With a small weather window, this wasn't the longest of meets but we had a fab turnout! Ben is always a helpful kind of guy so had assisted the Curborough horticultural team with removing molehills with his splitter π The main line up.... We were also joined by Tim and Steve For an Aston Martin Owners Club meet, there were surprisingly few Astons about but plenty to look at in the car park and paddock. 1956 DB/4 Mk2 Rare Abarth 695SS Stunning Mk1 Escort, complete with aluminium 2.0 BDG. It's also in the livery of the car Russel Brooked wrote off in spectacular style at the 1973 RAC Rally in Sutton Park. An absolutely mint Mk2 Jaguar 3.4 Another car that caught my eye was this 1950 Plymouth Special Deluxe, very subtle rat rod look on lovely polished black steelies π Great to see everyone, we'll be back on Friday for the Warwickshire track day and then it's off to Newark!!!5 points

Currently 32 people have booked to come which is brilliant. Iβve been chatting to the venue who originally said 30 was the maximum and we have managed to βstretchβ the numbers. If you are thinking of coming but have not booked, please please make your mind up, change shifts etc and claim your space before I have to start a βreserveβ list!!3 points

Keep at it - this car will be perfect by the time you've finished! To be fair, at 4k you weren't too far from the limiter anyway.2 points

Definitely stick some LED battens up - I fitted some from Screwfix a couple of years ago. Night & day compared to fluorescent tubes.2 points

By the time the garage is finished, you'll need to sell the Westy to pay for it! π1 point

You should be able to fit led's to your fittings and save having to buy the whole thing.1 point

Yeah, I've got screwfix ones too. Very bright and great for detailing. I really liked the way you wired them up, made it a doddle to link them together. I did a bit of research and looked at plenty of ebay ones, but you just don't know what you're getting. Another vote for the screwfix ones π1 point

I fitted some V-Tac 757 VT-8-80 6ft battens that have a 8600lm output, bought from CPC Farnell, but they donβt seem to stock them anymore. Ive found this site that do them though ππΌ https://www.lighting-direct.co.uk/v-tac-80w-cool-white-led-batten-1820mm.html?utm_source=shopping_feed&utm_medium=organic&srsltid=AfmBOorDKiVP4SzgLUK0uIKWDMisz49ruP3R2JFjuRubAsYg42zKKsirhsI1 point

Is camping for kit car drivers free? Also is it just a case of rocking up or do we need to get tickets ahead of time? Thinking of heading up straight after the Warwickshire Curborough Track Day. Clearly depends on events of the day though π€£ Thanks.1 point

Started off at 9am sunny and fresh, making a 20 miles to a local cars and coffee. After a little bit of tyre kicking and a coffee decided to meet a mate a gasoline juice, jump is to enjoy 30 miles of country road. after another coffee and a chat decided to make my way back, but then shortly after being on the road I had the pleasure of enjoying the wet stuff for the next 50 minutes π’. The difference in the weather in 5 hours, but overall a good drive had.1 point

Tillets the same as my old yellow Westfield. Turbo seats are 7kg each, the Tillets are 3.7kg each.1 point

As it's the end of summer, and it's throwing it down with rain, I suppose you can't blame people for staying at home and not getting their Westfields out. I got mine out, then decided the 11 miles was too far in the rain. Well done to @Nicholas Rycroft and Julie for coming over from Scarborough. And to Des'n'Debs (@Breakable?) for letting me see my possible future!1 point

Hi All, I am unable to create events in the Events Calendar currently so thought that the next best thing would be to post up here. So, here are the dates for the next few months: 25th September 2024 23rd October 2024 27th November 2024 18th December 2024 (TBD at this stage, just a proposal to avoid Chrimbo) Meetings are held at The Halfway House pub near Cullompton, starting at 7.30pm and running through until around 10pm. See you there π Would be good to have a bit of a planning session at the September meet to get some ideas of what we would like to do over the next year.1 point

That might be true. It also might not be true. Only one needs to be replaced. The other ones can be replaced at your leisure over the winter. In the meantime, if itβs not broken, donβt fix it, just get out and drive it.1 point
