  1. Hello all, As an update to this, very pleased to say I now own a beautiful BRG SEIw 2ltr zetec on twin webers! Thank you very much to you all for all of your help, looking forward to seeing some of you now on the South Coast (Southampton) if you're near! Cheers

  2. Right then. With the help of @ACW who runs the hardware side of things and is super knowledgeable when it comes to the dark arts, we have made some changes that will hopefully help the situation. 🤞

  3. Thanks for your concern. The NHS was immaculate, all sorts of tests, diagnosis confirmed, continue to take the tablets and should be OK. But not sure when I'll next be out in the Westfield. Strictly speaking I have Giant cell arteritis.

  5. Don't worry you are not alone, bike racing and biking in general will always be my first love as it were, yes cars are fun and a 7 is perhaps the closest experience I can get without popping on a helmet once again. The car racing days were fun, but never that shear thrill of speed, it's quite a drug to be honest - and one that hard to give up too, lol.

  6. Hello everyone ! Thought i would just say hello! since im new and have been scrolling though the years and years of knowledge to help me with my westy nicknamed Brum !. Im from the north East area, best part of god's country even if it rains 353 days a year, the other 2 and only slightly cloudy. Built the Westfield with my late father back when I was 8 and its know under my ownership due to time being a Marching constant. Would love to get Brum retested and enjoy the summer with some new found friends with similar interests of a good day out exploring and nice roads!

  7. Car was built and registered by the factory in 2019. All parts brand new when fitted, over £25000 in invoices. Although it’s a single throttle body it is running an omex 600 ecu so upgrading to throttle bodies would not be a massive issue. Lowered floors, 8”wide rear wheels, wide track front susp, mx5 ltd slip diff. Car has completed 1100 miles and as such is as new. Have just carried out it’s first mot and basic service. 1 previous owner on v5. £18250 I can organise transport anywhere in uk in a fully enclosed transporter. Based just north of Lichfield staffs. 8. As an ex-biker I still follow this very closely, rather embarrassed to say that I have never been over there despite being possibly the closest member to the venue, its always next year with me.... Anyway for those bike fans either follow Manx radio online at https://www.manxradio.com/player/digital/ or watch the live streams at https://www.iomttraces.com/ The last link requires a login and fees paying in order to view, in the past I have done this but over the years the prices have risen a fair bit and I have decided to forego that service this year. Todays schedule is:- 10:00 - Roads Close 10:40 - Newcomers' Speed Control Lap 10:55 - Supersport/Supertwin (untimed) 11:35 - Superbike/Superstock (untimed) 12:20 - Sidecars (untimed) 13:45 - Supersport/Supertwin 14:30 - Superbike/Superstock 15:20 - Sidecars Full schedule found at https://www.iomttraces.com/racing/page/schedule/ ETA In typical island weather, todays schedule is delayed 4 hours, so if following the link above on the next two week's plan, just factor in wet and dodgy days over there.

  9. Please bear with us while we try and fix this. We know it’s frustrating for everyone.

  10. I watched a film of the history of the Dunlop clan of racers yesterday 'Road' on London Live channel. They're utterly addicted unto death - literally in their case. Very disturbing and moving.

  11. Wing mounted mirrors would be perfectly in keeping with the period. Door mirrors were fitted to the driver's side only at first and with plane glass to avoid size distortion. That would be about the early 1970s time. My 1971 Hillman Hunter with a pair of the last batch of wing mounted mirrors of the era.

  14. Yeah there’s a particular search query that was logged that took a long time to return a result. Not sure if that’s the root cause, but posted a report to the invision community on an existing thread where others have reported slow running. Seems the last software update may have a bug. No idea how long they will take to react. It’s getting very annoying now!

  15. I'd be with you on that one, specially if a reasonably sympathetic mirror could be found that fit.

  18. Probably because you aren’t stupid enough to drive with a broken bobbin 🤪🤣 On my car, cylinders 1 and 4 are studs with brass nuts, 2 and 3 use bolts. It actually makes it a bit easier fitting it back on, lining up eight studs can be a pain I imagine.

  19. Heading home from Dartford on Friday, my exhaust started sounding horrendous in the last 30 mins and I thought a bolt had come loose. Actually it had sheared off, no doubt stressed by my continuing to drive on our recent Exmoor trip after my exhaust bobbin had broken. Well worth it as I really enjoyed that day, but a pain to get out. I tried an extractor set I already had, but the drill didn’t touch the bolt, just skated around, so I bought some 8% cobalt drills and the 2.5mm went straight through, no problem! After that, the extractor did its job though would have been easier if I had got the hole more central! All set for Malvern now, ideally I need some new gaskets to arrive but could manage with old if pushed.

  20. I/we also follow the TT very closely. Like you we have never been across the water and watched it. Not sure why, we have been to loads of Morogp/Superbike Races all across Europe, but never the TT.. one day… Probably the wrong forum to admit this, but I much prefer bike racing over cars. Probably it’s because it takes me back to my youth. Enjoy watching Richard.

  21. Going to see the specialist this pm, no mention made of testosterone so far. If I had some would my times improve?! Apparently I'm a bit anaemic so which pay attention to this. One has to be one's own doctor these days to a certain extent. At least the steroids have given me full use of my legs again.

  22. Pretty certain it is down to the MySQL database rather than any plug-in or theme. The server logs show the MySQL process randomly using huge amounts of CPU taking it up to 100% which explains why things run slow. This might be a consequence of the forum software performing a pre programmed task, or it could be a complex search or maybe a bug in the code that gets stuck in a loop. It’s not one of our own regular automated backups though as they happen at 2am every day and the slowdown is happening outside of that.

  25. Huge thanks to @HB46443 for taking time out to come along. Also, thanks to @AndrewBClarkewho had intended to come before some last minute work commitments put paid to his plans, the thought still counts my friend. Hedley and I managed to land on time (after a horrible, traffic ridden 90 minute journey through Nottingham) and lead @simmi's hearse to the Crematorium. We managed a couple of somber, slow circuits of the car park before heading home. Hopefully we helped in some small way on a very sad day. My deepest condolences to Neil's family and friends. Judging by the large number of people there, he was loved by many.

  26. Yes thanks Martin, that's why I now have a 1970 Herald, or will have when it arrives , not really interested in modern stuff. So once that is with me, I am hoping to get to further away places, we will just have to see. Yeah, its 5 discs for me, totally wrecked according to the X rays, Osteoporosis of the back , had to google that as although I had heard of the word I had no clue what it was. This explains the pain however, but the news about not driving a sports car kind of hit hard, had one , in one shape or form for over 30 years now. Hoping a classic saloon takes over where the Westy leaves off.

  27. Welcome Andy! Your welcome to come on here as much as you like, the possession or not of a kit car, whether Westfield or similar, doesn’t matter to us! We’re all just like minded enthusiasts. Oh and whisper it quietly, but we like reading about other cars as much, if not sometimes more than just Westfields!! (It’s always great to see different stuff whether it’s classics, or fun modern cars.) D
