  4. Wow, 33 years... won't be long before the "midlife crisis" can have it's own midlife crisis

  5. In today’s world, people don’t often offer help or services for nothing. So here is a message to thank two business that have - Jack Webb Motorsport based in Brigg, Lincolnshire. They spent hours going over my car to resolve damper / spring / ground clearance issues. Cost me nothing and bought nothing from them either!! Intatrim from Telford - admittedly spent a few quid with them a few years back but I needed two replacement straps for my doors. Sent them a broken one and they are making me two new ones in carbon effect pvc to match the seats. Done for the cost of postage only. Good news needs to be shared!!

  7. My Wife will be selling her 2012 MX5 NC 2.0 Auto shortly and I thought someone here would be or know someone who would be interested. It was my Dads before us. Local garage serviced last 5 years, Mazda dealer previously from new. 43700 miles. She'll be looking for around £6500. (located Bury, Lancs. NW) NW) Thankfully we will still have my MX5 ND RF to play in! 😊

  8. Lovely, not been without one for the last 15yrs. Looks, handling and indestructible reliability, what's not to like. 👍

  9. I may actually be free to come over for once! If so, and it stays as dry as the metoffice suggest, I'll be in the XI.

  11. I posted a similar topic a few weeks ago for a handling / control course for my other half, I was thinking of hiring curborough for a day and splitting the cost with say 5 others who were of a similar mindset ie beginners / novices rather than people just wanting to hone their already good technique...

  12. There is a drive limits day that I’ve heard of. I will try and find the details now. That sounded quite good

  13. I found that doing track days with road tyres rather than semi-slicks really helps. They break away much more easily, yet progressively and thus allow you more time to safely explore the limit. Couple this with some tuition and it really helps. Better still, by a crappy old mx5 with ditchfinders and then the above gets even easier.

  15. I've done a skid pan course and while I think that they're a great thing and everyone that drives a car should go on one, I'm not sure that it's what you are looking for. Skid pan courses are about safety rather than going round a track at ten tenths. D

  16. I would have thought your local track can offer driver coaching. Any where that does driving experiences should have the option. I did a performance driving experience with an instructor in my car prior to my first track day at Knockhill. It was invaluable and I did not feel like I was jumping in blind. They could Taylor the session to suit what you needed from building experience or improving braking etc.

  17. Did it a few years ago, is very good but designed for coping with low grip road conditions. You will be lucky to get over 30 mph on the pan... I've been looking at some high performance handling courses. There are some at Millbrook that look amazing but are very expensive. There's also someone at north Weald that is more reasonably priced but you are generally in a small group rather than 121

  20. Spent the morning with @SXRORY at the Clevedon Cars & Coffee meet. First time trying this one out, was a really good event and well attended for this time of year. It happens monthly in Clevedon and is based around three big gatherings across the town, dividing up the cars into different eras. I think we timed our arrival well as we ended up in the centre of one of the displays. Some nice machines on show with Ferraris and Lambos etc. Saw a couple of nice Ultimas to drool over. And here's a few other random photos I took:

  24. Newbie here from Co Down. Thought this the best place to come to for help and info. Just acquired a wide body Westy running chassis that had a red top in it. I’m putting a Busa into it so my first plea for help is, has anyone got an engine cradle to suit a Gen 1 Busa into Westy gathering dust anywhere.

  25. Hello I'm in France, I own a workshop mostly specialized in Lotus maintenance and tuning. As the "LIR" is a small world, I also work on Caterham and now Westfield. I will have some questions as I'm not familiar with the Zetec engine yet. Many thanks for your welcome Olivier
