  2. Not today but a few days ago. Whether I'd leave a few shillings worth of vintage Bentley unattended in a public car park or not is something to ponder!

  3. I too would make voting compulsory as I believe it is in Australia. People fought and died to get the vote and yet turnout is always pitiful. It is even worse for local elections and yet somehow that makes more of a difference to our day to day life than a change in government in many ways. I am proud to say I have never missed a vote I could participate in and yes on some the choices left me cold but at least I did my bit. All parties at the moment are shockingly bad the worst choices I have ever seen

  4. Haha thank you! Can’t beat the simplicity of carbs and as I work away for over 7 months of the year with the car parked up, I didn’t want any computers to ruin my fun when I got home! it does have a good appetite for V power though! Haha

  5. I am saddened to be reporting that Mathew Gilmour, owner of Procomp Motorsport, sadly passed away last week. He had been suffering with poor health for a while and eventually passed away as a result. For those that didnt know of Procomp, Matt and his late father Ivan, were renowned and respected Westfield and kit car in general preparation specialists. They helped me immensely with my Speed Series winning Westfield whilst I owned it. RIP Matt

  6. Since I now have the car this was found in the "extras" box. Just a clip on one, those high level mirrors, but as can be seen there is a blemish on the mirror, will see if this is distracting or not.

  7. If your still considered a minor under criminal law until you are 18, then that conflicts with the concept of being able to vote at 16. If you want to change one then both need changing surely ?

  8. Saying 16 year-olds shouldn’t vote when there are adults of all ages who don’t or won’t vote rather misses the point. Voting should be compulsory IF there is an option to put a cross next to a box that says “Abstain” if the voter feels there is no suitable candidate or party, and if there are more votes received for “Abstain” than any candidate, the election should be null and void and all the candidates are barred from running a second time. Or you could just vote for me, running on a platform of benign dictatorship. 👍

  10. Huge thanks to @HB46443 for taking time out to come along. Also, thanks to @AndrewBClarkewho had intended to come before some last minute work commitments put paid to his plans, the thought still counts my friend. Hedley and I managed to land on time (after a horrible, traffic ridden 90 minute journey through Nottingham) and lead @simmi's hearse to the Crematorium. We managed a couple of somber, slow circuits of the car park before heading home. Hopefully we helped in some small way on a very sad day. My deepest condolences to Neil's family and friends. Judging by the large number of people there, he was loved by many.

  11. The MEC One you saw at Curborough today is my car and you are right about what it stands for. I walked past the car as someone was photographing it, perhaps it was you Rob. The mid engine arrangement uses a 1.6 Zetec SE engine, gearbox and driveshafts from a Ford Focus. The engine is standard but gains an extra 20 horsepower by the use of an Omex 600 ECU. The engine and gearbox are not turned around, just moved backwards. The only problem is that the gear selection is rearranged and not wanting to having to select first gear ware fourth should be a compensating mechanism is used to bring the gears back to their normal positions. The roll cage is integrated into the structure of the chassis and the front hoop forms the frame for the windscreen. When looking for a bespoke windscreen I went to several windscreen companies asking if they could cut one down from a larger one but I only got negative waves saying it could not be done without cracking. Eventually I found someone willing to give it a go. A Ford Escort mark three screen was only £28 pounds and the deal was if it cracked it would cost me £28 and if successful the bill would be £56 pounds. It cut without a problem at a good price for a special screen. I also have a Westfield SEIW but that is in dry dock having an engine transplant Cheers Malcolm (Price)

  12. Given that it’s registered as a Price MEC One I would guess it’s a home built special. Price = name of builder MEC = Mid-Engined Car One = The first one they’ve built
