When the wife goes away I always have big plans for what I'm going to do but I always end up catching up on rubbish TV, and eating stuff that I'm not allowed to eat when she's at home. Then I try to do everything on the last day and tidy up the house 😕 D3 points

Morning all, I’m a new member and only joined on Thursday. After dreaming of owning a “7” for nearly 20 years the wife has paid a deposit at Toybox for my upcoming 50th ! On a beautiful looking Westfield!! We are due back down to pay the balance next week. however I would like some advice on insurance as I am a little concerned, I have tried a plan insurance thatcham after reading the forum but they refused to insure me based on having no previous experience with this type of car, obviously everyone was in the same boat at some point !1 point

Just wanted to pass my thanks onto@Westfield Chesil Limited and the parts team for excellent service again. On the way home from the Peaks on Sunday I noticed the offside cycle wing vibrating more than normal..... oh yes, the dreaded wing stay failure 🤦♂️ Anyhoo, new one ordered Monday and it's on my doorstep on Wednesday morning! Just in time to get fitted at the weekend for the trackday at Donington on Monday 👍1 point

I do agree. If I had thirty or forty grand to throw at a play car, I would likely choose something else. I would love to see some entry level options, with a possibility of putting a basic car on the road for £15k to £20k including donor. That might keep some of the younger generation interested and bring new owners in. Going higher and higher end just competes with other much more attractive brands I think.1 point

To be honest, I'm not sure that the economics of buying a 'new' kit car really make sense any more. It used to be a cheap way of getting into performance motoring, but that's not really true now. If I was in charge of the new Westfield, I think that I'd be putting my effort into supporting the existing cars with spares, repairs, upgrades, servicing, service kits, advice, and maybe update modules for more up to date things like modern engines, gearboxes, ECUs, LED lights, carbon parts, that sort of thing. I’m a massive advocate of the Westfield brand, but as I’ve commented before, if I was in the market for another car I would be looking at Caterham. The price new is now the same and the resale values are far better.1 point

Yes very true, tbh I'd only glanced at it in the morning, so when the post came up I thought I'd comment. Later on I did go back and yes it's maybe not as good as it first appeared, apologies if I've passed on bad info.1 point

Yeah I was asked aswell in June and wasn't expecting it. I just rhymed off a few previous cars and all was good. Don't let it get to you, I'm sure you'll have it sorted soon 👍1 point

Hopefully I will get sorted when I try some others on Monday, it kind of took the shine of the excitement when I got refused yesterday !1 point

That’s thatcham I have had cover from Flux, AiB and A-Plan (Howdens). All were good to deal with and all did multi vehicle policies.1 point

Well yes it’s a Kamala , But !!!!!! It definitely wasn’t made by Dutton , from the 80’s but that’s all I can remember back from Kitcar and specials magazine days. Glad you had a great night A&B1 point

Fab service from Howden again today. After trying to use one of my included track days earlier.l today (as I am on track at Donington on Monday), I found the office impacted by the Crowdstrike outage. Very open and apologetic about the issues that were out of their control. A quick call this afternoon and Arnold had it sorted in minutes 👌1 point

Awe, brilliant read Ian and an Epic if ever there was one. Got to take my hat off to you doing it in an Aero screen car, don't know if I'd be man enough. 😂 There's obviously been a lot of planning went into organising it and glad you all pulled it off without incident, stickers just add a bit of fun and obviously a talking point too. 👍1 point

Hi Do we still have a contact on here for Tillett? i have been looking at the B5 or B8 for my 1996 ZK widebody SEight. I am hoping to bolt these to the original slide rails in my car for easy fitment, does anybody know if this is possible? Which of these 2 seats would be best for the short, broad build? would like to discuss more and discuss padding options. Thanks, Jason1 point
