Imagine driving home, only for that to happen! 😬 I sincerely hope the owner shut the engine off before it overheated. After he gets it sorted, I’d want to be there to see and hear a cold start, and a full heat cycle including thermostat opening and cooling fan operation, before parting with my cash. Also a little lesson for us all - do not ignore or delay replacing a weeping core plug!4 points

Surprisingly regularly given a. The fuel economy, and b. The accuracy of the fuel gauge! (which oscillates from about 40% to 120% when the indicators are on…)3 points

If you’re looking for advise it’s free, if your looking for parts it’s cheaper, I reckon I save £50 every couple of months so the £35 is money we’ll spent every 2 months.2 points

It's a Sport 250 - so a 2.0 litre Ecoboost. Not sure what the efficiency actually is, but it's not high! Supposedly the Focus ST gets about 30 - I'd be amazed if it was that high.2 points

You have to fill up with petrol at some point…2 points

So bright that all the detachable bodywork jumped off the car to get away! I look forward to the stories of the angry drivers behind you venting their spleens! 🤬🤣2 points

My garage roof has needed replacing for a while. It is corrugated asbestos cement sheets and leaks in a number of places. I have two garages from a block of four on our property and the owner of the other two has led getting this sorted, as much as anything because he is a builder! I spent the last few days clearing my garages out, so the lawn and our garden room currently look like a bombsite. Last week we had scaffolding erected behind the garages to allow access, and today a specialist company came to remove the old roofing and were done by around 1pm. Pretty hideous work in this heat wearing masks and suits etc, rather them than me! Some strengthening/replacement work is needed on the beams which should be done by mid morning, then it will be on with the new roof. I shall be acting as labourer, mainly helping get the new sheets up on the roof while he does the technical bits 🤣. We are basically replacing with similar look sheets but with a clear panel above each garage for better lighting. Whilst everything is empty, I’m also thinking of sealing the floor and white washing the walls so it all looks brighter and to keep the dust down. Hopefully it will be a much more workable and pleasant environment for both the car and DIY. Will post some more pics up as we progress. Cleared and ready Roof gone!1 point

I have a policy of never messing with anything you can't see, hear or smell but can kill you 😂1 point

Mine is thirsty too. Needs a dyno. What engine do you have that's drinking it?1 point

Thanks again Howden Insurance. Spoke to Natalie this year who organised a renewal for me that was cheaper than last year - can’t complain about that 😀1 point

They’ll have to catch me to vent, and that’s unlikely…1 point

Sorry wasn't meant to be a criticism. I just thought it worth mentioning as you can't see the holes are spaced out in this way and also that you can get new rings and gaskets.1 point

Re the waterpump, be aware that on the silvertop (and probably blacktop too?), the waterpump is trapped behind the cambelt, so if you need to do the pump, it’ll need a cambelt as well. if/when it comes to that job, if they aren’t already fitted, I can’t rate the ARP camwheel bolts highly enough. They make the job so much easier than the dreadful OEM Torx bolts.1 point

I'm pretty sure the car was built by a father and son and was the second westfield they built and something they wanted to do together before I think it was the son that passed away but of course if I'm wrong I stand corrected. The car had all the right parts fitted money was no object nice brakes shocks diff even the engine was a brand new crate motor and was a lovely looking car when they finished it and it's still a lovely looking car but make checks on the chassis for cracks they are a big heavy engine so check the engine bay and around the diff cage and also the engine mounts .if you need to know where to look just ask I do like a v8 probably the best sounding westfield And they move well.1 point

It's not lego, but it did take me a decent amount of time. This little fella leads my army of toy soldiers, and for scale stands on a 50mm diameter base. All hand/brush painted, including the freehanded letters and number on the shoulder pad and banner. It's the most detailed thing I've ever painted, and I reckon there's maybe 30 hours in the painting. I really need a better way of photographing my models. Do any of the modelling community on here have any tips?1 point

I went for test drive today, and to hopefully buy the car today, but had a message from the owner on my way to say the weeping core plug had entirely failed when he took the car for a last drive. Unfortunately I had to turn around and go home. He’s going to fix it and hopefully get back in touch.0 points
