14 cars - varied from Westies, obviously GBS, a Tiger, Atoms, Morgan etc. Even the good weather made an appearance. Met up at GBS factory for a pre start coffee and biscuit and left promptly at 10.15. We were all given a route map but after a quick discussion, decided to follow the leader and only revert back to the route if lost - which did happen to a couple of people!! Stop for a mid morning break at Belvoir. After a countryside route of about 50 to 60 miles ended up at a very nice pub for lunch. A hearty meal was enjoyed and everybody went their own ways - except @Jakejmageeand @si_salisbury who were lead astray by me and we went via an ice cream parlour on the way home. A good day was enjoyed by all. Thanks to all at GBS for organising us. Photos borrowed from GBS - and now from our YouTube star member - Jake 🤪 - Thirsty cars. Thirsty drivers. The bonnet colour matches the waitresses face colour when Jake asked for the beer mat!!6 points

Started off at 9am sunny and fresh, making a 20 miles to a local cars and coffee. After a little bit of tyre kicking and a coffee decided to meet a mate a gasoline juice, jump is to enjoy 30 miles of country road. after another coffee and a chat decided to make my way back, but then shortly after being on the road I had the pleasure of enjoying the wet stuff for the next 50 minutes 😢. The difference in the weather in 5 hours, but overall a good drive had.4 points

As it's the end of summer, and it's throwing it down with rain, I suppose you can't blame people for staying at home and not getting their Westfields out. I got mine out, then decided the 11 miles was too far in the rain. Well done to @Nicholas Rycroft and Julie for coming over from Scarborough. And to Des'n'Debs (@Breakable?) for letting me see my possible future!4 points

Looks like it was a fantastic run in some lovely weather. Great how the GBS guys welcome all makes, they really seem to be a friendly bunch and it just makes for a more interesting meet. 😁3 points

Being a Single Donor Vehicle, they cost less to build than the “modular” kit that the Zetec/Duratec cars will be based on. This then gets reflected in the resale cost, making them good value for money. Same goes for the Sierra SDV, although many of those will have used the very old Pinto engine and will thus perhaps be less desirable these days. The mazda SDV makes a great option if you want to have a turbo though due to the inherent strength of the base motor.1 point

Some pretty serious looking machinery there. Nice of you to allow a support vehicle, just in case 😉1 point

Racking build nearly there, 3.5 out of 5 racks built now. It’s pretty fiddly to assemble but needs no tools and seems pretty strong once assembled. I need to adjust the spacing to make sure I’ve got enough room to work around the car. I have a cunning plan to suspend the Carcoon bubble on wires with pulleys so I can easily shift it out of the way, will see if I can make it work. Once racking is sorted and bolted together, I’ve got a few jobs left to do: - Paint the tool boards and put them back up - Make a small bench behind the car - Sort power and lighting out - Sort the Carcoon pulleys out - Load up the racking!1 point
