Hello everyone ! Thought i would just say hello! since im new and have been scrolling though the years and years of knowledge to help me with my westy nicknamed Brum !. Im from the north East area, best part of god's country even if it rains 353 days a year, the other 2 and only slightly cloudy. Built the Westfield with my late father back when I was 8 and its know under my ownership due to time being a Marching constant. Would love to get Brum retested and enjoy the summer with some new found friends with similar interests of a good day out exploring and nice roads!3 points

Pretty certain it is down to the MySQL database rather than any plug-in or theme. The server logs show the MySQL process randomly using huge amounts of CPU taking it up to 100% which explains why things run slow. This might be a consequence of the forum software performing a pre programmed task, or it could be a complex search or maybe a bug in the code that gets stuck in a loop. It’s not one of our own regular automated backups though as they happen at 2am every day and the slowdown is happening outside of that.2 points

As I said, it’s something we are aware of and trying to sort. Because it’s intermittent it is the worst case scenario for bug hunting. Please bear with us, appreciate all the info and we are on the case.2 points

I managed to prepare the Westfield Aerorace for the Classicauto Cup track day. Spanner checked all suspension bolts and nuts, changed oil and filter, changed the brake pumps to get more pedal travel with less foot effort ( 0,7 and 0,75 to 0,625 and 0,7) - much better with its HiSpec calipers. Now I need to do the same with the clutch, now its working almost "binary" 0-1 , easy to stall engine on pit lane etc.. but it's on a cable with a Helix sport disc and pressure plate, dont know maybe changing or lube cable will help , cable is quite old and close to exhaust manifolfd (RHD car) . And despite various suspension setup combinations, the rear is still quite twitchy when exiting corners under acceleration. It's fun, but it doesn't improve lap times or confidence to the car2 points

Here for sale is my 2000 (W) Westfield Megabusa. I originally looked at moving the car on around this time last year but decided to keep it and fit a full windscreen instead. This was carried out through the guys down at the new Westfield factory (using all new parts at not insignificant expense), but I’ve found that I’m still not using the car as much as I’d like. I’ve just got to the point where I have to admit that the way I use a second car has now changed, and although I've loved it (a Megabusa was always the one for me!) and it's a lovely car, it just doesn't fit my lifestyle at the moment. The car has an interesting story as it was the press demonstrator for the factory during the year 2000, appearing on the “2 Wheels Better” program on Men and Motors, which included an interview with Chris Smith about the bike-engined revolution while he was sitting in the driver’s seat. This can still be seen on YouTube at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_DaCqTgiPM&list=PLW4hczp_CZb4DI1EE5zRzFqEvDmBtbpmq&index=1 Around the same time it also appeared in Car magazine’s Performance Car of the Year test against a Caterham R500 and Lotus 340R. It can also be seen in various Kit Car magazines from back in the day, as well as the "Westfield Story" book, copies of which I have collected over the last few years and will be sold on with the car. As you can imagine from its press car status, it was very highly spec’d from the factory, with the specification briefly comprising: Image 13” 2-piece light alloy wheels. Westfield Dry Sump System. Westfield Reverse Gearbox. Quick Release Steering Wheel. Carbon Fibre Nose Cone. Carbon Fibre Cycle Wings. Carbon Fibre Dashboard. Carbon Fibre Centre Console. Carbon Fibre Tunnel Top. Carbon Effect Stoneguards. Willans 4-Point Harnesses. Nitron Shockers. Front and Rear Anti-roll Bars. After it’s time with Westfield, the car was bought by a collector and stayed with him for 18 years or so, having very little use within that period. It was then put up for auction and bought by Castle Cars in Cornwall who had been tasked by one of their customers to source the very best example of a bike-engined Westfield that they could get their hands on. They then went through the car, recommissioning it, before their customer found that at 6’ 4” and 18-19 stone, they couldn’t fit in it! It was at that point in 2019 that I bought it, travelling down to Cornwall from Merseyside with a trailer to pick it up one Saturday. It’s my 3rd bike-engined Westfield having built a Megablade during 2000 and subsequently keeping it for 11 years, before then building a Megabird after that. When built, the car was fitted with a brand new Hayabusa engine from a donor bike (as was Westfield’s way at the time) and has covered very little mileage since (less than 2,000), which is reflected in its condition, with only minor wear and tear to the bodywork and interior despite being almost 25 years old. The car has recently been serviced, with new oil and filter, spark plugs and a set of coils. Last year the shockers were serviced and dyno-tested by Nitron down at the factory, and the adjusters on the rear shockers were renewed. I have all invoices and details of all the maintenance carried out while in my possession, including the invoices from Westfield for the windscreen upgrade. We've had some adventures, and it will be missed, but time for somebody else to enjoy it now. £12,950 ono. I’ve added some walk around videos on YouTube, which can be found here: Please call or WhatsApp on 07394 113927, or message through here. I also have some spares such as an RAC Rollbar, new rear stoneguards (still in the package, never fitted), the original carbon fibre Westfield aeroscreen and mirrors, and a replacement sump panel for the dry sump system (picked up as it was the last one "old" Westfield had in stock, and I bought it just in case). These can be had through separate negotiation.1 point

As an ex-biker I still follow this very closely, rather embarrassed to say that I have never been over there despite being possibly the closest member to the venue, its always next year with me.... Anyway for those bike fans either follow Manx radio online at https://www.manxradio.com/player/digital/ or watch the live streams at https://www.iomttraces.com/ The last link requires a login and fees paying in order to view, in the past I have done this but over the years the prices have risen a fair bit and I have decided to forego that service this year. Todays schedule is:- 10:00 - Roads Close 10:40 - Newcomers' Speed Control Lap 10:55 - Supersport/Supertwin (untimed) 11:35 - Superbike/Superstock (untimed) 12:20 - Sidecars (untimed) 13:45 - Supersport/Supertwin 14:30 - Superbike/Superstock 15:20 - Sidecars Full schedule found at https://www.iomttraces.com/racing/page/schedule/ ETA In typical island weather, todays schedule is delayed 4 hours, so if following the link above on the next two week's plan, just factor in wet and dodgy days over there.1 point

I'm in Leeds, but have members all over Yorkshire. We often get up around North Yorkshire and will be heading through, or near to Northallerton on June 22nd on our way to Scotch Corner to meet up with the "Long Way North" trip. You're welcome to tag along, even if the Westfield isn't running.1 point

Oh the profile picture is a somewhat easier issue to solve, click the round H at the top right of your screen, this will open your profile page ( which you can edit elsewhere) but to the left on this page is your same green round H, click that and follow the instructions , the adding info to the photo you will produce we can go through afterwards.1 point

Welcome from the team around the Bristol area. Bit far from you but we are all basically one family here. As @Robin Parker (Red Spider) - Yorkshire AOsays, any pics we'd love to see them 👍1 point

Welcome from Yorkshire. Not sure if you'll be nearer to Yorkshire or the North East groups, but you're welcome to join us anytime. Put some photos of the car, it doesn't exist without pictures.1 point

Welcome, I'm just over the other side of you - North West, and you beat me by a week on the rain stats, lol. Great to see a Westy being transferred in the family, love to see that. I have seen your Weber Alpha post and am working on it, but it's a hard find this one...1 point

We are going to have to bide our time Stuart, we await an update or patch or other fix as it seems nothing is obvious back stage as it were. I have been here myself in the past, its a real pain but you are in the hands of the forums software, so not a lot admin or users can do . At least it works though, could be far worse.1 point

They are 7J for reference, you don't measure the full width of wheel👍 Just between where the tyre mounts😁1 point

Never competed with a Westy before, but in others car where I have done, oversteer on corner exit I found to be a mixture of rear ride height and stiffness, raising the rear and softening it all off really help me at least , it may be completely different with a Westy though, wait till the racers post and see what they say, alternatively put a post on the racing section?.1 point

Huge thanks to @HB46443 for taking time out to come along. Also, thanks to @AndrewBClarkewho had intended to come before some last minute work commitments put paid to his plans, the thought still counts my friend. Hedley and I managed to land on time (after a horrible, traffic ridden 90 minute journey through Nottingham) and lead @simmi's hearse to the Crematorium. We managed a couple of somber, slow circuits of the car park before heading home. Hopefully we helped in some small way on a very sad day. My deepest condolences to Neil's family and friends. Judging by the large number of people there, he was loved by many.1 point

I've got 3 shows in the pipeline at the moment. Harrogate, 11th May, Thornes Park, Wakefield, 5th July, Walton, Wakefield, 14th July. Nothing booked in at the moment but I'll be getting details later. Put the dates in your diaries, phone, back of a cornflakes box or wherever you keep your important information.1 point
