Hi everyone, Just joined, thought I'd share a pic of my car at the National Kit Car show - what a fantastic day that was! Anyone in Hampshire/Surrey/Sussex area? Would love to know who you use for maintenance for when I don't have time, and, ahem, kit car friendly MOT's? 😬 Also, any local meet ups happening over the summer??2 points

Whilst decorating my daughter’s play room (for her birthday in March), my Mum made the suggestion of building a window seat. During discussions about where to put the TV, I somewhat foolishly suggested making it rise up out of the window seat. In the end, I couldn’t quite manage that, but have built it into the lid which works very well. It has a couple of sprung pegs which lock it it place when lifted up, and a pull cord to retract them to put the lid down. Somewhat over budget and two months behind schedule it is a relief to get it finished finally, and just in time for the Canadian GP 😊 Oh, and yes it’s resemblance to a coffin has been noted 🤬🤣2 points

Early this morning a few of us had debated the weather on the chat group before taking a brave pill and heading out. Thankfully the weather held and we avoided the showers! Heading down the lanes, I bumped into Lee so we had a fun high speed convoy for the last few miles. Landing at the Curburgring, it wasn't long before we had 6 Westfields, a Striker and a MEV Rocket. While chatting in the car park we also bumped into another local Westfield owner... fingers crossed we will have another new member quite soon! Some of us had been to watch this meet last year so knew to expect some really quirky motors and some fun track action. For those that don't know, the Morgan 3 Wheeler has an even longer heritage than the Lotus 7 and there were cars here today over 100 years old being put through their paces on track! Pre WW2 F series with Ford Sidevalve engine Pre-war V Twins, with F series and modern Morgan 3's in the car park Ever complained that your Westfield is difficult to start? This will put it in perspective 😂 Not sure if these guys were brave or bonkers! How about an "MX3"!? Brilliant to see everyone as always, hope you had a safe trip home!2 points

Welcome to the club Phil. I can honestly say joining the WSCC has been one of the best things kitcar-wise I've ever done. So many clever, knowledgeable and helpful people on here it's amazing!2 points

Hi Julie, If the weather looks good then I hope to be there, am currently trying to sell my Westfield so this may give me the opportunity to promote the car to likeminded people. Steve2 points

What does S2000+S2000 + 2 X Sport 250 equal? Let's ask someone good with numbers A cracking Euro road trip! @Si.Dalziel @Jim cunliffe& @Tim.Coles are joining me for this years pilgramage to the Alps. We're departing on the 27th June and spending 4 nights in Austria before heading over to new territory - The Dolmomites for 3 nights. We were 'blessed' with our first obstacle shortly after booking the train in January from Düsseldorf to Innsbruck and return, to be advised due to work on the lines, they can no longer transport us from Düsseldorf and we can now travel from Hamburg instead! Just great! We've now got a 328 mile blat from Rotterdam to Hamburg in less than 12 hours, which means it will need to be Autobahn- I just hope @Si.Dalziel & @Jim cunliffe behave at this point and don't try a rematch of which is the fastest - S2000 or Sport 250! They both won 'prizes' for their last attempt in Wales! We'll provide trip updates on the Westfield FB group and here too (as and when time allows).1 point

Thanks Rob! Seems like a great bunch in the club. Even out and about there seems to be a good community. Malvern was brilliant, and the location certainly helped! We're fairly handy but no experience of Westy's and sometimes, just downright lazy...I've been known to pay somebody to do an oil change on my bike when I'm not in the mood 😆1 point

Yes I have opened them on my route app on my Iphone, they are free to create and view but you need a trail or subscription to navigate the route on this particular app.1 point

Hi Phil. I'm in Andover so only just in Hampshire. I missed going to Malvern as I need an MOT and want to put some miles on the car before driving it far. Your car look great by the way.1 point

Welcome, Let's hope you bring some sunshine to the south. I'm just south of Petersfield And there's another member in Liphook. Where are you in Hants? I use a local kit car friendly garage that's been MOTing mine for 20+ years Hope to see you around David1 point

I bumped into Nigel Trilk on Sunday and we had a brief chat about the Tipo 184. Apparently, Westfield have partnered with Ant Anstead (Dowsett Classic Car Company) to help with bringing the car to market (build support, parts supply etc). Since the one Ant originally built, there has been some development work on the car such as strengthening and lengthening the chassis. Nigel reckons that it's a real hoot to drive (very like the 50's race car it mimics), will be able to be IVA'd and will weigh around 700kg.1 point

Welcome from South Derbyshire! Glad you enjoyed Malvern, the car is a stunner! Most of us tend to do most maintenance ourselves, you'll get plenty of help and advice on here and even an extra pair of hands from local members of you need it 👍1 point

Well, it was bound to happen one day... Whist packing up a returns box to CBS, I made a great job of packing and used the last of the gaffer tape on the box. Only to realise I had left the free postage sticker inside the box !!!!!!!!!. Wasn't that cheap after all to send this back, need to buy another roll of gaffer now1 point

Excellent show, really enjoyed it. Well done to the club for putting on a great stand too. Sadly wasn't in mine, as the whole family wanted to come. Next year though... I have to ask - the lego model on W7 OOV in the tent... is that an official kit, a home build, or was it commissioned in some way?1 point

I'd seen the photo, but oh my word they do not do it justice! Stuart's right, the road book, and in fact the whole package is a work of art! What an amazing job; so looking forward to this weekend - even wore my hat on the way home from Malvern last night.1 point

Thought I'd give an update given I've just collected the car again... The garage did some tests before they dived in head deep into the engine and the upshot is that what you see in the header tank is rust/residue/crud from not driving it over winter. It's not oil and I'm not losing oil into the coolant after all. However, a leak test revealed some cylinders leaking upto 40%, and that combined with oily plugs (new ones fitted this winter) it seems my engine is now a heavy drinker of the black (the other black) stuff. Advised to check frequently, top up when needed and start saving for a full engine rebuild...0 points
