  1. We (Dorset area plus Somerset, Devon & Cornwall area this year) are having our regular display area representing the WSCC at this show. It is always a great weekend with a large number of vehicles of all types on display, from steam engines up to modern classics. Organised by the Crashbox and Classic Car Club, the Historic Vehicle Gathering is the largest car show in the South West and one of the largest in the country.

  2. Thanks to Sean for delivering the Devon and Somerset Area flag to me recently, good to finally have it available for events. It only had a spike with it and a rather large base which you fill with water, so I thought I would make something more compact from bits and bobs I had around the garage, but mainly some aluminium tube from a broken camping chair, some threaded rod and a couple of blocks of wood. (EDIT aswell as the bit from the spike that the flag mounts on). After a couple of false starts, this one works well, just needs a sand down and a coat or two of paint.

  3. Hi All, i have recently purchased my first Westfield after previously owning a Robin Hood. I believe it’s a pre lit, it has a few teething problems but hopefully won’t take much to get sorted. Are there any known issues with the pre lits? And does anyone recognise the car as it has some WSCC paperwork.

  4. Came across this while wandering yesterday. Wondering whether to make an offer, but not sure it’ll fit under my bonnet? Don’t really want to be cutting into the fibreglass. Maybe il stick with the new sump for mine route.

  5. A few more. It was also a short hill climb event. Very bored with all the Ferraris and Lambos. Was one Atom and a Caterham 500. Got an invite to take the Westy next year. And yes a lot of the owners were in their 20s!

  6. Went to a car meet at The Old Waggon and Horses on the main A451 Stourbridge to Kidderminster Road this morning. It's hosted by "The New Unnamed Classic and Cherished Car Group", and they run an event here on the last Sunday of every month, plus a few Monday evening gatherings I believe. I'd known about this for a while, but hadn't been until today. I had no idea it was as popular as it is though! At least 250-300 cars and a real mix of cars from all ages. Really good to while away a few hours. We will definitely be going again! Thoroughly recommend to anyone who might be in the area. Just a small number of the cars on show:

  12. It was really interesting. They have come a long way since I last did a factory tour 5 or 6 years ago!! Great to see a British company actually manufacturing something.

  14. I'm going to take the cover off and see how I like it. If it looks that good though I may have to get a clear see-through bonnet 😂
