  1. As you may have read here- Peaky Pass Blatters Tour 2024 @Jim cunliffe @Si.Dalziel @Tim Coles & I are heading off on Thu 27th June. On previous trips, we've seen messages as we travel or even after from members wishing to join in along the way. So this year, feel free to join us for as much or as little of the UK route as you wish. We had the honour of the Queen of Cakes @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative & Glen seeing us off last year (and a soggy welcome home too!)- The current plan sees @Tim Coles and I meeting at Tagg Lane Dairy, in the peaks, leaving at 11am. @Jim cunliffe will be meeting up with @Si.Dalziel in Warrington and we then all meet at the Carding Shed in Holmefirth for lunch at about 12:15pm. We then leave the Carding Shed for Hull circa 1:30PM, aiming to arrive at the Fox and Coney in Hull circa 4:00PM. We'll be keeping off motorways and city centres, where we can ! The likely route from Tagg Lane Please drop me PM's should you wish to join in at any point. We'll have a whatsapp live location group to aid finding us etc, this will be communicated closer to the date to those joining in. You're welcome to dine with us at any of the venues too, however please indicate this up front to aid bookings etc.

  2. It was quieter than a normal factory open day at GBS, I guess because of the weather forecast but that's ok because there was more cake to go round. Pizza was also available for a small charge, drinks and cakes were free and there were charity tins on the table for you to express your gratitude. The actual weather was dry and sunny until midday, a shower came over and we left at that point. This kept us quiet for a while The Kit Spares shop was open Money was spent Steve is the main guy in the parts department, give him a call if you need anything, he has helped a lot of us (me included) in the past. Steve @Martin Bell - (Bellyboy) Joint East Anglia AO was chauffer driven, thank you John for bringing him and your car. There were some Zero's on display Other cars turned up, all types of cars are invited. A great morning out, meeting some nice people and an offer from GBS for our club to come back and do a factory tour (small charge to cover costs). It would be good to get a multi area meet doing this as it is a good location to get the Derbyshire/Notts, Yorkshire, East Anglia and Peak District areas together. Let me know your thoughts! No run out in the Peak District next weekend as we are all driving the Pennine Way on our Long Way North trip but hope to see you the weekend after.

  6. We have met @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO and his travel companions at Tagg Lane Dairy for the last 2 years to see them all off on their holidays and then to welcome them back again. Apart from accessing lusious ice cream at Tagg Lane Dairy it is an exciting thing to do, the atmosphere is quite unique and very enjoyable, plus they are not a bad bunch of guys 😉😍🍦 I have put the 27th June on our calendar and we hope to see you at Tagg Lane. Unfortunately we won't be there to welcome you guys back home as we will be in Switzerland that week. Thanks for inviting people to share your journey 👍

  8. Day 3- today was a great day. 270 miles of mountain twisties diving in and out of France and Spain. Early start and arguably better than the Alps passes, fast and mostly smooth empty roads except for the odd bike or local. I say mostly smooth, as one of the group cracked his sump on a pot hole. Luckily with some liquid metal we made a repair and all seems good. My alternator lost a bolt and came loose and one of the others had a loose connection on the fan. Again, all easily fixed at the road side. We ended the day at Gavin Campsite and managed to book two cabins rather than get the tents out! We enjoyed a swim and meal and few beers. looking forward to much of the same again tomorrow

  9. Evening, All sadly the car we originally wanted was unavailable by the time we got to it, however Another car got delivered yesterday. Had our first drive tonight and the wife loved it and we cruised for awhile around the Malvern area. The prior owners looked after her well and she came with every piece of paperwork from the moment the first owner printed off the westield home page to every receipt or thing ever done. We are the third owners based on the v5c docs and various names across paperwork which is about a 2 inch pile of papers, which I've now sorted chronologically and put into a binder so I can keep adding to it. Needless to say I'm super excited. We named her Judy for obvious reasons Anyhow looking forward to meet up with other owners and we are now wscc members

  10. Sorry delay in update I was knackered yesterday! so day 2- we had a long days drive, about 350 miles to get down to the border, a delayed start to get a new battery for one of the cars. Lovely hot weather. Mainly D roads other than the last 150k to make up a bit of time. few little clutch bearing issues on one of the cars. (Which resulted in a photo shoot as a passer by wanted us to come and see his chateau!)Other than that great day. We ended up in another Formula 1 hotel so we could have a good sleep and shower etc. the eve was full of beer and burgers, and T bone steaks

  11. It’s that time again (well almost!) I thought I’d post another diary of the SKCC (southern kit car club) trip as the 2022 Alps one went down quite well. (and most likely a video afterwards) Genuinely I cannot wait, counting down the days! We postponed the 2023 trip (due to the organiser @Tony Bee not being able to ride his mountain bike and falling off!) so this is much needed, especially after the last year or terrible British weather we have experienced. Were all off on 12th June. The same Seven sevens (Westfields) reunite for 10 days of mountain twisties in the sun. @Ricky_B Joint Kent AO @barryO @kenton @Mark Bishop @Rich T The rough plan is 3 of us are travelling from UK to France via the euro tunnel and the 4 from the south coast are jumping on the Ferry travelling from UK to Diepe where we will all meet in Tours the first night and then the following day convoy south through France to the mountainous playground on the French/Spanish border. We will spend the week in the Pyrenees and then all do a big loop back up through France and back to the tunnel on the 22nd. For now, it’s car prep time, fit a new set of rubber, change some euros and pack the essentials - oh and explain the finer detail of the “few days away” trip duration to the wife 😅 more to follow…. ☀️ 🏔️ 🍺

  12. Hi, We have the Speed Series on at Mallory again, with our very own WSCC Sprint Series competitors on track so we will be going along to spectate. We did this earlier in the year and had a brilliant turnout! You can either meet us at Mallory around 10am or join our little convoy from the Ashby de la Zouch Services KFC car park (LE65 1JP at the junction of the A42 and A511). We'll be meet at the services at 9am for a 915am depart, with a nice run down the back roads to Mallory. The paddock will be open to the public so you'll get to have a good look at the cars and the newly refurbished and extended cafe will be open as usual. Tickets are £8 an adult and can be purchased here: https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/malloryparkcircuit Entry list is here: Copy-of-mallory-entry-list-Andy-A-copy.xlsx Hope to see you there to cheer our members on!

  13. Well its time to let my Westfield go and stop pretending its the right one for me. A bit of back story, i bought this car back in 2022 after falling in love with the spec and build of it, then last year i started wanting more power and ended up selling this and going to MK Sportscars. Long story but i had a bad experience and my MK rx5 ended up going back for sale with them early this year. Which left me without a car, untill i chased down the buyer of this one and ended up buying it back, i always missed it to be honest as it was my first experience into the Westfield family and ownership life. However for the past few months im right back where i was, wanting more power and after looking into many options ive finally decided im not going to alter this about to fit my needs. Its too nice of a an example so id rather a new owner love it for what it is. Its a fantastically well built car and the spec is superb: 2013 Widebody SEIW Widetrack suspension Lowered floors (which was a must for me) Full carbon Tillet Seats - Which are hands down the comfiest seat ive ever sat in a '7' car, plus ridiculously expensive. 13" Team dynamic 1.2 alloys with Toyo R888's Westfield Big brake kit Alloy front hubs Light weight Battery Coolex Radiator with Spal Fan 2.0 Crate Blacktop Zetec with Jenvey Throttle Bodies - Dyno sheet 178bhp Omex 600 ECU with software Mocul Catch can Later 6" exhaust silencer now fitted. Led Front lights and indicators Windscreen with full wiper and washers 12v Usb socket Go-Race detachable steering wheel boss with 300mm leather wheel. NV carbon front splitter V8 Bonnet Full Soft Bits for Sevens Roof with support bars 2 Speed factory Heater ( Great in the cold Weather) Boot box with Cover A mountain of paperwork 2 x keys Wind Deflectors MOT April 2025 14000 Miles Note the Pictures show doors but i'm afraid ill be keeping these for whatever car i get. All in all a Beautiful car and well known in the club, as i regularly attend club meets in Derbyshire. This will be available for Sale from Tuesday 25th June as i'll be using it on the Long Way North club run next week. Any inquires are welcome via Message but it wont be leaving me until after this date. £14400

  14. Weather permitting we will be there. I have told my neighbour about the club and he may tag along with me in his Robin. He was thinking this club was only for Westfields, which I've told him that's not the case and he's been looking for people to cruise with for the longest time. He's part of the reason we purchased one after riding in his car and my wife enjoying it. Jealous of your run north trip this is exactly the kind of thing we want to do with the car once we get settled into it and get used to driving it around.

  17. I’m open to doing any aerials the club or individuals want. I think making Westfield would be good but also would take some planning and marking out on the grass first

  25. So, early start yesterday. Successful tunnel crossing with no hold ups despite rumours of French strikes etc. The train was packed with Le Mans traffic heading down to the 24hr. Lots of caterhams and Porsches. We stopped off for some early breaky near Boloigne and then took a fairly relaxed ride down using mainly D roads and the odd toll. The weather was slightly damp in patches but nothing to be concerned about, noticeably getting hotter the further south we travelled. Another few fuel and baguette stops settled us in nicely, getting back into the routine of jumping in and out quickly over the coming days! After 348 miles, three fill ups, we arrived at our Formula 1 hotel in Tours, France. The other 4 were by this time were only an hour or two away. They had a good relaxed crossing to Dieppe and then 200 odd miles to catch us up. We all met in a bar round the corner (cracking place) Rich found, for pizzas and a few beers in the sun to discuss the days antics. One hopefully “just flat” battery to replace this morning at a shop round the corner and then we should be good to go for another big day down to the border.

  26. Those aerial shots of the cars makes me think next year we need to arrange them in the layout of a circuit 🤔

  27. Not today but a few days ago. Whether I'd leave a few shillings worth of vintage Bentley unattended in a public car park or not is something to ponder!

  33. Stu’s suggestion of £10 per wheel boxed with DPD sounds good value if you can’t find a beer token option. Another courier option that might be worth checking out is Paisley Freight, click on their ‘wheel and tyres’ tab for a quote (noting what their packing requirements are), they also transport other car parts: https://www.paisleyfreight.com

  34. If it helps I sent a set of wheels and tyres with DPD recently, each were boxed individually and it worked out a just over £10 a wheel.
