  1. Hello everybody I introduce myself. So, Stéphane, 42 years old, i leave in the west south of france and i m mechanical enginneer. I've a wife and 2 children At job, i design hooklift and at home, i built cars and motorbikes It makes more than 15 years that i begin to built, transform or upgrade motobikes and cars and i arrived today at this forum because i will start the complete rebuild of a SEI sport carbon from 2001. So, i think i will have some question and i also want to share my work and have some feedbacks. I share some pics of some of my project!

  2. Yes, the car is registered to drive on road . left side wheel and standard paper! It was crash 14 years ago and stored in a garage. So i need to make the repairs with an automotive expert follow up in order to put it again on road.

  3. I have a Mega S2000 with stock engine with Omex 600 ECU and no cat but stock silencer mapped by Northampton Motorsport in 2021 (although only 2000 miles ago). See attached dyno plot with air fuels. On the track when the car is hot on a trailing throttle but still in VTEC revs then getting back on the throttle I get big flames of unburnt fuel out of the exhaust. Any thought son this?

  4. Drove it to work today. That was its first outing since Malvern, as I thought it deserved a run before being put to bed for the winter. Such a fun car, but I hardly ever get to use it. It’s just too easy to jump into something bigger, warmer, more comfy, etc. I really must try and use it more next year, as I say every year🙄 (That said, the odometer ticked over the 4000 mile mark this summer, so not too bad given it’s only 31 years old!😂)

  6. Anything you wish you had on this years road trip? radio spares, PTT button etc. They seem to break easily. New wallet to carry the kitty 🤑 Spare throttle or clutch cable. Euro tunnel ticket or hotel room for a night. WSCC subscription for next year.

  7. It did start out with people I know, I then extended the goodwill to all active members! Apologies for missing you out. I certainly wouldn't have done it intentionally, when was it? I can only imagine I was distracted by something else on the day etc, possibly my local 1/2 marathon on a Sun perhaps? Glad to read you're stopping.

  9. Q-jr bought me tickets to go to the Spa 24 hours next year. About £70 for 5 days of racing incl paddock access... of course you still have to make your way there and find a cardboard box to sleep in, but I thought that was pretty good vfm?

First registered 1997, comprehensive nut and bolt rebuild over the last 18 months, stripped to the chassis (which was refurbed and painted), and built again from scratch with new components used where necessary. I've owned it for c. 2 years, with two owners prior to me. I've enjoyed the project but I'm looking to do a season of racing next year so this is now up for sale as I need the space (and the money!!) It has been built as a usable lightweight fast road and trackday car with loads of carbon (scuttle, bulkheads, interior panels, dash, tunnel and pedal box cover) and a lovely revvy 1600 Toyota 4AGE engine running on throttle bodies. Spec as follows: Drivetrain: 1600 Toyota 4AGE engine, winged sump, Jenvey throttle bodies, OMEX 500 programmable ecu Type 9 gearbox with ally bellhousing, Sierra LSD rear diff with 3.92 ratio Custom large stainless exhaust silencer (30" long, 6" dia, tested at 92dB @5000rpm) Mocal oil cooler Wheels and suspension: Lightweight Compomotive CXRs with Toyo ZZR semi slicks. Westfield 4-pot front brakes (rebranded Wilwoods I believe), braided brake lines Front anti-roll bar (not currently fitted) Adjustable Gaz shocks all round, with brand new alloy bodied ones just fitted on the rear New springs all round, cornerweighted and set up for 75kg driver Light weight race battery mounted low on the passenger side Interior: Composite bucket seats with carbon inlay on the headrest. Carbon fibre dash Carbon fibre tunnel top and sides Carbon fibre rear bulkhead Carbon fibre footwell bulkheads and tops Carbon fibre scuttle front Carbon fibre pedal box cover Mishimoto white PTFE weighted gearknob Race Technology Dash2 digital dash hooked up to a... Race Technology DL1 GPS datalogger that logs speed, accelerometer, engine parameters etc to CF card and also does predictive lap timing visible on the Dash2. Big oil pressure warning light USB socket on dash Body: Standard SEiW bodywork in British Racing Green gelcoat - showing a few marks commensurate with 27 years of use, but all fundamentally sound and looks great from 10 feet away! Fluoro yellow vinyl nosecone and body stripes (removable, but every schoolboy knows racing stripes add 50bhp so why would you?) RAC rollbar SoftBitsForSevens boot cover It's all been built with an eye for detail and light weight. The engine is a gem, revving to 8000rpm and with great induction noise through the throttle bodies. The geometry and shock set up is great for road, with a good degree of compliance, yet with a couple of clicks on the shocks it stiffens up nicely for track use. The large silencer means that pretty much all tracks in the UK should be accessible - it registered 92dB at 5000rpm at a Lydden Hill track day recently. The car is near Guildford, Surrey. Sure I'll have missed some things so let me know if you have any questions. £10995 OVNO - I'd consider a PX with cash either way for either a Caterham in race trim or something eligible for historic racing - Anglia 105e, Sprite/Midget, A35 etc.

  21. This was to be the final rounds of the Westfield Speed Series Championship in 2024. The event was organised by Longton and District Motor Club. And there were high expectations that this again would be another successful event. The running order was with the most powerful cars having the initial runs. So this meant that the British Sprint series competitors were the first to line up on Saturday morning. It was still a little bit greasy and Pete Golding managed to spin at the cork screw, this set the scene. Dave Smith in his Westfield Sports 250 with a highly modified engine reported that he had a plug down on the first practise run. Worse was to occur to Harry Moody in his megabusa. He had had problems with his drive shaft at the previous event at Harewood a couple of weeks previously and had replaced the drive shaft joint and tested it on the drive where all was well, however, 200 yards into the first practise run and the drive shaft pulled out again, so that was it, game over for Harry. In the first timed runs, it was still proving to be slippery. Dave Smith reported a spin along with Mick Dent having a tank slapper. As the day progressed, the weather conditions improved, and some good times were recorded, Dave Banner took the class record with a 52.81, Chris Boyd was happy to get back to seeing some of the times that he had set several years ago in his Sylva Riot. Steve Arkley had a good day until his final run when he suffered issues with his fuel pump, which was diagnosed as a loose connection after the run! Howard Gaskin had started the day on his Uniroyal rainsport tyres and decided to change them to his Nankans, but went slower, so he went back to his Uniroyals and ultimately three seconds faster He had suffered a misfire off the line going up to Rocket, but that cleared throughout the day and managed to finish the day on a 59.99. So he was happy with his result. Dave Smith. reported to be having a good day and was managing to get into the 55 seconds, but couldn't do any better, However, this did result in him setting a class record for the road going class.. Mick Skidmore was on form and managed to beat his PB by 0.5 seconds. John Loudon. was second in both runoffs in the British Sprint series and managed in the progress to set a new personal best beating his old time by 1.42 seconds. Mark Bishop had had a brilliant day and was looking forward to Sunday. Also going well was Stuart Gilks and he was having a good day as well, he was running with a interesting tyre combination with Avon 888 on the rears and Uniroyals on the front. He was sharing the driving with his daughter, Louise. Ian Davenport was back out again, he has not done many events in 24. was enjoying the camaraderie. at Anglesey. On Sunday, the weather forecast for the day forecast rain from late morning. So the organisers wanted competitors to get in as many runs as they possibly could in the morning session before the rain came. However, the rain did not materialise and a dry day was had! Overnight, Mick Skidmore had altered the gear ratios in his gearbox so he could have more top speed on the back straight as we were running a different circuit combination. Dave Smith had also changed class and gone from road going into the slick tyred class. Howard Gaskin kept the same tyres on that he had switched back to and the misfire was gone. So all went well on Sunday for Howard who may be retiring from competing.........Ian Davenport, on the other hand, switch to Uniroyals and had a good run. Dave Banner had the misfortune of a rod coming through the side of the block in his megabusa, so an early finish for Dave. We managed to run through the afternoon in dry conditions with no other major incidents to report. So this concluded the final round of the championship and the points ended up being. equal for Dave Banner, and Dave Smith, both scoring. 10 maximum points on 10 rounds. So the result for the Westfield Speed Series Championship was a tie between Dave banner & Dave Smith. Competition throughout the season has been great and hopefully there will be more to be had in 2025. If you are thinking about competing. I would seriously recommend it. It is just great fun and a great set of people. and some really good circuits to visit, here is to 2025.
