7 Westfield's and a MEV met at a very sunny cafe in the Peak District After refreshments and a bit of a catch up we all set off up the Winnat's Pass onto the high ground to soak in those stunning views of the Autumn colours of the Peak District, WOW. The convoy ran really well with Dave behind me in communication with Ian at the back. We flowed nicely and arrived at The Rambler Inn, Edale in a timely fashion. We filled the empty car park. The MEV belonging to Anthony and Caroline was very eye-catching The view from the pub was stunning too You know what happens after lunch, we go cake hunting, it was successful!! Missing @Andy Westwood at this point The guilty party all had cake, even Ian and Ali. The Cow Shed, Tideswell. We finished off by wriggling over to the A515 and all splitting up from there, a fantastic day to be driving our cars. Had a quick trip down to Classic Collective's usual monthly meet in Bicester this morning (just round the corner from Westfield), and a fellow XI owner @Jeremy Higson was also there. It's the first time outside of the National Show that I've ever seen two XIs in the same place.

Took a wander down to a monthly classic car meet, just 5 minutes down the road. Quite a mix of cars, but still good to see them out.

Probably my last run of the year in the Westy. Took it up Zig-Zag hill near Shaftesbury (a Dorset version of an alpine pass!), then to Guy Ritchie’s airfield for a nice slice of cake.

My lovely wife, Ali, returned from home with a surprise for me. Not long after she mentioned how mucky the roads were as she drove her car home. I suspect I maybe about to get some fresh air…

I suggest you reciprocate by giving her a surprise gift of your own. Try a power tool, Workmate, or something that just happens to fit on the Westfield. My wife amusingly once gave me eight rolls of wallpaper for my birthday along with a pasting table. Her birthday was two weeks later and I gave her a box of 12 wine bottles, all empty, with a note that read “Tested for quality control purposes - passed”.

Spent the morning with @SXRORY at the Clevedon Cars & Coffee meet. First time trying this one out, was a really good event and well attended for this time of year. It happens monthly in Clevedon and is based around three big gatherings across the town, dividing up the cars into different eras. I think we timed our arrival well as we ended up in the centre of one of the displays. Some nice machines on show with Ferraris and Lambos etc. Saw a couple of nice Ultimas to drool over.
