We stayed in Ypres and toured the area for a few days last year. I was brought to tears a few times. Fortunate to see a rare appearance of the band of the Grenadier Guards at the Menin Gate too

Just watched this and found it amazing the lengths the Dutch people go to, recovering and showing respect to the War dead. Very touching. I had the honour of attending the Last Post at the Menin Gate this year at the end of our Euro trip and found that quite emotional too. Lest we forget.

I`ve just bought a pre Lit Mk2 Westfield and need some advice. It needs a radiator, new hood (with fixings) and some other odds and ends. Could i be pointed in the right direction please. Cheers and Thanks

I've not visited the war graves at Normandy, but we did go to Dunkirk and yes seeing the ages of the soldiers was humbling. My son is 19. I'll save the video for later.

I think what got me the most was discovering that there are 350,000 with no known grave. So many headstones just say 'A soldier of the Great War'. As for finding graves of 16 & 17 year olds...... If you haven't seen this before then be warned it is very likely to bring a tear.

Oh, seeing the Grenadier Guards must've been a special moment. There was a group of old soldiers who stood to attention throughout the ceremony and a school choir from England sang Abide with me. They were very good and brought us both to tears too. I went back the following morning when it was quiet and got some pictures.

That was an eventful days racing........ First race run didn’t go to plan with an ‘off’ that caused some (understatement…) mechanical issues that weren’t fully apparent until we’d pushed back up to the top: Broken spoke Broken rear mech Bent chain Deflated tyre Still, she’d managed to complete the run to get a time on the board. So with not much time to get the bike fixed before the second race run the team (me a mate & his wife!) jumped into action! With Darren sorting a tube out for the deflated tyre (spoke through the rim tape….), Alison gave me a lift home to fetch a spare rear mech, cable and other bits if needed – I didn’t have a spare chain though… So with tyre fixed, rear mech fitted and chain straightened as best we could, she made it just in time for category start – great effort, thank you so much guys!! Second run went a lot better but still taken as a ‘safe’ run due to the slightly dodgy chain and ‘roughly’ set up gears. Still finished with a 2nd place, but a fair way back due to the cautious run. So this week I will be mostly buying new parts, some spares and fixing a bike.......
