Well it's come around to three years since I built my Westfield, time flies. So as well as a birthday clean and rub down this afternoon it was MOT time this morning and I was delighted to get my first pass certificate. I need to give high praise to Ed and the team at Franks Garage in Kingswood, Gloucestershire, very knowledgeable on Westfields, Caterhams and the like and knew their way around the car no problem. Turned out the car did have a problem which they spotted and fixed before a fuss-free MOT and I was on my way. Had a few good recommendations of where to go but really glad to have found these guys. It might just be me, but having built the car myself I have been slightly dreading the first MOT milestone, felt like handing my homework in at school many, many years ago 😅

I vaguely remember when it was derelict many years ago, I used to go fishing at the Mauldslie. Definitely a money pit and just try and get insurance on it, especially when it comes to the flooding question.

Fun fact: we actually looked at buying that gatehouse when it came on the market a few years ago, and it was affordable, but when we realised that the extra mortgage payments plus the upkeep would totally banjax our retirement plans, probably meaning an extra decade at the coal face, we came to our senses.

Decided to get the document that the bank sent me to fill out for my business account tax info. Unfortunately my Cockapoo puppy got there first… butter wouldn’t melt eh?

Got up a bit earlier and finished off the final racks this morning. They look great! Just need to bolt them together now to keep them lined up and rigid before getting them filled. I’ve left a nice little gap at the back so I can access both sides of the garage easily.

A last minute Blat up to the Ponderosa Cafe this afternoon with the leg-end @Terence Arthur, a great little drive out, decent weather, lovely roads and 20 mph limits still in towns/villages 🫣 - next trip out Newark 🙌

Same with mine @SXRORY. Lift pump failed which I thought strange for a facet pump. I've replaced the failed "barrel" type with a facet cube lift pump. Hopefully it will last a bit longer...

I made the aluminium hangers for the diffuser, the thing that helps it go even faster 🤣
