  1. All my photos are taken with my smartphone, admittedly it's the expensive S23 Ultra but nothing out of the ordinary. The sensor and lens technology in modern phones are really superb, they have so many settings that you probably don't even know are there. I'm still playing around with different angles and settings..... lots don't work! 😂 Here's a few extra ones. Love this one I took of a Lola T70 at Donington A couple of recent shots at Toybox Ferrari 246SP (one of only 6 ever made) I spotted at Donington Again at Donny of a 1954 Lister Bristol Amusing one of someone praying at the racecar altar 😂

  8. My garage roof has needed replacing for a while. It is corrugated asbestos cement sheets and leaks in a number of places. I have two garages from a block of four on our property and the owner of the other two has led getting this sorted, as much as anything because he is a builder! I spent the last few days clearing my garages out, so the lawn and our garden room currently look like a bombsite. Last week we had scaffolding erected behind the garages to allow access, and today a specialist company came to remove the old roofing and were done by around 1pm. Pretty hideous work in this heat wearing masks and suits etc, rather them than me! Some strengthening/replacement work is needed on the beams which should be done by mid morning, then it will be on with the new roof. I shall be acting as labourer, mainly helping get the new sheets up on the roof while he does the technical bits 🤣. We are basically replacing with similar look sheets but with a clear panel above each garage for better lighting. Whilst everything is empty, I’m also thinking of sealing the floor and white washing the walls so it all looks brighter and to keep the dust down. Hopefully it will be a much more workable and pleasant environment for both the car and DIY. Will post some more pics up as we progress. Cleared and ready Roof gone!

  10. For sale is my well loved Westfield which was Factory built in 1998. I have owned the car for 22 years being the third owner. It was built and sold to the first owner and then Westfield bought it back as second owner who I believe used it as a demonstrator for a few months. I then purchased this in August 2002. The mileage is currently 24,127. This car is fitted with a Scholar built 1800 Zetec engine, producing 174 bhp. The car is a widebody version and has fully independent suspension, Lightweight flywheel, MT75 gearbox with a short shift linkage. In my time, the car has always been garaged and never tracked. Always driven on dry days unless unintentionally caught out in the rain. I have always taken it off the road between November and March every year to avoid any exposure to salt. The car benefits from the following upgrades and replaced parts: Earlier this year, I replaced the timing belt, pulley and auxiliary belt. Five new Michelin Pilot tyres in 2022 which have seen less than 2k miles. Raceline shallow sump fitted in 2022. Fuel lines replaced over last few years. Procomp full set of Dampers and springs fitted. Large MSA style roll bar from Playskool Motorsport which is approx three inch taller than the Westfield version. LED high level brake light. Original seats replaced with Westfield Sports Turbo seats. Red piping and emblem. Cigar lighter electric point installed for Satnav, phone charger etc. The car also has a quick release removable leather steering wheel, immobiliser, four point Willans red harnesses and Westfield Oil Catch tank all factory fitted. It’s fully carpeted and has a heater and floor mounted pedals. I have a full tonneau, half tonneau, half hood and bespoke roof struts. Full doors, half doors and wind deflectors. Softbits tunnel pocket included. It has been well maintained, regularly serviced and mot’d and enjoyed each year. All Full service history and documentation confirming this is available for the new owner. MOT expires 10/09/2025. Full year of happy motoring ahead. Westfield themselves maintained and serviced the car for many years for me and then more recently I have used local independent mechanics. The car has been totally reliable throughout its time and only ever let me down once when the accelerator cable snapped about 15 years ago which of course was an easy fix. I have been a member of the club for over two decades ( over two membership numbers ) and so the car is known to some of the local members and has been complimented on many an occasion. I am asking just £9,900 as I feel the car is in very good condition for its age so this represents good value for money and hope that the new owner enjoys the car as much as I have over the years ahead. I don’t want any silly offers so genuine interest only please. No test pilots! Reason for sale is that I have pondered a change on and off for the last few years and have now already purchased a replacement having fancied a change and something different. So the time to sell is now. Other points: Drivers carpet “mat” has a wear hole but I do have a rubber insert which came from Westfield which could be fitted. I have included a picture of a scrape in the gel coat on the rear passenger removeable wheel arch. Both rear wheel arch fronts have the normal stone chips in view of the age and mileage ( most normally fit guards to cover these. ) The windscreen uprights powder coating has flaked off on the lower half so would benefit by a tidy up. About 18 years ago Westfield changed the standard roll bar to Rac type. That put a small crack in the shoulder of the body. I left this for years and then put red silicone sealant on it to make it less noticeable. It’s not a hole so probably could be glued back and packed so that the roll bar fixing does not compress it further …I just never got round to sorting it.

  11. I'm heading back down to Englandshire tomorrow for the Great British motor show at Farnborough on Friday and then the Haynes car museum on Saturday. Hopefully the weather down there will be good and the show isn't just ev's. According to my mate, who's driving there was talk of some Kitcars too. Think we're swinging past Stonehenge too, I've never been.

  12. Some pics from last night. Plenty of laps in which was excellent. Car ran well except a loose crankcase breather and broken offside cycle wing bracket. Nothing that couldn’t be repaired temporarily with a trusty cable tie!

  15. My stepdaughter lives in Beaulieu opposite the palace across the river. Beaulieu is a lovely place and there's often a motor show going on there. My advice if you do go is to be prepared for the possibility of donkeys blocking the roads, or "donkey jams" as the locals call them, and as cute as they may be, don't touch or feed them as you'll get a hefty fine. Also expect absolutely rubbish mobile signal strength unless you're on EE as Lord Montigue won't entertain mobile phone masts in Beaulieu.

  17. It's "Simply Fords" at Beaulieu on Sunday. Went last year and it was a very good event with every Ford known to man pretty much. Plus some great stands/suppliers. Maybe delay your return trip for this event too https://www.beaulieu.co.uk/events/simply-ford/

  18. New MOT obtained yesterday with no advisory’s and covers all the way through to 10th September 2025. A good , well cared for car which has been extremely reliable over the years. Will consider sensible offers…. Thanks.

  21. Thanks for the invite, love to but we are heading back home on Saturday. Plus I'm not sure how a Toyota people carrier would look behind you all, even a posh one. More of a support vehicle, to eat any left over cake. 😆

  24. It's actually owned by a friend of mine. Allan has taken over 2 years (with huge help from local member Ben Hudson) to convert the car..... The car started life as a 1990's CVH engined (on carbs) SEIW car that had red bodywork and swept wings. It now has full FW bodywork, homemade 50mm wider rear arches, Prodev 2.3 forged and ported Duratec on huge ITB's, custom Lotus Exige instruments, new loom with Emerald K6 engine ECU, rear drums converted to discs, upgraded to alloy hubs, big brake kit on the front, lightweight flywheel, competition paddle clutch etc etc etc. A few other local members have also helped Ben and Allan in the background too. I've helped a little too, mainly as a "phone a friend" occasionally and been an extra pair of hands when getting the engine fitted. A real labour of love, it's a stunning motor that was only finished a few weeks ago. Hopefully Allan will be joining the club soon and we will get more photos of the car 👍

  25. Was in a similar situation a couple of years ago, the asbestos corrugated roof was replaced with a steel one which looks much better and is weather proof. What is currently driving me crazy is that every time I’m working in the garage, one or more pigeons are landing and walking over the roof, making a racket. I’ve got a pole I use to bash on the underside of the roof to frighten them away. i also have a neighbour whose eight year-old son is football mad, and if one his errant kicks lands his football on the roof, the noise inside the garage is incredible. Disappointingly, I’m told I can’t use the same pole on the eight year-old. Pity.

  26. Front fascia boards fitted. Rear boards done too, just the guttering to do once the scaffolding is removed. We’ve decided to finish the sides in the same way as the front but need to order another four boards for that and I’ll have to pick them up from Bridgewater next week. Done for the day. Need to give the garage a good sweep out, then perhaps I will whitewash the walls at some point this weekend. Floor paint should be available later in the week so perhaps that’s a job for next weekend! I’ll make a start on building my shelving tomorrow too. Next project, when we’ve recovered is to paint the garage doors!

  27. Good progress today. We got a bit delayed by confusion over whether the boards were ‘handed’ or not. At one stage, to be more efficient, we decided to cut the corners off three boards at once and just turn one of them round. Big mistake! It turns out that they do need to be run in the same direction otherwise the corrugations (is that a word?) don’t quite match up. This cost us a fair bit of time phaffing around trying to work out what was going wrong and having to turn heavy boards around whilst up on the roof. Anyway, I reckon we are 80% done now. Just one run with a clear panel in it, and then two solid runs to finish. We will need to cut the last two runs down to fit the width but have a good angle grinder so that shouldn’t take long and at least they will be lighter to lift up. It is heavy going in this heat with no shade up there to speak of. We are trying to do things diligently, putting mastic across the joints and ensuring the clear panels are fixed correctly. Hopefully it won’t leak! Pleased with how it looks though and we should be all done tomorrow including sorting the edge boards and guttering. Winston is keen to be back in his new home! Might have to be temporary for a while until the walls and floor are done. First clear panel done Much better lighting with the two panels Let me in already! Done for the day

  28. HUGE mistake telling people you’ve retired. That’s when everyone who needs a free favour knows you have spare time. Basically, you’re working just as hard but not getting paid.
