  2. Thanks to Sean for delivering the Devon and Somerset Area flag to me recently, good to finally have it available for events. It only had a spike with it and a rather large base which you fill with water, so I thought I would make something more compact from bits and bobs I had around the garage, but mainly some aluminium tube from a broken camping chair, some threaded rod and a couple of blocks of wood. (EDIT aswell as the bit from the spike that the flag mounts on). After a couple of false starts, this one works well, just needs a sand down and a coat or two of paint.

  3. 187 bhp. 2L Zetec blacktop with Omer throttle bodies. Wasn’t after power just after a smooth, safe tune with no breakup. Very pleased.

  10. Wow, so much still to learn, you get to see a kit car stripped down to its very innards like nowhere else I have ever seen. We bought our car, rather than built it, so this tour was especially useful. Most components are designed and manufactured on site, from brake calipers and suspension to the cosmetic stuff like doors, just everything is included. Every last bit of your car is covered on this tour, really worth doing, it's very personalised as Richard himself is the guide. As kit car owners our tour lasted a bit longer because we went more in depth. He built the factory, he runs the factory and he is a success. Homemade cake and coffee was available before and after, always a winner with us lot. Thank you to the club for covering our entrance fees, thank you to the guys that turned up, it was such a shame that more people couldn't experience it. I will send Ruth and Richard a thank you from us all. Next up is a run out with them to Belvoir, near Grantham so we will look forward to that. The Westfields lined up And a cheeky photo of our lovely new exhaust

  13. +SOLD+ Up for reluctant sale is my Westfield narrow body kit car. The car was first registered in 1989 and In 2003 underwent a full nut and bolt rebuild to what it is today . A rather special and sorted flying machine. The car has only covered 7000 miles and is in brilliant condition. The engine was a brand new 2.0 Ford zetec with omex engine management and throttle bodies, cams built by Northampton motorsport and tested at 200bhp. It pulls very strongly indeed and sounds absolutely fantastic. Just fitted an uprated Helix clutch kit which feels lovely . I have just had another rolling road session and had the mapping adjusted to suit the new exhuast manifold. It has a race line manifold and wunoff repackable silencer. Braking is taken car of with willwood callipers up front at drums at the rear . It has a full caged roll cage fitted for added rigidity and security. New coolex radiator, silicone hoses etc . Carbon dash , seats and wings . Quaife ATB diff with an indipendant rear axle . type 9 gearbox with Quaife semi helical internals. Gaz adjustable coilovers ( recently serviced ) Comes with a set of antiroll bars not currently fitted . 35l fuel tank . A rather special little car which is an absolute blast to drive and very engaging. A mass of paperwork is included with build manuals and lots of receipts. In very good condition all over ready for the summer . I have had a few Westfields over the years and this is by far the best I have owned. It’s sits nicely on the road and has been built very well indeed. Fully road legal , a great car for either road or track . Incredibly cheap to insure and also under classic car insurance. Only for sale as we have just found a house we want to go for and need to sell off some toys unfortunately to make it possible . Any questions please just ask - car is in Tring , Hertfordshire. 07725131140 is my number . Thank you for looking.

  16. A few more. It was also a short hill climb event. Very bored with all the Ferraris and Lambos. Was one Atom and a Caterham 500. Got an invite to take the Westy next year. And yes a lot of the owners were in their 20s!

  18. Swapped the cast iron one for a alloy bell housing, but had to cut the starter motor casing off as it clashes with the chassis.

  23. It is an upgraded 620R. Insanely fast and the owner certainly knows how to drive. It was immense fun failing to keep up 🤣

  29. Hi Guys, I have until the end of May to confirm number of cars attending before the show organisers assign areas to each club. 30. Rolled her out again to give her yet another spanner check, tyre pressures, a polish and run her to temperature. I replaced the drivers side cycle wing stay last year and how it sat had been bugging the bejeezus out of me. After a bit of fettling she's looking almost perfect now 👌 Also refitted the front "oops Officer it fell off" number plate so she's ready for a fresh MOT in the coming weeks.... roll on non essential travel!!!!
