  3. Hi, Obviously, as a result of my devastating good looks and unimposing frame, I have been volunteered for "meet and greet" at 915am on Saturday morning! That will surely keep the crowds away 😂 As a result I'll be departing home in South Derbyshire at an ungodly hour to head to Malvern and doing my best Kris Kristofferson impression with an early morning convoy. First stop will be at Tamworth Services (B77 5PS) for a 7am prompt departure. If you need fuel, please arrive early so we can leave on time. I will be avoiding the motorways like the plague, so we will be heading down past Coleshill, then through Balsall Common around 730am (not stopping) before getting on the A46 at Warwick. Second stop will be for gogo juice and caffeine at the Alcester McDonald's/BP Garage (B49 6PQ) at about 8am. It will be a quick pit stop as we will need to leave by 825am at the latest. We should then be arriving at Malvern by 915am. Note, due to the tight schedule (and the fact that the Midlands Air Festival is on at Alcester), we will be going at a reasonable pace and not dawdling. Note, waypoints A and C on the picture below are just to force Google into the route I wish to take If anyone fancies tagging along please feel free 👍

  4. I’ll get up leisurely and savour my full English breakfast at the hotel local to Malvern before taking the short drive to arrive after 11.30 then. 🤪

  5. Thanks for the warning of when you are on meet and greet duty. Is it safe to arrive at Malvern at 10.15am or are you on a two hour shift?? 🤪

  6. If your still considered a minor under criminal law until you are 18, then that conflicts with the concept of being able to vote at 16. If you want to change one then both need changing surely ?

  8. @WSCC Webmaster Dear Sir I wish to complain. The forums are running at their normal speed and the slowness issue has disappeared, so I assume that you have fixed the problem. This leaves me with nothing to complain about. Therefore I am complaining that I have nothing to complain about. Please rectify this problem as soon as possible. Yours, Bob Frapples

  9. Hello All, June is approaching and the June meeting would normally be scheduled for this Sunday, June 2nd. I'm pushing it back a week to Sunday 9th June because it's at the end of a school holiday week and I know some of you will probably have been away and travelling back that day. It clashes with the National Kit Car Show at Malvern, I expect some of you not away will be attending. I'm also away over the weekend. Hope to see a few of there for a chin wag and tyre kick. Thanks Rhett 7pm, 9th June at the Dudley Arms, Himley. DY3 4LB.

  10. Car was built and registered by the factory in 2019. All parts brand new when fitted, over £25000 in invoices. Although it’s a single throttle body it is running an omex 600 ecu so upgrading to throttle bodies would not be a massive issue. Lowered floors, 8”wide rear wheels, wide track front susp, mx5 ltd slip diff. Car has completed 1100 miles and as such is as new. Have just carried out it’s first mot and basic service. 1 previous owner on v5. £18250 I can organise transport anywhere in uk in a fully enclosed transporter. Based just north of Lichfield staffs. 12. Saying 16 year-olds shouldn’t vote when there are adults of all ages who don’t or won’t vote rather misses the point. Voting should be compulsory IF there is an option to put a cross next to a box that says “Abstain” if the voter feels there is no suitable candidate or party, and if there are more votes received for “Abstain” than any candidate, the election should be null and void and all the candidates are barred from running a second time. Or you could just vote for me, running on a platform of benign dictatorship. 👍

  13. There can be several reasons for this. lack of storage on cloud account low data, or mobile data switched off low battery Photos may be uploading slowly or paused because WiFi signal was lost

  14. You have to register to vote, right? So if any 16 year olds feel they want to register and vote then fine. Those who don't, won't. Giving teenagers an option is not the same as Labour pocketing the vote of every 6th former in the land. And maybe it should depend. If they are in the armed forces or some other dutiful service (NHS, civil service, charity work) then I say fair enough, let them vote if they so choose. I'm betting many of them will choose not to. BUT it is interesting that the fear of giving them the vote will somehow alter outcomes. Maybe, but that points to the fact that far too many adults also choose not to vote. If turnout of the "adult" voting population was better, giving 16 year olds the vote really wouldn't matter.

  15. Just installed a plugin from Invision that they think will address the issues we were having. As well as the other measures put in place with the help of @ACW we are now keeping our fingers firmly crossed that things should stabilise. But as per previous post, please shout up if it suddenly grinds to a halt again. No need to post "it's great!" 😁 (awaits post from CC)

  20. Right then. With the help of @ACW who runs the hardware side of things and is super knowledgeable when it comes to the dark arts, we have made some changes that will hopefully help the situation. 🤞

  21. Have you done a search? Wait a minute…
    1 point
  22. Yeah there’s a particular search query that was logged that took a long time to return a result. Not sure if that’s the root cause, but posted a report to the invision community on an existing thread where others have reported slow running. Seems the last software update may have a bug. No idea how long they will take to react. It’s getting very annoying now!

  24. Hello everyone ! Thought i would just say hello! since im new and have been scrolling though the years and years of knowledge to help me with my westy nicknamed Brum !. Im from the north East area, best part of god's country even if it rains 353 days a year, the other 2 and only slightly cloudy. Built the Westfield with my late father back when I was 8 and its know under my ownership due to time being a Marching constant. Would love to get Brum retested and enjoy the summer with some new found friends with similar interests of a good day out exploring and nice roads!

  25. I managed to prepare the Westfield Aerorace for the Classicauto Cup track day. Spanner checked all suspension bolts and nuts, changed oil and filter, changed the brake pumps to get more pedal travel with less foot effort ( 0,7 and 0,75 to 0,625 and 0,7) - much better with its HiSpec calipers. Now I need to do the same with the clutch, now its working almost "binary" 0-1 , easy to stall engine on pit lane etc.. but it's on a cable with a Helix sport disc and pressure plate, dont know maybe changing or lube cable will help , cable is quite old and close to exhaust manifolfd (RHD car) . And despite various suspension setup combinations, the rear is still quite twitchy when exiting corners under acceleration. It's fun, but it doesn't improve lap times or confidence to the car

  27. 10 AM and the doorbell goes. That’s unusual as I’m particular about the company I keep, especially in the morning. I open the door and a political party worker is there, complete with rosette (which party not relevant). “Good morning!”, he says in an excessively chipper voice. I hate him already. No one should be that chipper this early, plus I’ve got a notice by the doorbell he just pushed saying “No Politics” that he deftly managed to ignore. ”It’s definitely morning, but whether or not it’s good is up for debate right now.”, I reply in a clipped tone. ”I’m here on behalf of the (redacted) Party!” Really? That’s a surprise. I thought the rosette was a fashion statement. ”I gathered.” ”Can I ask how you will be voting in the General Election?” ”Yes.” Blank grin and a pause. “Well?” ”Well what?” Confused face. “I don’t understand.” Me, in a measured tone. “You said, can I ask how you will be voting in the General Election, and I said yes - go ahead and ask.” After a few seconds, the penny drops and his face lights up. “Oh! Ha ha ha, good one, sir!” I’m not laughing, “How will you be voting in the General Election?” ”The same way I always do. I go into the polling station and put my cross next to the candidate and party I think will do the least amount of harm. Currently, your inability to read and comprehend my “No Politics” sign is not doing your cause any good. Kindly leave and do not return. Goodbye.” Door shuts in grinning face. *sigh* Only 42 days to go…
