  9. Many thanks! We managed to get £475 worth of toys in our trolley, but between the whole Friday morning group, we got a bit over £7000 worth. I think that makes somewhere around £30k for the week for the Manchester area. The toys then go to the Mission Christmas depot/distribution centre. Lots of these going on all round the country, (you’ll hear all about Mission Christmas if you’re a Greatest Hits Radio listener! - I know, I’m old!) Me and my business partner after our run. - early run out for the Santa outfit this year. 😆

  12. This may be irrelevant (!), but, a few years ago I imported a 1968 Lamborghini from Italy. There was no paperwork to prove the date of registration, but the chassis plate was dated 1968. The DVLA here then accepted a letter from the Lambo Owners Club U.K. that stated the chassis plate date was correct, so they gave me a 1968 registration date. There must be cases where the manufacturer no longer has the data/paperwork, and therefore a common sense approach (as above) prevails. BTW, my Westy is from 1993 and I have paperwork from the factory from that time. If your chassis is a lower number than mine, that would help prove yours was built before mine. Might that help?

  13. Having just read it, I fear the DVLA & Gov.org will continue to spank all motorists, they like their revenues for looking after our roads after all. And agreed a MOT should be every road going car & bike for every year & shouldn’t be a major hardship for any motorist, some cars only travel to & from the testing station per year, but gets them out on the road. But if a refurbished or modified car is classed as one that had a new set of shocks fitted they couldn’t police it. Ultimately, I doubt any decision they make will favour the average Joe. So I say use your cars as often as you can & enjoy them for what them mean to you! as blanket 20mph limits, hikes in Road tax, ULEZ, Toll road/bridges/tunnels + increased duty on fuel when they get to a point they only need to produce 10,000 gallons a year when everyone drives a Renault Twizzy is there to try to stifle our enjoyment. No offence to Twizzy drivers untended 🤪
