9 cars met at the car musem and parked in the overflow car park to keep the scooters happy. I was parked in formation but someone Mr Bagpuss decided my handbrake needed tickling, revenge was had later!😮😁twice Breakfast at the museum, where we are made so very welcome, they love us coming and we love to come @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO trying to earn brownie points, with 3D printed parts, so my revenge is not too harsh With the scooters gone the next batch of cars arrive, DeLorean's and Supercars Parked in our favourite spot, an Alpha Romea Giulietta Spider (I googled that, I can't spell it😃) We went on our run out, got a few spots of drizzle as we glanced Buxton and arrived at Cupola cafe warm and dry. We had made good progress, had good views and enjoyed the country roads off the tourist route. Cupola's owner came out to greet us and counted us before scurrying inside to sort a table out for 13 people, we were treat like royalty. Parked at Cupola Inside Cupola The food is excellent quality there and is cooked right in front of you Meatballs are pure beef and not silly sausage meat Jake guarding my car just in case there is any mischeif with my handbrake Parked at Cupola Someone has to park separately, just like last week🫠. Watch out for steering wheel thieves, my revenge was taken not once but twice, it's like taking candy from kids After a fantastic lunch, the desire for sugar kicked in, so 4 left turns later and we arrived at Quackers Cafe When in Bakewell, eat Bakewell slices, made in the bakery on the premises, do I have to tell you how nice it is😋 That was the end of the day for some. For us, Glynn had selflessly offered to let me try his seat out in my car before we decided what style to buy, so we followed Glynn home. I now have Glynn's passenger seat as my driver's seat. How kind is that of Glynn? Here is the result view from the rear shows how much higher the new seat is when we got home we made sure the half hood still fitted, and it does baby quackers left in my car, I suspect a cat has been playing again Which just about sums up the day, a jolly good laugh, lots of fun with some serious driving too, food not bad either, THANK YOU everyone for making it happen xxxxxxxxxxx10 points

My daughter has gotten in to Down Hill Mountain Bike Racing recently so decided I needed to build her a race bike..... The bike was built from good second hand bargains and bits I had in the spares box - only new parts were tyres, grips, saddle and bearings. All in for just short of £800 - a lot cheaper than a new one at around £3k!! Took it on holiday to Scotland to test it out. Where better than a full blown World Cup track - Nevis Range, Fort William. She has her first race tomorrow at the local Down Hill trails.7 points

A Great Big Thanks from us @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative it’s been too long since we’ve been out on a peaky run, thanks to all for making it a memorable day, such a great bunch of easy going people to have fun conversations with. Here’s some of our photos from the day The open roads beckon even the tractors moved over !!!! today we were sandwiched between @Glynn Walters and @si_salisbury so all we got was whoosh noises from turbos ( talk about boys being boys 🤣) at the cupola cafe and I agree with @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO about parking !!! Dump it and run, @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative standards for parking are beginning to slip 🤪 when we all split to go home I followed @Andy Westwood who promptly found a steam traction engine and trailer 🙄 Mr Westwood does that look like a solid white line!!!!!🤔 Take care guys and see you all soon A&B6 points

I had a bimble down to West Bay with Lorna today to kill a few hours while Mrs Stu was busy. We happened across this nice display of classic cars along the promenade which I think I enjoyed alot more than Lorna 🤣. Compensation came in the shape of a fun half hour on the beach, watching the paragliders over the cliffs and the obligatory ice cream from Baboo 👍4 points

As usual a great day out driving on good roads, in great cars, with great people. 👍 sorry I don’t have and driving photos, but I was using my phone as a satnav, until my fat fingers deleted the route halfway round. plus Face ID don't work well with a helmet on and my thumb is too short to reach all the keys. Hope to see you all soon.4 points

Standard fuel gauge readings: Full = full Full with a twitching needle = 3/4 full 3/4 full = just over 1/2 full 1/2 full = 1/3 full 1/3 full with twitching needle = 1/4 full 1/4 full = look for fuel 1/4 full with a twitching needle = look for fuel NOW Under 1/4 full = what are you playing at?!? Avoid roundabouts and right turns to prevent fuel starvation 1/8 full = you’re out of fuel and have time to post in the “Sharing what you’ve just done. Not questions. No comments required.” thread3 points

Best David Attenborough voice… ”And here we find “The Wench”, a Westfield SEi in Post Office Red, now recovered from her recent mechanical maladies and looking resplendent in her full plumage, displayed in her frequent natural habitat, the country pub, after a spirited blat.” It’s times like these when I fall in love with her all over again. 🥰2 points

The time has come to part ways with my crossflow I rebuilt the engine approximately 10 years ago from the ground up... something like 7000 miles in that time She's a 1696cc 711M block. 1300 90 thou oversize pistons (the 1300 pistons increase the compression ratio) Duplex timing chain, piper 285 ultimate road camshaft. Custom built inlet manifold (bogg brothers) and zx6r bike carbs. Distributor blanking plate and trigger wheel fitted to the front crank pulley. Still fitted is the crank sensor with custom bracket. The carbs have been set up by bogg brothers to perfection, that combined with 3D ignition management (nodiz) makes it feel, run and start like a modern engine. I removed it in January, having now successfully switched to a Ford st170 engine. It's something I always wanted to do, although I'm having 2nd thoughts because I built a monster lol. The xlfow in the tune truly is a wonderful lump for a westy! Any questions welcome, unsure what it's worth! I'd be happy at 1000 with the exhaust manifold. Ecu not included but could perhaps strike a deal (still have the Map saved)1 point

Do you always meet up at the museum? It seems an ideal place, with the large parking area and the cafe too. Plus you could always recoup some petrol money by doing the Drive your dad's Westfield.1 point

Awe brilliant turn out and looks like you got the weather. Might need to join you one of these day's though you're 4.5hrs away. Little Alfa is beautiful, reminds me of some Abarths I saw at the Geneva Motor show.1 point

I think that's more likely a BDA cam cover rather than head? I saw one in a Seven at Castle Combe and it looked amazing. Was considering one myself but just for cosmetics I'm not sure it's worth the hassle or cost as I think you have to buy new plugs leads too? It did look great though have to say.1 point

TADTS - They all do that, sir! Fuel gauge is there simply for amusement purposes. Always use and reset the trip odometer after refuelling. I don’t let mine go past 110 miles before refuelling.1 point

Well now I know and no damage done. Got a trip and end of month so I'm prepared1 point

Hey Chris, We have already spoken on the phone about the engine. I'm still interested in the engine. I'll send you a PM. Greetings Patrick1 point

I'm baffled as to what word has been censored there? What could be so bad about a dash? 😁 Answers on a postcard please....1 point

Well done @Craigieboy! don't eat them all at once, you should share them round the rest of the group, there are only a few thousand of us! 😂1 point

Nice one. Full down hill is quite scary! I used to do a lot of cross country on a full sus bike and that was enough for me 😬. I'm about an hour away from Glentress an used to visit there weekly, I'm still down often, but now driving past the the excellent roads in that area. Good luck with the bike 👍1 point

That is mega @cjwood23. Long while since I bothered the Nevis Range and don't even have a DH bike any more. Hope to take my daughters there one day.1 point

@Flying Carrot Steve The model is a Platinum lift MSL3, all the scissor lift seem to be the same size just branded differently. Yes, the wheels are off at the back but there is a piece of timber along the underside picking it up off the edge along the lowered floors, it’s as steady as a rock up there, the engine acts as a counter weight.1 point

The weather was fantastic which means only one thing.... loads of cars. What a fabulous turnout we had, sitting in the sunshine with 12 kits and Dels TR6 in the car park! Over 20 of us on the picnic benches (it was far too hot to sit in our normal upstairs room....), we even had three lovely, well behaved dogs come along too 😂 We were joined for the first time by Ady and Lisa who have just bought a lovely Zetec Westfield and joined the club. Welcome to you both, hope you enjoyed the evening 👍 A few snaps of the beautiful cars....1 point

Found it @Craigieboy ! Now I know what your personal message is about 😂😂 When you are as old as me you tend to have been through a few, also in the 80s we crashed a lot, no speed cameras, police etc and the cars were pretty crap by today's standards! 🤣 I had a ton of Ford's through my younger years. Mk1, 2, 3 and 4 Escorts, same with Cortinas, my 1st ever car was Ford Corsair, 1700 V4 with column gear change. I blew it up on the M5. Also had more than one Granada. Probably loads more that I can't even remember.1 point
