  2. It has been a really interesting year in terms of trying out a new scoring system, slight change of classes, and trying to see how best to go forward with the Speed Series. There has been very good attendance at our usual popular events eg LDMC Anglesey, with Blyton Park & Harewood also proving popular. Other events less popular, this will be taken into account with our 2025 Calendar. However the most unusual result for the Championship has been to see Dave Smith and Dave Banner score so well and us to end up with a Tie for the Overall Champion, this is usually resolved using some form of countback, however our regulations did not cover us for the particular circumstances in this case. So we have declared a tie between the two Dave's, who both drove exceptionally well all season. Congratulations to them both.

  4. Newbie here from Co Down. Thought this the best place to come to for help and info. Just acquired a wide body Westy running chassis that had a red top in it. I’m putting a Busa into it so my first plea for help is, has anyone got an engine cradle to suit a Gen 1 Busa into Westy gathering dust anywhere.

  5. I can't show you what I've seen as I'm not allowed to take photos. I'm at a "Top Secret" testing facility near Bedford and there are some nice cars here! But I'm not allowed to look at them!

  6. To be fair it’s hard enough trying to keep up with @Apc1x in his Yaris when it’s dry, but in the wet/damp it’s just impossible. He is also less than half my age, which helps 🤣

  8. Not sure about cheap, but I almost spit my cornflakes out just about every morning when I see the prices of houses down South on Homes under the hammer!

  10. Thank you Chris for a very insightful and helpful post 👍 You are absolutely right re new competitors, they are very unlikely to start winning straight away and certainly just spending fortunes on bigger engines rarely is the answer, a well developed whole car approach often works better, it's more important to be able to stop, than go What's most important is that competitors enjoy the events and the friendships made. 😄 We hope that we can welcome you into our 2025 Championship.

  11. One of the discussions on Saturday at Anglesey was around perception, which to some extents applies here. The perception that a road going car will not be able to compete as everything is a fire breathing monster........ From an outsider who has competed for a just few years 😉 there is a perception that most Caterhams (Yes I used that word as a Caterham owner) compete in road going with a few Westfields in the mix, where as most Westfields compete in modified as fire breathing monsters, with very few similar tuned caterhams. In real terms there is a place for everyone, within the event class structure, from road going standard westfields, to highly tuned and modified monsters in Modified Specialist production. We are competing in roadgoing Specialist Production in a number of championships and see a good mix of road going cars (not just Caterhams & Westfields) with a mix of power and experience, the advice I always give competitors is compete with what you have, see if you like it and learn from experience and when something needs replacing always go for something better. will you be the quickest in the class straight away, probably not unless you are a budding F1 Driver, but if you enjoy it, and most do , you will improve and you will start rising up the rankings, but at first if you have a smile on your face and are improving then thats all that should matter.

  13. Nice catch 👍 Driving near Ingolstadt this year we saw a new Audi RS3 in full disguise and last year passing Stuttgart it was the new Merc coupe in disguise. Funnily enough had it not been for the disguises I wouldn't have given them a second glance.

  16. The Toybox feature is in the October edition of the mag, I'm still waiting for my copy so stole this off Facebook. Nice that we've a few of our members and their lovely cars in there 👍 You can order a copy from here or get one from your local newsagents (if they're still a thing these days!)

  17. Yeah a mate of mine has just bought a 4 bed detached house in Wales for £250k. Where I live in a normal town 11 miles from Bristol they are £400 to £600k. Actually in Bristol, well you need a lottery win. It's flipping ridiculous
