15 cars met at Whitworth Terrace Cafe and it was great to see so many faces that we haven't seen for a while, and lovely to see our regulars too of course. We had a good chat on the terrace. Very difficult to photograph so many cars with stupid lamp posts in the way but here we are in the Whitworth car park We had a special visitor with us today (thanks Lee B), here is Natalia (and Froggy hiding behind her back) with her car, a wonderful young lady full of enthusiasm, she loves cars and going to car shows with her friend Bobby, thanks to her dad for filming us as we left x Allan bought his Westfield out that has been refurbished to exacting standards and now contains a 2.3 Duratec engine. It was an absolute stunner and he was deservedly proud to show it to us all, WOW. We set off on our run out, straight through Bakewell which had EMPTY roads! then off onto the quiet lanes and up high for great views, this took us to The Cow Shed. Those that had not followed my directions were already there waiting for us, hey ho, Wormhill will be there for another day. The roast beef and Yorkshire puddings were eaten al fresco We needed sweet treats next so we dropped down to the Yondermann The Rocky Road was popular @aeg missed out, just sayin' Belgian Chocolate, plus it contained Crunchie pieces, oh my Don't worry Glen, there are no fingerprints on that roll over bar, I am better trained than that Thank you to everyone for coming today, it's been just fabulous to see you all. The roads were quiet, the sun was warm and the cars ran well. For those that are not at Silverstone next weekend, it is a Bank Holiday and we will be out avoiding the tourist hot spots, see you then!7 points

My first run out since last September ๐ and what a great run it was ๐a measly 116 miles for me, but considering my car was driven 5 miles for an mot and not been touched since last year it did everything I expected, thanks Julie and Glen for bringing us all together, hopefully see you all next weekend ๐5 points

Quite an eventful outing today. 4 of us met up at the Buffers and left dead on time to meet up with the others at the Riverside. Deciding to take the direct route along the A64 instead of the more scenic one, all was well until we hit the duel carriage way and my temperature gauge was heading towards 100ยฐ. Carrying on and it was soon off the scale so I thought I'd better stop and have a look. Taking the bonnet off, I could see there was no radiator cap on. I'd checked the levels before leaving home and forgotten to replace it. Luckily it had fallen onto the plug leads and stopped there. Topping up with a litre of water I had got us under way for around 10 miles, then I had to stop again. More water added from the washer bottle and we were off again arriving at the Riverside about 20 minutes late. Next problem, the pub was shut. A quick Google found an open pub 5 minutes away. All starving by now so Full English all round. After a fill up of food and, more importantly, water, we set off for Helmsley. Nice roads with no traffic, I'd set my satnav for our destination in Scarborough, actively ignoring it until I turned right towards Malton instead of left to Helmsley. Not realising at first, I just carried on. Hitting Malton, we managed to get split up in traffic and traffic lights and 8 cars became 4, with the other 4 splitting up into pairs. The 4, me, @Breakable?, @Nicholas Rycroft, @Dylan managed to spin round and join up with @Jill sutcliffe and @MGG along the A64 that I was trying to avoid! So we carried on to our final destination of "Olivers on the Mount" which surprisingly is a cafe on Olivers Mount in with spectacular views of Scarborough. We had to go the long way round as a hill climb was taking place, but as we arrived in the car park @Marcus Barlow - Show and Events Co-ordinator and @Gareth D (GAZ 4885) got there at the same time. @ColinH made it in time for tea and cakes. Heading home is easier, we all know where we live, or should do, so we took the scenic route from Bridlington to Stamford Bridge and the A64 again. Thanks to all who came and sorry for the delays and changing routes.5 points

Like all my projects, this one is running behind time and over budget ๐คฃ. Finally finished painting the walls, looks loads brighter. Next stop floor, should be getting the paint next week. Then build some shelves and another work bench for car stuff and we are away. Reminder of the โbeforeโ below, and now.5 points

Iโm wondering if the club could rent some proper scales for Malvern next year, and charge owners ยฃ10 per weigh with the proceeds going to charity.3 points

Now I just need to be careful not to spend more on glue than I would have done on a new pair of crocs ๐คช3 points

Yeah, some good rubber cement would be better than Araldite, although how durable, well who knows. You need to test this before bringing it to the worldwide market @Stuart Davis AO - Devon Cornwall & Somerset get it right and a multimillion fortune awaits ๐3 points

Luckily, mine had only fallen off the rocker cover and was stopped by the plug leads after about 25 miles.2 points

I've done that myself, luckily I heard it bounce off the floor about 50 yards from the drive ๐คฆโโ๏ธ๐2 points

Well I know about power to weight, but pies to weight is a new one on me! How many British Hot Pies per Stone?1 point
-
I had mine weigh (well actually 4-wheel alignment done) by NMS last year and it came in at 680Kg. Which I thought was pretty good for a weighty V8... I'd be over the moon with 540Kg as it means more pies for the driver ๐คฃ1 point

The answer isโฆ how long is a piece of string? The only way you can know for sure is to ask the weighbridge operators. It could be off by up to 5%, though.1 point

A few pictures from the weekend away. Weather was fantastic, however the roads were very busy and congested pretty much everywhere. That was until we hit the border on the way home, where the roads were quite and the rain started! Can't believe what Ford have done with their history. And like any good Scotsman, I held onto my money and took some long distance pictures of the Stonehenge instead ๐1 point

They are quite springy ๐. Might have to break out the araldite though, not sure the hot melt is going to hold ๐ฌ1 point

Spotted this yesterday so it would have been rude not to pop over for an hour or so to represent the Club. Great to see a few members come along with their cars so hopefully we will get a few of them in the next edition! Jack was there to do a feature on Toybox and also the grey FW they have for sale. After he had taken a few shots, he took the car for a quick test drive and seemed to really enjoy it. I then offered to take Jack for a quick spin in mine as he'd not been in a MegaS2000.... he got to experience me giving it the full berries down the lanes, hopefully he enjoyed it ๐ While I was there, I also managed to snap myself a few arty shots with the trusty phone1 point

All my photos are taken with my smartphone, admittedly it's the expensive S23 Ultra but nothing out of the ordinary. The sensor and lens technology in modern phones are really superb, they have so many settings that you probably don't even know are there. I'm still playing around with different angles and settings..... lots don't work! ๐ Here's a few extra ones. Love this one I took of a Lola T70 at Donington A couple of recent shots at Toybox Ferrari 246SP (one of only 6 ever made) I spotted at Donington Again at Donny of a 1954 Lister Bristol Amusing one of someone praying at the racecar altar ๐1 point
