I had a bimble down to West Bay with Lorna today to kill a few hours while Mrs Stu was busy. We happened across this nice display of classic cars along the promenade which I think I enjoyed alot more than Lorna 🤣. Compensation came in the shape of a fun half hour on the beach, watching the paragliders over the cliffs and the obligatory ice cream from Baboo 👍7 points

When I started here I had to Google 'blat', I got the context, but it's a word just not used up here. Maybe we could have a local dialect dictionary added to the Faq's section 😆3 points

As usual a great day out driving on good roads, in great cars, with great people. 👍 sorry I don’t have and driving photos, but I was using my phone as a satnav, until my fat fingers deleted the route halfway round. plus Face ID don't work well with a helmet on and my thumb is too short to reach all the keys. Hope to see you all soon.2 points

A Great Big Thanks from us @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative it’s been too long since we’ve been out on a peaky run, thanks to all for making it a memorable day, such a great bunch of easy going people to have fun conversations with. Here’s some of our photos from the day The open roads beckon even the tractors moved over !!!! today we were sandwiched between @Glynn Walters and @si_salisbury so all we got was whoosh noises from turbos ( talk about boys being boys 🤣) at the cupola cafe and I agree with @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO about parking !!! Dump it and run, @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative standards for parking are beginning to slip 🤪 when we all split to go home I followed @Andy Westwood who promptly found a steam traction engine and trailer 🙄 Mr Westwood does that look like a solid white line!!!!!🤔 Take care guys and see you all soon A&B2 points

Standard fuel gauge readings: Full = full Full with a twitching needle = 3/4 full 3/4 full = just over 1/2 full 1/2 full = 1/3 full 1/3 full with twitching needle = 1/4 full 1/4 full = look for fuel 1/4 full with a twitching needle = look for fuel NOW Under 1/4 full = what are you playing at?!? Avoid roundabouts and right turns to prevent fuel starvation 1/8 full = you’re out of fuel and have time to post in the “Sharing what you’ve just done. Not questions. No comments required.” thread2 points

Had a very pleasant Saturday morning at the Fairmile in Cobham with the Cobham Car Club (FB Page). Tagged along with the Surrey Capri Club. Will post up next meet date here (assume early Sept). Really good selection of cars, friendly atmosphere and good bacon/sausage baps! I'll be at Cranleigh on the 11th (again with the Surrey Capri Club) if anyone else is going to be there.1 point

Yes, that is good. We don't always start at the museum but we are not far away from Matlock wherever we start. No meet next weekend but should be one the weekend after and one at the English Bank Holiday. Don't book anything without checking though because all this is weather dependant and subject to change1 point

9 cars met at the car musem and parked in the overflow car park to keep the scooters happy. I was parked in formation but someone Mr Bagpuss decided my handbrake needed tickling, revenge was had later!😮😁twice Breakfast at the museum, where we are made so very welcome, they love us coming and we love to come @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO trying to earn brownie points, with 3D printed parts, so my revenge is not too harsh With the scooters gone the next batch of cars arrive, DeLorean's and Supercars Parked in our favourite spot, an Alpha Romea Giulietta Spider (I googled that, I can't spell it😃) We went on our run out, got a few spots of drizzle as we glanced Buxton and arrived at Cupola cafe warm and dry. We had made good progress, had good views and enjoyed the country roads off the tourist route. Cupola's owner came out to greet us and counted us before scurrying inside to sort a table out for 13 people, we were treat like royalty. Parked at Cupola Inside Cupola The food is excellent quality there and is cooked right in front of you Meatballs are pure beef and not silly sausage meat Jake guarding my car just in case there is any mischeif with my handbrake Parked at Cupola Someone has to park separately, just like last week🫠. Watch out for steering wheel thieves, my revenge was taken not once but twice, it's like taking candy from kids After a fantastic lunch, the desire for sugar kicked in, so 4 left turns later and we arrived at Quackers Cafe When in Bakewell, eat Bakewell slices, made in the bakery on the premises, do I have to tell you how nice it is😋 That was the end of the day for some. For us, Glynn had selflessly offered to let me try his seat out in my car before we decided what style to buy, so we followed Glynn home. I now have Glynn's passenger seat as my driver's seat. How kind is that of Glynn? Here is the result view from the rear shows how much higher the new seat is when we got home we made sure the half hood still fitted, and it does baby quackers left in my car, I suspect a cat has been playing again Which just about sums up the day, a jolly good laugh, lots of fun with some serious driving too, food not bad either, THANK YOU everyone for making it happen xxxxxxxxxxx1 point

My daughter has gotten in to Down Hill Mountain Bike Racing recently so decided I needed to build her a race bike..... The bike was built from good second hand bargains and bits I had in the spares box - only new parts were tyres, grips, saddle and bearings. All in for just short of £800 - a lot cheaper than a new one at around £3k!! Took it on holiday to Scotland to test it out. Where better than a full blown World Cup track - Nevis Range, Fort William. She has her first race tomorrow at the local Down Hill trails.1 point
