  8. The electric heated windscreen is amazing with the hood up, no misting in the wet, just a shame the wipers would just as well be painted on for all the good the do!

  9. There’s a few of us a bit further north, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Washington, Durham and @tex is Teesside way. Some of us still have Westies too If this is your first very light RWD car just go easy on the loud pedal until you get used to it. If you plan to go any distance then a half hood is a good idea (as full weather gear tends to get steamed up in a downpour) - other than that you will want good breakdown cover* 🤣 *only used mine once in 9 years and 20k miles to be fair 😉

  10. Awesome, hope you get some dry weather to enjoy the new toy. I presume you are getting it with weather gear. Kind of a must have for northern climes I think. I am on a WhatsApp group for kits and there are about 4 or 5 guys in an around Aberdeen

  12. Thanks for all the feedback and I appreciate the map. I used to watch the Elans and Lotus 7s when I was much younger beating the larger cars and always thought they were amazing. Finally have one now that I am retired and can spend some time playing. Seems like a fun and friendly group. I look forward to chatting with you all. Bruce aka AZ7

  21. Hmmm same here. There's no way to filter out SORN (or Ex) Members. I can prune out SORN's from the database, but it's a one-off manual task that will need repeating every so often.

  24. I've got to say that until Sunday at Harewood I was unaware that the championship structure had changed in 2024 and none westfields were allowed to compete & score. based on what i can see of the calendar I can see alot of alignment with the events we are doing already and I think both Matt and I will be joining in with the 7 Speed Series next season.

  26. @Rob Hunter - Club Secretary what a bunch of great photo ! ! ! Love that one : Beside aesthetic of that picture , cant miss the water there... Here in Poland people keep asking me : "what about rain ???" Few years with Westfields and I have never drive in rain. But now I know what I need to answer : "abandon Your car and go under some roof " Really this and rest of the pictures are great! And taken with sacrifice because You was also under that rain.

  30. In my first hand experience of four Maxis two of which were owned by my employer at the time, one by a colleague, and one by a relative, there is nothing 'lovely' about a Maxi at any stage of its miserably unreliable life. Good concept, lousy build quality and design details - particularly the gearbox and selector mechanism.

  31. Hi John, welcome to the best club on the circuit from sunny Wolverhampton and Just to make you aware, photos to be posted on here are the law, as soon as you get it 😉 Let us know what the set up, model, engine and any general info and you’re get plenty of support. The forum is also a great place to “search” for tech info for over a decade so post up any questions. I’m also a novice Westy owner having had mine for 15 months, but there is plenty of others in the same boat supported by many that have had years of experience. Hope to see you at one of the events, shows, etc. Good luck with the car & happy Westfielding. 🙏🫶🏼👍
