This is just a dump of various images I took on Sunday. Please feel free to add any you took if you were there too. They are just a tiny sample of the hundreds of beautiful cars on show. Favourites for me were the £30 million 250 GTO owned by Nick Mason, the F40LM, the beautiful McLaren F1 and MP-4/5B F1 car. I also loved the Lanzante McLarens, colour scheme is spectacular! Surprisingly, I was also quite impressed by the McMurtry Spéirling. It just seemed to be very well thought out and engineered, nice and small and achieved alot more with 1000bhp than other ICE and Electric cars achieved with 1500 or 2000bhp. I confess I wasn’t taken by the Red Bull RB17 Hypercar. Whilst no doubt amazingly engineered and unbelievably fast, it just looks huge and quite fussy. Compared to the stunning McLaren F1…. Well to me there is no comparison. The last two shots are quite special to me. The first one was, I think, in 2007 when my son was five, and then this year. He wanted to make sure his car was in shot to show he was now driving himself to Goodwood 😊 Finally, a couple of vids from the day (or should I say firstly as they appeared before the images 🤪)4 points

How would I go about setting up a South Wales local group? I was AO for the area about 10 years ago before I sold my first car, and now I’m back in ownership would be good to get a local area running (I think there are a few South Wales owners). Plus we are not far from Bristol and Bath our Hertfordshire So joint events in the summer could be an option.. Happy to be the AO to get it going - but what’s the process for getting started?1 point

What does S2000+S2000 + 2 X Sport 250 equal? Let's ask someone good with numbers A cracking Euro road trip! @Si.Dalziel @Jim cunliffe& @Tim.Coles are joining me for this years pilgramage to the Alps. We're departing on the 27th June and spending 4 nights in Austria before heading over to new territory - The Dolmomites for 3 nights. We were 'blessed' with our first obstacle shortly after booking the train in January from Düsseldorf to Innsbruck and return, to be advised due to work on the lines, they can no longer transport us from Düsseldorf and we can now travel from Hamburg instead! Just great! We've now got a 328 mile blat from Rotterdam to Hamburg in less than 12 hours, which means it will need to be Autobahn- I just hope @Si.Dalziel & @Jim cunliffe behave at this point and don't try a rematch of which is the fastest - S2000 or Sport 250! They both won 'prizes' for their last attempt in Wales! We'll provide trip updates on the Westfield FB group and here too (as and when time allows).1 point

Next lotus owners club is 2nd Thursday of August. We will meet in Usk, leaving at 7pm and finishing at the anchor inn Tintern. Had a pretty good turn out last month, so fingers crossed for good weather.1 point

Yes and the lotus club, vx220 club and Morgan club have less turn out than they used to, so mixing together can be good.1 point

Yes, it’s near Cowbridge. It used to be a brains pub called the old post, but they have done a huge amount of work to spice it up. They have opened a cafe in the barn conversion next door, but just opening during the days on weekdays at the moment as they haven’t got the space or enough staff to open more. The main building should be finished September, but it looks like a lot of work left to do. The original baffle haus is very good, but as Darren says, car parking space is very limited. The new place has better parking which will be good.1 point

If it's no good it may be worth taking to your local metal recycler, last time I took some got 80% of scrap lead price.1 point

It is absolutely insane in real life, just as you say, looks like it has been speeded up! I don’t really like the EVs, but something about this one is quite amazing. I can’t imagine driving it up the hill though, it’s so narrow towards the top. A couple of cars lost wing mirrors against the wall and a Ferrari 512 crashed up there sadly, not too much damage I don’t think.1 point

Very nice pics @Stuart Davis AO - Devon Cornwall & Somerset The Spéirling is made just up the road from me in Wotton-Under-Edge, they sometimes test it at Castle Combe circuit though I have yet to be lucky enough to be there and see it in action. Watching it go up the hill at Goodwood (on tv) a few years ago I was shocked at how quick it looked, a bit like the video had been sped up!1 point

I'm definitely up for this. I have a long list of roads for blats too. Baffle Haus is lovely and 10 minutes up the road from me, but it's so busy on weekends and you quite often can't park in there. Anyway, happy to assist in any organising of meets etc 👍👍1 point

Yeah mine too 2018 LCI, sounds better than the Comp. Just wished I had the Comps seats. Agreed about the turn of speed, having Mx5's overtakes often need to be planned, but in the M2 they were always on! First car I took to the Alps, really wanted to hit the speed limiter on the Autobahns, but had the wife with me1 point

Another thumbs up for Long beach blue Had an M2 that colour1 point

Just thinking we should at least say hello if a number of us go next year. Not sure I can but would certainly like to so I’ll pop something up before to see who is there and when.1 point

Hi Mat, looking forward to seeing your new Westfield. I was looking at the member map at the national show and most south wales members seem to be east of Cardiff, so roads around Usk - Chepstow can be good for an evening drive out. Certainly get more lotus cars when we head that way. I thought for a while that we could mix club lotus runs with WSCC runs. Some of the lotus guys are ex Westfield owners. We do quite a few runs and meets with Morgan owners club as well. They are a good group. I’m definitely up for doing more runs out with the Westfield.1 point

@Steve Bosworth what a stunning car you have bought there from @tuonokid58 we will look forward to seeing it out and about for some years to come. Here it is in all its glory. Fresh from the Alps trip was Ian in Bagpuss with stickers showing all the alpine passes he drove and tales of the trip for us. Fresh from the chrome platers was Andrew with his V8 and the air filter 8 cars in total meeting at Quackers A lengthy catch up over breakfast at Quackers, it seems ages since we all met We had a steady run up to the Ladybower Dams with lovely views over the hills, all looking very green I might add. We arrived at Bird Cafe, Hathersage, rearranged the furniture and had lunch There was talk of ice cream so we made our way over to the Pavillion Cafe, parked away from the cricket match and enjoyed our ice creams and cakes on the pavillion, yum yum. Parked at the Pavillion, Baslow More of the hairy legs on show than normal, someone had ripped his shorts alighting from his car, oops It's been a fabulouso day again, great to see everyone and be back out in the Peak District with those wonderful views, albeit not on the most exciting of routes but I will have more time to plan next time and normal service will resume. It is the car meet at GBS, Ollerton next Friday evening so if the weather is good we hope to see you there, thanks for coming everyone xxxx1 point

Give us a clue! In the Shropshire and Mid-Wales group, there are a few of us over the border near Shrewsbury and Telford, and some in mid-Wales around Meifod and Llanrhaeadr (IIRC!!). Unfortunately you've just missed the monthly meeting, but it's usually first Thursday of the month at the Admiral Rodney pub at Criggion. Hope to see you there one day! https://theadmiralrodneycriggion.co.uk/1 point
