There was a distinct lack of real sevens at the car museum with only 4 Caterhams in the car park. Ian and I spoke to Nick who is the Derby/Notts/Leics AO of the Caterham Club and he is keen for us to meet up, so I passed him my business card and when they come to the museum next time we will try again. The WSCC put on a magnificent display of 13 cars and I thank you all for making that happen, very proud to be in this club and out with you all. Breakfast at the museum Parked at the museum only just fitted on the panorama shot A 13 car convoy, plus a Jaaaag journeyed through the Peak District, unbelievably we all arrived at the Bentley Brook pub together, perhaps I will put the route up beforehand more often. We comfortably fitted in the top car park someone had to put colour coding first and parked at the other side 😄 There was a carvery and a full menu to choose from, we all sat in the beer garden Next up the people that were heading back North drove the lovely Bentley Brook Road, which forms part of a quiet route right between the busy tourist areas, to land at the Peak Village in Rowsley, where we knew the car museum were exhibiting. We had a chat with them before persuing ice cream and cake. Here they are offering gift vouchers for the 'Drive Dad's Car' experience. Here we are having our treats Andy Westwood missed out on his favourite dessert Big Andy was a bit quick tucking into the lemon meringue, well he is called Andy! they have a reputation these Andy's Parked at the Peak Village Thank you for coming today everyone and showing the museum that we have a great, active club. I hope you have enjoyed the lovely Peak District roads and scenery as much as we have. Here are some last photo's of you at the Bentley Brook Inn.9 points

Mrs Stu and I helped with organising my Dad’s 90th Birthday party yesterday. My main contribution was erecting a canopy over the garden stretched between the house, and his old windsurfing mast which served as a flagpole. He did his national service in the Navy and has a lifelong love of the sea so we did a naval theme. I had to climb out of the bedroom window to drill bolts into the outside wall which was actually a lot less scary than I thought it would be. Most traumatic part of the day was definitely half an hour before the party was due to start, when I was trying to tension the canopy a little more and accidentally disconnected the main supporting wire instead! 🤣🤣 I was calling for help from the top of the ladder whilst desperately hanging onto it so it didn’t trash all the flowers underneath. Mrs Stu came to the rescue and I got it sorted with about ten minutes to spare 🤣. Party went well, happy Dad 👍6 points

A proper Westfield day today! A nice drive out thru Staffs & Shrops… The Danery at Quatford for a quick pint in the sun, then off to Ironbridge to The Swan Taphouse - parked up opposite & watched the world photograph the Westies & ignore the M4 & Porsche parked next to them. I know we’re biased but 🙏🫶🏼🥰👍🤛😘🍻 Sorry should have added - WITH the Legend that is @Terence Arthur 🍻5 points

Looking at your location you can’t be more than a a few miles from Siltech who would almost certainly be able to help you out with any chassis repairs. https://www.siltechracing.com4 points

Hi, I'm somewhat reluctantly advertising my Westfield for sale. It was built by a fairly wealthy retired chap in 2010 who had something of a 'gentleman racer' fantasy with the idea that he'd have a car that he could drive to the track, race and then subsequently drive home. As far as I know that idea remained something of a fantasy throughout his ownership, it never saw a starting line but he did build a really good car. Five years ago I wasn't really looking to buy a Westfield, just casually browsing the forum and stumbled across an advert for this car, once I'd viewed it, I realised it was too well built to miss out on and ended up buying it. The car is built on a 2010 Aerorace chassis power by a Zetec blacktop that was brand new at build date, the most recent rolling road graph I have shows 232bhp at the flywheel and 212bhp at the wheels £18,500. Full Specification 2010 Aerorace chassis with removable rear arches (chassis marginally lighter and stiffer than the road chassis of the same period) fully road legal and the same dimensions as the standard SEIW. 12000 miles It has an MOT for another 9 months. Black bodywork with carbon front arches, in very good but not unmarked condition. In that spec at the last setup session with about 1/2 tank of fuel it weighed just under to 572kg. Engine Built in 2010 with new Zetec Blacktop Head ported and polished by CNC heads and matched with their specification cam. Following this link ( http://www.cncheads.co.uk/?p=755 ) takes you to the website the tuner provides on this head and cam combination for more info, extrapolating the power claims CNC make ( 215bhp @ 6400rpm and 247 bhp @ 8200rpm) to the 7500rpm limit on this car fairly accurately supports the claimed power output on this engine. Arrow engineering buckets ARP rod bolts Balanced and polished crank Standard Zetec flywheel machined and lightened by CNC Heads Raceline sump Omex 600 ECU Jenvey throttle bodies Bosch green injectors Simpson Race Exhausts aluminium manifold 4 into 2 into 1 ( http://simpsonraceexhausts.com/manifolds/ ) Westfield carbon silencer Bespoke breathers all feeding into aluminium catch tank in the nose cone, although very little oil ever gets blown into the tank. Most importantly lots of time and effort spent mapping the engine. Despite it's relatively high state of tune it starts easily hot or cold, idles nicely and is generally very drivable and tractable with no grumpiness or nasty flat spots. In the interest of longevity the limiter is set at 7500 rpm at which point the power curve is still climbing. It also makes some lovely burbles and pops on the overrun. Centroid fuel sender which gives a better accurate fuel level reading. Cooling NEW black Aluminium race radiator from Radtec with 60mm core and Aerorace ducting ( http://radtec.co.uk/products/331/Vauxall-Ford-Cosworth.htm ) Custom pipe work and thermostat housing which ensures this car never has the cooling issues some Zetec Westfield suffer from, coolant temp is rock solid in both traffic and in hard use on track Custom carbon fibre air duct to radiator Drivetrain Custom carbon ducting Helix fast road clutch Rebuilt Sierra 3.92 LSD, no clunks or play and locks up nicely but not too aggressively. I actually prefer this diff to the ATB I had in a previous car, although it's not quite as tight at slow speeds for 1st gear sillyness that seems to result in it never 'pushing' the car into understeer in faster corners on track. I therefore prefer the way the car drives in comparison to car with a tighter diff, however it wouldn't be as useful in an autocross type scenario. BGH E8 type 9 gearbox. Ratios and price listed in the following link, this is the strongest and most expensive 'box BGP supply ( http://www.bghgeartech.co.uk/html/5_speed.html ). The ratios suit the engine very well with a usefully long first and 5th geared to a theoretical max of about 140mph. (Ratios are 2.66/1.75/1.26/1.00/0.86) Chassis Standard Aerorace chassis with associated extra bracing in comparison to same era road chassis, this car does not have lowered floors. Protech single adjustable shocks valved and setup by Procomp in Birmingham along with a full geometry setup, car runs with a reasonable amount of negative camber and some toe out at the front which gives a pretty sharp turn it, understeer isn't really something it understands! Anti roll bars are fitted to the front and rear 13 inch Compomotive CXR wheels in black with nearly new medium compound Toyo R888R in 205/50/13. Rallydesign Quickrack and sort steering arms fitted. Unlike some of the so called 'quickrack' setups I've seen this gives a real two turns lock to lock with the arches almost touching the tub on both sides on full lock, ie it's a genuine quick rack, not the version Westfield sell which is far from it and gives a terrible turning circle. Westfield alloy uprights both front and rear. Westfield widetrack front wishbones. Rapfix quick release steering boss has been fitted with a momo suede Mod.26 wheel Braking is a full AP racing setup including master cylinder and front and rear callipers. Fitted with Ferodo DS2500 pads and a brake bias adjuster. The car (in my opinion) drives beautifully, it's pointy, intuitive and hugely predictable but the setup is still relatively soft which means it's eminently useable as a road car with sensible ground clearance and great compliance while still being blisteringly quick on track. Other Bits Track prepared 13 inch ProRace 1.2 wheels in black with nearly new medium compound Toyo R888R in FRONT 185/50/13 REAR 205/50/13. Floor mounted Westfield padded race seats with 4 point Westfield harness for passenger and in date FIA 6 point harness for driver. Dash2Pro instrument Momo 280 suede steering wheel FIA approved Caged Roll Cage with homologation sticker. New plumbed in Lifeline2020 fire extinguisher system. Lifeline FIA rain light which is wired to additionally act as fog light for MOT purposes. FIA approved battery cut off switch (which doubles up as a good security addition. PowerLight lithium battery. 8 Channel Freewheel system installed Dash2 pro with ECU connectivity Push button start TOAD Immobilizer Exterior/Carbon Front micro indicators Westfield.de Carbon V8 bonnet Westfield.de Carbon Nose Cone Westfield.de Carbon Aero Screen Westfield.de Carbon Cycle Wings Westfield.de Carbon Uprights Westfield.de Carbon Scuttle Westfield.de body mounted aero screen Carbon crash pad Recessed Dash2 mount into the carbon dash MickMade Carbon Rear bulkhead MickMade Carbon kick pads MickMade Carbon custom indicator pod MickMade Carbon Boot lid MickMade Carbon chassis rail protectors. MickMadeCarbon dash Carbon NV Rear diffuser Carbon NV Tunnel Top Carbon NV Tunnel Sides Trigger light weight handbrake Carbon/kevlar floor Carbon front carbon bulkhead Carbon pedal cover I'm sure there's something I've missed but that's hopefully the important stuff. It's got a great spec and, much more importantly, it's been really carefully built by someone who knew what they were doing and had both the time and cash available to do the job properly. I don't have to sell it and know that replacing it with a car of the same standard will be difficult. Thanks for reading,, Nick3 points

We've had a good run round and a nice 'light lunch' thanks @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative shame the Caterham's didn't show in force at the start, though I'd bought one along from S-O-T with us! I left with a couple of work car friends who'd bumped into us at the Betley Brook Inn. We had short ride towards Hulme End with Fergus leading the way in his Elise and Jordan following on his bike.3 points

@Mole that's amazing! Looks like VOJ to me but she'd changed quite a lot by the time I owned her! I do know it had a CVH at one point as it was in the extensive history file (was still registered as a 1.6 in fact). The CVH had loads of work done looking according to the receipts, various dyno plots of over 135bhp if I remember correctly. When I owned her she looked quite different and had a 2.0 Blacktop on twin 45's with a dyno'd 165bhp and loads of carbon bits. I was told it was the first car to have the carbon sides, full carbon interior, carbon bonnet scoop etc and apparently was on the WSCC stand at Stoneleigh one year as a result. It was my first Westfield, I bought her from an ex WSCC member a mile or so from Curborough in August 2019 and he'd used it mainly for sprinting and trackdays. A brilliant car, but only kept her for 6 months as the Westfield bug had bitten hard and I traded her in for the MegaS2000 in the February.... she did 2,500 fabulous and trouble free miles in that time though! 😂2 points

There is a potential for some truly crazy profit with replicas. Currently, Stratos replicas are being advertised well north of £100k. A really, really good build would be about £50k or so if done right, although I know some folk who have spent significantly more. For WFC, I can see why concentrating on a Porsche replica market could make good sense - charge more for basically the same as a Seven, on the ‘promise’ of a finished car that could(!) command a premium. There's a bit more fibreglass in a Chesil than a Westfield but that’s about it.2 points

Do they come in Orange? I know someone who might be interested1 point

SOLD Sometimes parts for sale are like buses. None at all or several at once! Doing my best here not to compete against or to detract from @Naranja_Al’s ad, but I too have a Westfield semi-fit indoor car cover for sale. The only difference is that mine has a white logo. Comes complete with storage bag. It’s hardly ever been used, in new condition, no marks or tears. It’s just not ideal for my unheated and unsealed garage, so I’m using an outdoor cover instead. Westfield Chesil sell them new for £195.00, I’m also looking £140.00 + secure insured postage, or collect from me in Leamington Spa. DM me if interested - thanks.1 point

Really sorry to see that, hopefully you’re okay and unhurt? How did it happen? Hard to see how much damage is there, but there’s a reasonable possibility that the front left of the frame has been damaged. It certainly wants looking at in detail. Not sure if Westfield Chesil do repairs or if some specialist company might be a better choice, but more knowledgeable members will soon be here. Hope you get it fixed quickly and get back on the road soon.1 point

Good evening John and co, I booked my tickets a few days after reading about it in the Spring edition of Westfield World (couldn't resist the magazine 'plug'). As far as I know I'm the only one from Devon and Somerset area going and have booked accommodation (Wincham Hall Hotel - no weddings on thank goodness) about 30 minutes from the circuit. I've been wanting to go to the Gold Cup for a while - a shame the club location has been moved and yes, no longer free, but at £21 I think it still represents good value. There are a few members on this thread I recognise, so looking forward to seeing you again and meeting others I have yet to meet! Fingers crossed the weather and traffic gods are kind. I'm driving up on the Friday through South Wales, Herefordshire and Cheshire avoiding the M5/M6. It's a 6.5 hour drive for me! Safe journeys everyone and see you on Saturday morning, best wishes, Gareth HD1 point

Our Westfield stand is B3. The gazebo and refreshments will be available all of Saturday and Sunday. Whippies and banners welcome if you have one. And don’t forget a comfy chair.1 point

How would I go about setting up a South Wales local group? I was AO for the area about 10 years ago before I sold my first car, and now I’m back in ownership would be good to get a local area running (I think there are a few South Wales owners). Plus we are not far from Bristol and Bath our Hertfordshire So joint events in the summer could be an option.. Happy to be the AO to get it going - but what’s the process for getting started?1 point

Next lotus owners club is 2nd Thursday of August. We will meet in Usk, leaving at 7pm and finishing at the anchor inn Tintern. Had a pretty good turn out last month, so fingers crossed for good weather.1 point
