I think I can call this a wrap now. I’ve fitted four 1.5m LED battens, two each side, plus wired up all the sockets I need by the work bench and also to power the Carcoon more conveniently. It is much brighter now, no real shadows and much easier to work in. I know it still looks quite ‘busy’, but I don’t have cash to throw at nice tool chests etc so this is the best I can do, quite pleased with it given where I started back in July. Still some sorting out to do but that can happen over time, have plenty of house projects to be getting on with!7 points

A Big Thank you to Andy and Clare for organising this meal. We had a great afternoon and the food was delicious. It was great to catch up with everyone and have a good time Here's a few photos of the winter Westfield hardcore leaving the pub. I pretty sure Jake is crouching to take a photo definitely nothing else 😂3 points

Plugged into the Omex today. Cylinder head temperature sensor giving dodgy readings. At ignition on, or at least in the minute after i’ve turned the key jogged round the car and connected laptop, the temperature starts to climb with the engine off. After 15mins or so its climbed to 75 deg C and stays there. All this with engine off in a cold garage. Poor cold start seems to be explained…new sensor ordered.1 point

Nice idea I’m not. This is an experiment to assist cooling my left foot for warmer days. 😀1 point

I did this years ago with an old piece of vacuum cleaner hose, just connect one end to the passenger side heater outlet and stuff the open end up your jacket, it worked a treat, of course the rest of the Manchester crew took the p1$$ unmercifully😮 then I discovered Aldi heated seat covers and never looked back.😎 it’s nice to see one of the youngsters copying my idea 😛1 point

7 Westfield's and their hungry owners met at Hulme End Tea Junction for drinks only, in anticipation of a 3 course Christmas dinner at lunchtime. We welcomed Matt, who was joining us for the first time in his green Westfield Sport 250, very nice, take a look here Sat in the cafe, Glen sporting his double fractured thumb 🤕 Ian in Bagpuss, his en-suite Westfield 😁 It was cold, still and rather suitable weather for driving our cars. My opinion is, winter is the best time to be out in the Peak District with your Westfield. Like today, the roads were dry and very empty, nothing stopped us on our excellent route, turn after turn, excitement building as we knew that this was good and there was only better to come, the grande finale of the Bentley Brook road. Ian temporarily parked in his favourite spot when we arrived at The Bentley Brook Inn, Ashbourne Glen provided the strip show in the car park After a little photo we went inside to join the others at the Christmas Party. It was just great to see everyone, even without their cars, this is a great social event, the biggest outside of the big kit car shows for us. Thanks for coming everyone and joining us on the run out.1 point

Thanks to everyone for the input, and apologies for the belated response. I haven't checked out this car in person, but your input on it shows it's not the right car for me. The most precious resource I have right now is time, and I just haven't enough of it to do what's needed to get the car in a good place in light of other obligations. I will be keeping an eye out for other 7s for sale in the USA. I'm still very keep on owning a 7, just not this one.1 point
