we were waiting for slow coach Westwood coming with the ginger and sticky toffee cake, he had to go for the gooeyist! We started at Carsington where it stopped raining as we arrived. The cafe was unusually very quiet and the Andy's and us were delighted to be joined by not only Hedley and Tony but then also Martin, that's what made the New Year even more sooooper. Our Hedley is a bundle of fun as shown here, never boring and never dull when Hedley's around! Glen kindly took a photo in the Mainsail Cafe at Carsington. The rain stayed off so we dropped the tops (some of us did anyway) and went a scenic run via Brassington, Longcliffe and over to Hassop. I don't think we have done that route in the Westfield's and on a dry day it will be excellent, although we drove most of it down the centre of the road to avoid the puddles (except Martin in the Volvo Tank that just ploughed through them having fun) The road was flooded at Quackers with a car stuck in the middle of it! There was a lot uf running water about and I was glad the lights were at red in Bakewell so I could quick whip my soft top up as it had started to drizzle, love the MX5 for that, it takes 2 seconds. The chat and banter continued in the cafe at Hassop and the cakes were in plentiful supply with Big Andy getting the biggest piece today and Westwood the gooeyist. The top was up for the journey home as it was still drizzling. Thank you to everyone for coming out today and making it a great social occasion, we still talked about Westfield's and it's important to keep it all going even when the weather is not favourable plus WE LOVE TO SEE YOU ALL XXXX More photo's, enjoy. Just in case you are wondering Big Andy's Azura Blue ST is a real Limited run Mk4, he tells me only 300 are in the UK, very beautiful and sounds the biz too. Happy New Year to you all, hope to see you soon xxxxx

  7. Surely, this must be somewhere in France? I think it could be close to the town below: Which is around the back end of Burgundy & only 25 km from Orgy…. So there’s a few options for our French members (non pun intended 😜)

  8. They've actually had to cement this road name into a wall, no doubt it's been stolen too many times in the past! 😂

  11. Kents Bottom on the B4039 near Chippenham. You are guaranteed to find the village name sign as you enter with the T painted over. It's also just under 1 mile from Tiddleywink. God knows what they have amended that sign to say!

  14. There seems to be at least one cake missing!! Only 5 pieces between 6? Are you on a post Christmas detox? With @Andy Westwood there maybe even 2 pieces missing as he has two at a time…..

  15. The members have spoken. Well, 24 of them, anyway. My forum name will remain Captain Colonial. However, there's no harm having an alias, so I've made a few minor adjustments to my profile instead. "Him" wishes to thank those who voted and sends Happy New Year greetings to you all! 🍾

  17. Hi and happy new year, I've been using Philips extreme vision for years, they give a lot better light and pattern than the OEM stuff, in the early years the lamp life wasn't so good but later years they last just as long as OEM. The Philips lamps are road legal, the higher wattage aftermarket stuff isn't and a mate of mine melted a reflector on his motorcycle with a 100W lamp, something to bear in mind if the headlamp build is plastic. The only negative with the Philips that I can recall is having to check and slightly adjust my headlamp aim after install, they seem to aim high, I had to adjust SWIMBO's Kia Picanto and our Peugeot Motorhome to comply with the MOT, so might be worth marking a wall up with your pattern hight before removing the old lamps. I had a play with some LED conversions a while back, I went to the expensive end of the market to avoid the Chinesium carp that's out there, but to no avail, bl**** awful results, really poor to non existent pattern and really difficult to find the extra space behind the headlamp unit for the heatsink. Hope that wasn't too much egg sucking for the first day of the year. Nem.....
