  1. I took part in a run through the scenic route to Oban yesterday with about 8 cars, a mixture of kits. Mk, Westie, Caterham and 3 Lotus. There was an S2 exige with over 300 bhp, had fun trying to keep up. Lots of getting lost on the way and various routes taken but we met up in the end. 360miles covered and smiles all round.

  6. Back home after a very moist trip home from Umberleigh. Grand day out, driving around Devon with the rest of the gang. Weather was kind during the day, but got bad for the trip home. This sky is that colour because the Crewkerne Street Fair is in town!

  8. I've just revised this listing, and it's now just the car for sale. I've all the bits still but will be selling them seperately on here over the next couple of days. The car for sale is the one running on black CXR's with 215 and 195 Avon ZZS on them. Just £13,000 gets you this supremely competitive machine that has had pretty much every component feature upgraded/or rebuilt during my ownership mostly by NMS. My season has now ended, and so has my time of Westfield ownership. I'm offering for my sale my well known and very well put together SEIW offering 444 bhp per tonne. Car has finished in 2nd place twice in the MSC and at the time of writing currently leads class 2B and is a hugely capable car. Massive spec on this I'll give the basics here but more than willing to go over the final details over Tea/Coffee etc with the buyer. As lists are boring to type and I'd rather tell you about them in person. Powered by 250 hp. C20XE Exon Race Engine (Rebuilt last year at huge cost) Running Jenvey Throttle bodies and OMEX 600 management. Mated to 5 speed Quaife Straight Cut Dog box. Mated to Cosworth LSD running 4.7 diff. Full IRS, with GAZ adjustable suspension. Westfield AP Racing Front brakes with CL RC5 pads. (Super stoppers) Rears Hi Spec running Mintex M1144 pads. Fuel tank is a tiny 1 gallon ARH with Facet lift, ARH swirl pot and Bosch main pump. Sitting is performed by a single Carbon Tillet seat and not falling out harnesses made by those good thinking people at TRS. Further not falling out protection provided by a Caged laser powder coated Cage with FIA certificate. FIA kill switch and flip up ignition gets things started through a Jack Webb motorsport Lithium Ion battery that weighs less than my work shoes. body work has light weight Nose cone and Bonnet from Mr Aspden, flared carbon NV Arches, Carbon NV front Aero wings and a Rear Diffuser also made by Mark. rear boot is carbon fitted with Quick release fixings. That's about it really, time for me to move onto a new challenge, I've spent thousands on this project so you don't have to, most of the components have been refurbished/replaced upgraded its a fast hugely capable car and would love to see it go onto a new home of competition again, but easily turned back into a long range car again if needed. That's it! Oh wait a price for all of the above just in case you missed it just 13k gets you a ready to race car that is road legal. Car has mostly been tinkered with by NMS at huge cost to myself but it works superbly now and an amazing car from the one I initially bought. Talk to me on 07970162972, then come and take it away. Cheers for getting this far on the reading. Also I'm happy to split things up don't feel you have to buy the trailer as well as all the other bits. But the trailer is worth a grand everyday of the week a super rare item but if you don't need it just say. Cheers.

  18. We are so desensitised to our cars at times we forget how amazed we were ourselves when we first saw one. It's normal to us but must be quite amazing to see one in real life if you've never seen one before. I can recall a load of Japanese tourists in Bibury and Tetbury getting the cameras out many-a-time as we drove by.

  19. Westfield 7SE Pre litigation 1600 Ford crossflow and cortina gt running gear. (4 speed and live axle) Original spas coil overs Mini lite replica wheels. Full wet weather gear with doors. 19,300 miles. Has been recommissioned. MOT end October. Many new parts including plugs, points, condenser, dizzy cap, leads water pump, thermostat, temperature sender, oil, filter, new brakes and cylinders new caliper on the front. Twin 40 Dellorto carbs set by Baskervilles with rolling road print out at approximately 110bhp. This car is 35 year old and not immaculate, seats and dash could do with re trimming although a new c******* dash is supplied, has an oil leak coming from weeping fuel pump gasket and sump plug washer (will try to rectify this) . Gauges need attention beloved to be voltage stabiliser. Fibre glass goes have marks, scratches and some damage that will need attention to make it immaculate. Original powder coat still on chassis although some small areas require a touch up due to age not rotten at all due to the cross flow coating of oil Has recently done 200miles without issues and drive fairly well for an old 7. Perfect for French export. Please don’t expect and show ready car this is a usable reliable car that’s been used as it should. I can assist with loading, uk bank transfer only no payment alternatives. I’m in no rush to sell. Rare early car. £7500 07494445705

  20. Re the waterpump, be aware that on the silvertop (and probably blacktop too?), the waterpump is trapped behind the cambelt, so if you need to do the pump, it’ll need a cambelt as well. if/when it comes to that job, if they aren’t already fitted, I can’t rate the ARP camwheel bolts highly enough. They make the job so much easier than the dreadful OEM Torx bolts.

  21. If it’s your first “seven” type car, do be careful with the loud pedal until you get used to it! Even if you have had performance cars in the past, 200bhp in something so light can go wrong very quickly 👍

  23. We've been using carcoons for at least 6 years. The westy spent it's first year in one before promotion to the garage. As long as you've enough clearance to walk all the way round, getting a car in or out is easy. With the Westy I used to unzip 3/4 of the way round (back, side and front), flip the top part over beside the car, jump in and drive off. Once you're home, park on the bottom part, throw the top part over the car (not difficult with the lack of height involved) zip up and connect power. The bubble will re-inflate in about 10 mins. With one of my other cars that's in a Carcoon in the front garden, I unzip 90% of the way round then flip the top onto the grass behind the car before driving off. Keeping just a little bit of zip attached makes life much easier. There are three challenges with a Carcoon: 1) How to stop it blowing away when there's no car in it. We've used everything from other cars to wheely bins and bags of potting compost. 2) Doesn't apply to Westys, but getting the top part over the car if it is wet is a right pain, as it sticks. 3) Getting one - it's that time of year when demand goes up... if you buy new, go direct to Carcoon as they'll have an accurate view on lead times. Certain other suppliers.... despite what they may say, rarely have stock. The other advantage is that if you go direct, they're helpful if you have any issues. The zip failed on one of ours and they collected it, repaired it and sent it back to us.
