It's actually owned by a friend of mine. Allan has taken over 2 years (with huge help from local member Ben Hudson) to convert the car..... The car started life as a 1990's CVH engined (on carbs) SEIW car that had red bodywork and swept wings. It now has full FW bodywork, homemade 50mm wider rear arches, Prodev 2.3 forged and ported Duratec on huge ITB's, custom Lotus Exige instruments, new loom with Emerald K6 engine ECU, rear drums converted to discs, upgraded to alloy hubs, big brake kit on the front, lightweight flywheel, competition paddle clutch etc etc etc. A few other local members have also helped Ben and Allan in the background too. I've helped a little too, mainly as a "phone a friend" occasionally and been an extra pair of hands when getting the engine fitted. A real labour of love, it's a stunning motor that was only finished a few weeks ago. Hopefully Allan will be joining the club soon and we will get more photos of the car π4 points

Fantastic couple of days at Blyton, glorious sunshine 90% of the time. Small group of wscc with some very good times ( not from me I am a tad slower). Big thanks to David Smith, I managed to forget my gloves, but he had a spare pair to loan me and then my alternator packed up, so he lent me an extension lead and I was able to charge the battery between laps. Does that make my westy a plug in hybrid?4 points

Whatβs interesting to me is the new Westfield logo being used, which makes it fairly recent.2 points

Actually think these pictures are beyond professional, should be in a magazine or even a book! There goes my chances of a 2025 calendar entry π2 points

Great run today to Llyn Brenig, on the EVO triangle. Farmer John and Mary, in their XE Westie, not running too well, misfire and down on power. Needs some more tlc. Ray and Sue in the V8 Toybox Westie, nice, sounds great. Steve in his Porsche Boxter, metallic grey, convertible, good looking car. Jeff in his MX5. He sold his V8 Westie to Toybox, have a look at the Friday walk-a-round, still there. And me, trying to keep up with the others. Not too hard really, V8's rule. Yes, a mix of cars. But when a leading club member, for over 20 years, asks if he can come in his new road car? Of course he can.2 points

Yes it was a moving watch. Especially the Tommy's marching with smiles on their faces and the ceremony for the unknown soldier at the unveiling of the Cenotaph. I'd like to go back to Ypres once the work on the Menin gate is finished and see it in its full glory.1 point

The most recent and final photo of my car whilst on my property, Andy has purchased the car and is already a member, he will be posting stuff as and when. Very sad to see the car go, but with all my medical issues going on I simply am unable to get in and out of it. The Herald is it's replacement and I will carry on with my garage build posts when my skin issues get better, darn seasonal reactions to pollen sets me off really badly , with my face swelling up and causing my eyes to close , it's taken me 15 mins to type this , lol, with my half an eye open... anyway less of my complaints and hope everyone has a great summer in the cars and I will remain a member going forward. Goodbye Westy you were fantastic.1 point

Cheers all. Having an amazing time in Borneo! I love wildlife, and after just one daytime and one night time hike, I have come across several snakes up close so I'm in my element Female pit viper Vine snake More vipers Just to note, most of these snakes were within reaching distance! Travelling to east Borneo in a couple of days to see the Orangutans.1 point

I hope so, be good if he was prepared to give some tips on where he sourced that spoiler.1 point

Thanks again Ian. It would be nice if the driver fitted in the same place (the base of the light), but I do have the option of enlarging the ceiling hole and stuffing it in there if it came down to it. That amazon link looks a lot like what I had in mind as well, but wasn't sure about. As long as I stick to those same output parameters then I can just use any dimming compatible driver right? Richard, I'm sorry you're having health issues. Thank you for the reply, but I'm not sure what I can do with that information?1 point

I can't type very well, but I will copy and paste a dimmer that may work?, I retired as a full time sparky some years ago and did used to fit these, sometimes they work and sometimes they didn't - it was all down to the type of driver fitted. A copy paste text to save my hands. ------- Trailing edge or LED ready dimmers have been designed specifically for use with LED light bulbs. As such, they share a number of characteristics that make them much more compatible, such as comparable wattage ranges and inherently digital makeup. The required wattages for these dimmers are much lower, making them more compatible with the lower wattage of LED light bulbs. Again though, trailing edge dimmers CAN also be used to dim traditional incandescent light bulbs if the wattage tolerances are still met, and they do this more effectively than using a leading-edge dimmer to dim LED light bulbs. The best way to avoid confusion here is to check which dimmers are compatible with a certain type of light bulb. Most manufacturers rigorously test their products for compatibility with a range of dimmer switches and the results are normally readily available on their respective websites. ------1 point

Saw that Shelley special at Loton Park a couple of weeks ago. It looks like a barn find !! Itβs got a transverse engine and itβs supercharged. Goes quite well too !!!1 point

I can assure you I'm no professional! All these are just from the trusty mobile, the camera quality and standard editing software on a normal phone is amazing these days π1 point

Wow, it was a hot one today! With a few of the locals at Mallory for the Really Retro meet and me changing plans at the last minute I wasn't sure if anyone would be joining me. Thankfully, James, Lee and Hedley made the trip so we had a nice line up. Minutes later we spotted a nice GBS Zero pull in.... not recognising the car, we did the normal introductions and invited Mark to park with us. I had promised a local Instagram photographer a passenger ride in the Westfield after meeting him some time ago. Terry donned his shades and jumped in for a bit of hooning on the roundabouts of the adjacent industrial estate, he loved it and now understands what makes our little lightweight cars so much fun π We wandered down the paddock to fund it full of interesting cars, hot hatches, Westfields, Caterhams, Minis, Escorts and a load of Austin 7 Specials. It was now a gazillion degrees Celsius so we headed home for lunch. As James was going in a similar direction we took the opportunity to head to the quiet B roads to stretch the legs.... James' newly supercharged MX5 engine certainly gets a wriggle on, hanging on really well in the mirrors!1 point

I had a bimble down to West Bay with Lorna today to kill a few hours while Mrs Stu was busy. We happened across this nice display of classic cars along the promenade which I think I enjoyed alot more than Lorna π€£. Compensation came in the shape of a fun half hour on the beach, watching the paragliders over the cliffs and the obligatory ice cream from Baboo π1 point

Yes I have a photo opportunity place in mind, it's stunning but I need James Dyson's permission as people live there. I know his groundskeeper and gamekeeper so I may ask them. Or maybe I'll just risk it, after all it's easier to beg forgiveness than get permission right? π1 point

I have entered and hope that I'll be able to make it although at the time of writing I'd struggle with the drive up. A fantastic track, by far the best in the Speed Series.1 point
