After our amazing time at Malvern this weekend and with the WSCC Sprint Series rounds coming up at Mallory and Curborough we have plenty to chat about this month! As normal we will be at the Clock Warehouse (DE72 2GL) for 7pm, parking in the lower right car park and will be in the upstairs room for a bevvy and some food. Hopefully the weather gods are kind and we get some cars out (but tintops always welcome too!). If you've never been to the pub meet, regardless of if you're in build, thinking of buying, just starting out with ownership, had a car for 20 years, or just considering joining the club you will be warmly welcomed by a bunch of fellow petrolheads!2 points

You laugh, but several years ago, Scott as membership secretary did a competition that effectively rewarded whoever posted the most; it triggered the most amazing outpouring of verbal diarrhea from a small minority, that we'd ever seen! So just be aware, all powerful admins can make your count go backwards, too!!!2 points

Good morning, my wife and I have been browsing for a weekend car for trips across the west midlands and into Wales for some time. She is very much in love with the idea of cruising across the countryside and stopping for short walks and bites to eat. We are living along the A40 outside of Worcester so have excellent access to decent/nice roads and a jumping off point to great places west from us. Now the hard part she has seen a westfield car she is absolutely in love with because she likes the way it looks; hence the title of this post. As far as she is concerned its already purchased without actually seeing it. I would say our purchase will never see a track day and would most likely say we would be classified as day tourers or weekend tourers at the most with B&B stop overs. We are approaching our retirement years and its likely to be seeing only responsible levels of speed. We could be that car on the A40 driving under the posted speed limit from time to time when we are enjoying the drive more than just the thrill. I hope this gives you an idea of the type of drivers we would be. To this end the car she has seen is an SE wide body and whilst I don't want to start a lengthy debate on is live or independent better what I am most interested in is the experience of others doing the type of driving we are thinking of doing what their experience or advice might be on a live suspension. Also the car we are interested in is almost 3 hours away from us so I'd like to ask as many questions about it or be in a serious mindset to buy it before venturing so far and of course what to look out for or how to prepare to go and get it as there is a strong possibility I will have to drive it home. I have read the new buyer post in the FAQs so I'm armed with that information already.1 point

Westfield XI for sale. REDUCED PRICE £17000 Registered 2015 IVA’d by Westfield in 2015 Currently MOT’d until May 2025 Polished Westfield Racing Green with red interior. 1275cc Ivor Searle Engine. Reconditioned Ford 5 speed type 9 Gearbox (as supplied by Westfield). Reluctant sale after ten years of ownership (kit purchased in 2014). This car was constructed over 2014/2015 being completed and IVA tested successfully in October 2015. It is correctly registered as a Westfield and also registered with a period number. The chassis is a spaceframe like the original. It is clad in aluminium lower panels with the remainder of the body in polished gel coat fibreglass. Power is provided by a 1275cc BMC A Series engine taken from an MG Midget transmitting through the excellent Ford Type 9 five-speed gearbox to a MG Midget back axle. The Westfield is finished in polished Westfield Racing Green with a contrasting dark red interior. Since completion the car has covered 15833 miles (including two trouble free trips to France). Other features include 13 inch Minilite-style wheels, a dark red tonneau cover to match the seats, racing mirrors, period steering wheel and racing type harnesses. There is a small history file containing a Builders Guide, MoT Test Certificate (valid until May 2025), V5C and a sales brochure. Out on the road the Westfield is a a lot of fun to drive with exceptional steering, handling and braking as you would expect. As the car weighs very little, the 1275cc A Series engine provides ample performance. This is a nicely constructed car with some thoughtful touches, and will provide a huge amount of fun for the next owner. One minor point - there are two small spider web stress cracks on front LH wing (both about the size of a 50p coin - see photo) The car is located in Cornwall. I am hoping that the car will go to a Westfield enthusiast, who can further enjoy the Westfield XI experience. Price now reduced to £17000 - open to sensible offers1 point

Thanks “Kingster”, the advice you gave me when planning the upgrades was very helpful and appreciated. Completely transformed the car, handling is now absolutely superb. Cheers Steve1 point

Cheeky sod! I did ride a dinosaur, I'll give her name if you like! Mind you, she's knocking on a bit too by now; she was older than I was!1 point

It's a shame they couldn't have put 2 mx5 engines in line and had all those 8 exhaust branches doing something. I felt cheated seeing half of them blanked off !!1 point

I am starting to make the standard cycle wings in Carbon if you'd like a set - would be a couple of weeks to get them done and clear coated? I'm a WSCC trader under CarbonWest -photos and prices to follow.1 point

Funnily enough we were just debating this on our Whattsapp group as we were wondering too. Apparently it's the link between the Westfield Chesil owner and Bicester Heritage, the latter of which is now an official builder of the Tipo 184. Personally I found it really interesting having a close up look at it at the weekend, but couldn't believe just how big the thing is!1 point

I recall, as a kid, going on holiday with my Grandparents, and during the trip Grandad needed fuel, my Gran was really shocked at the prices in Cornwall - 50p a gallon, she was so angry, lol... it was her topic of conversation for a whole week...1 point
