This is just a dump of various images I took on Sunday. Please feel free to add any you took if you were there too. They are just a tiny sample of the hundreds of beautiful cars on show. Favourites for me were the £30 million 250 GTO owned by Nick Mason, the F40LM, the beautiful McLaren F1 and MP-4/5B F1 car. I also loved the Lanzante McLarens, colour scheme is spectacular! Surprisingly, I was also quite impressed by the McMurtry Spéirling. It just seemed to be very well thought out and engineered, nice and small and achieved alot more with 1000bhp than other ICE and Electric cars achieved with 1500 or 2000bhp. I confess I wasn’t taken by the Red Bull RB17 Hypercar. Whilst no doubt amazingly engineered and unbelievably fast, it just looks huge and quite fussy. Compared to the stunning McLaren F1…. Well to me there is no comparison. The last two shots are quite special to me. The first one was, I think, in 2007 when my son was five, and then this year. He wanted to make sure his car was in shot to show he was now driving himself to Goodwood 😊 Finally, a couple of vids from the day (or should I say firstly as they appeared before the images 🤪)7 points

Just wanted to pass my thanks onto@Westfield Chesil Limited and the parts team for excellent service again. On the way home from the Peaks on Sunday I noticed the offside cycle wing vibrating more than normal..... oh yes, the dreaded wing stay failure 🤦♂️ Anyhoo, new one ordered Monday and it's on my doorstep on Wednesday morning! Just in time to get fitted at the weekend for the trackday at Donington on Monday 👍7 points

omg, this would set off my OCD - why would you drive your beautiful Porsche 911 with a wonky numberplate?! It's a cherished plate as well...4 points

I'll pop over from Worcester Martyn if the weather forecast is right. And I'm another TLWN veteran - it was a brilliant event 👏2 points

It is absolutely insane in real life, just as you say, looks like it has been speeded up! I don’t really like the EVs, but something about this one is quite amazing. I can’t imagine driving it up the hill though, it’s so narrow towards the top. A couple of cars lost wing mirrors against the wall and a Ferrari 512 crashed up there sadly, not too much damage I don’t think.2 points

Royalty 🤣 more like riff raff 🤪 Mileage!!!!!!!! Don’t talk to me about mileage, Car taxed and ready from March 1st, what with the weather, family and work we manage less than 150miles till June 1st, then with Malvern,TLWN and holiday to Cornwall we’ve manage 1600 miles to July 14th ( 6wks) let’s see what we can get in before Sorn at the end of October 😜, catch you all Thursday1 point

Back in the 80s I'd regularly try and break my record for the run to and from my aunt's house and mine in my Elan +2S 130, usually in the middle of the night flat out all the way! Didn't have speed cameras etc back then of course so it was epic fun! I've just emailed the Falcon to ask about possible secure parking if I stayed overnight so you never know I may be up sooner than expected 😂👍1 point

Unfortunately I have not been able to organise any runs around the Cotswolds recently as my car has been off the road for some time! In previous years we have visited the area quite a few times and hopefully we can again sometime soon!1 point

Thanks @Martyn Vann - Warwickshire AO but circumstances don't allow atm. However I am sure I will eventually make it to say hello. I love the Cotswolds, spent a lot of happy times there when I was much younger than I am now and the trip goes through some cracking places. Shame my aunt doesn't still live there cos I could have come up regularly and stayed at hers with the car being safe.1 point

@Stuart more long distance royalty 👏 Hope to see you there.1 point

It would be great to see you at the meeting, but I appreciate that it is a long drive at 150+ miles round trip. However, I wouldn't mention that in the presence of @aeg though, as Andy and Becky are long distance royalty after completing the Long Road North Trip recently! We do meet at the Falcon Hotel, so an overnight stay is an option if your circumstances allow? Otherwise, the only day time option planned at the moment will be our track day at Curborough Sprint Course on 20th September. You are welcome to join us during the day as a spectator, or you could book on the track day if you fancy it!1 point

Wow, that’s lovely too! Yes, I did like the little Lambo tractor, great colours on that too 👍1 point

Very nice! The Urraco did look good, although this fanboi was just a little bit star struck by the LP400….even though it was yellow 😱🤣1 point

That sounds great! I owned a Lotus myself many years ago, an Elan +2s130. I loved that car and it's still on the road somewhere in the UK. I live in hope of seeing her again one day ❤️❤️❤️ Another club I belong to, KitNet.uk has had meetings at The Anchor a few times. A very atmospheric place to be near the Abbey, the woods and the Wye. And of course famous as the place where T'internet was invented 😂1 point

Next lotus owners club is 2nd Thursday of August. We will meet in Usk, leaving at 7pm and finishing at the anchor inn Tintern. Had a pretty good turn out last month, so fingers crossed for good weather.1 point

Yes, it’s near Cowbridge. It used to be a brains pub called the old post, but they have done a huge amount of work to spice it up. They have opened a cafe in the barn conversion next door, but just opening during the days on weekdays at the moment as they haven’t got the space or enough staff to open more. The main building should be finished September, but it looks like a lot of work left to do. The original baffle haus is very good, but as Darren says, car parking space is very limited. The new place has better parking which will be good.1 point

Very nice pics @Stuart Davis AO - Devon Cornwall & Somerset The Spéirling is made just up the road from me in Wotton-Under-Edge, they sometimes test it at Castle Combe circuit though I have yet to be lucky enough to be there and see it in action. Watching it go up the hill at Goodwood (on tv) a few years ago I was shocked at how quick it looked, a bit like the video had been sped up!1 point

I guess the sheer scale of it now prevents such hands on access unfortunately. It also reflects the changing fan base driven by the Netflix series Drive to survive which has likely swamped the traditional enthusiast fans. I still really enjoy it though, and in the paddocks you can still get up close with the cars either static or entering/leaving to go up the hill.1 point

I'm a lifelong lover of Formula 1, don't think I've missed a race since I was a nipper 😂 You are right, the modern cars are huge, I too understand the safety concerns making the cars larger but it's the noise I miss the most.... One of my fondest memories is being on the start line of the Silverstone F1 race in 2006, the noise of twenty two V8's revving to 19000rpm was actually painful! That was also the year Hamilton overtook 2 cars at Becketts. I tend to do the FOS every two or three years (its a long trek from Derbyshire!) but it's a real must for any petrolhead! An alternative way of experiencing some classic F1 cars up close is to get to one of the off season testing sessions. @Garry Bunn - Derby & Notts Joint AOand I managed to get to Donington for the Masters testing earlier this year. Loads of classic F1 and Sportscars on track, hardly any spectators, free roam of the curcuit, an open paddock and to top it all.... its free!1 point

Hi all I wanted to introduce an old familiar face some of you knew. As some will know I made the decision to sell my Yellow zetec in the hope of something quicker and more fitting to my ideal Westfield. This all started on the long way north starting line, Julie and Glenn approached me with a car they knew for sale, Over the weekend they spoke more about it and the idea grew. The following week my old car was collected by its new owner, and I rang Julies contact, Barry Wilson. Now the car in question was built by the late Steve Pitt (Bugman), a 2018 Sport 250. Barry had bought it following Steve’s sad passing, and then sat on it for the past few years. I read Steve’s amazing build diary and soon realised what an intricate person he was, everything was done to perfection. Admittedly there were a few electrical choices that weren't great but Barry has been slowly going through the car removing them. After a few visits to see the car and work out what needed doing to bring it back to its former glory, a deal was made and huge thanks to Barry who got it running for me. I had it collected and delivered this week and started straight away preparing it for its first MOT in years. The headlights weren’t working neither were the indicators, this was down to some wiring add ons Steve did years back. I checked the manual and sorted both issues, bolt checked and then booked an MOT. Drove to MOT station and had a few misfires on the way, also lost boost (turns out the pipe wasn’t tight enough) MOT passed with no issues so I headed for home… that’s where the misfire started again, this time however it got worse to where it sounds like an old Impreza. Managed to limp home, and started testing and checking plugs/coils. 1 plug seemed to be an issue so I ordered a set and collected today, popped them in along with some injector cleaner and hit the key Hey presto she’s alive and sounding great. A few jobs later, mainly checking brakes and suspension, a little clean and it was time for its first drive! Sooo nervous but very excited too. It went perfectly, there is little too much pre load on the rear suspension as it seems to bang the spring down over bumps but I’ll see if I can wind it back a bit. but overall really pleased, it has the power and looks I’ve wanted and has the potential for my own touches along the way. So I’d like to say a huge thanks to Julie and Glen for putting me in touch with Barry. And thanks to the rabble of mates who have helped over the last few days via messages. Ben/Rob/Gavin and Tim. i look forward to lots of adventures with it!1 point
