2mm thick external grade 316 stainless steel, mine has survived multiple euro wasp impacts at circa 115mph at the Nordschleife without damage 😁2 points

As per the title, brian james clubman trailer, its the perfect size for a Westfield. Had new tyres 12 months ago, it tows well and is a nice little trailer! I've had an mx5 on it but I'll be honest it's a squeeze to fit one on! I no longer have a tow bar and I've not used it much so seems a bit pointless to keep holding onto it! Located near worcester, after £1250 for it. A frame box doesn't come with the trailer neither does the car.1 point

Had a ball yesterday; over 200 miles around Exmoor, expertly led by Adge who did a fantastic job organising and planning the route for the Dorset area. A few gate crashers including me from Devon & Somerset and Bristol joined to make eight cars (seven Westies and a very rapidly pedalled Mini van!), with an eighth Westie finding us for a while in Bude. Starting at Ralegh’s Cross Inn, we headed across to Bude for a stop at Widemouth bay, then up to Lynton and finally back to Ralegh’s Cross. Generally the roads were pretty clear; a few slow bits behind tractors, stopping to let a herd of ponies cross but plenty of fast open sections too, great fun! I’ve recorded much of it on my Insta 360 so will post some videos up from that, but here are some pics in the meantime. The guys are out for more fun today so I’m sure they will post up separately. Thanks again to Adge for organising, and to Chris, Rory and John for providing tools and help fixing my broken exhaust mount bobbin thingy! Temporary repair done by John to get me home today. 👍 Despite the warm weather, my temps stayed between 85 and 90 so the new rad and water pump etc are working well, and the brakes were fab with the new AP Racing master cylinder 👍. All in all, a grand day out; beautiful weather and great company. I do however need to learn that an ‘All you can eat’ full English Breakfast is not necessarily compatible with a narrow bodied Westfield 🤪 Leg 1 - Ralegh’s Cross to Widemouth Bay Leg 2 - Widemouth Bay to Lynton Leg Three - Lynton back to Ralegh’s Cross1 point

Likewise and I live by the sea, you only have to show a steel bolt to my air and it's brown in a hour or so, not a joke I did it once to test.1 point

I was going to suggest that but the ones that Marcus did were stainless steel as far as I could make out, never rusted put it that way. Unless of course ( and I'm not into them to know otherwise) they also can do metal now as well as plastic. Although I guess a plastic one well prepared and painted up would look cool.1 point

I wanted one as well and found this.... You'll just need to find someone willing to knock this up on a 3D printer 👍 Thank @Quinten for creating and putting out there to download 😎1 point

Parking is free, spaces cannot be reserved but there is plenty!1 point

Yep, my parents point blank refused to let me have a moped at 16 (Puch Maxi or FS1E back then), bought me an old Ford Corsair 1700 V4 with column gear change soon as I passed my test just after I was 17 though. Blew that up on the M5 😂1 point

Forgot to mention, albeit the 1.6 Ecoboost doesn't look that common in Westfields, people like SBD Motorsport and Gemzoe Motorsport are using it successfully on their cars, pushing it well over 300bhp. So they have a wide range of special parts if you need them1 point

Absolute steal for that money, can't believe it's still for sale. It's even got a full build thread:1 point

We don't have the equivalent on this side of the pond. The autocross we do here is much quicker and less technical. That said I'm guessing the auto test is damn fun. dave1 point

A rather down to earth lecture on Climate Change - and no its not all about getting rid of your fossil fuelled cars etc... Well not for quite some time at least...1 point

@Davemk1 I kept referring to Autotests before, it's not quite what you are doing, but here is what that discipline looks like here in the uk, I also mentioned I thought my car had been once a car for this, since I discovered the marks from "knob" thing ( I don't know its real name) on the steering wheel, my reverse lock out has been removed and the diff was welded, I now see why. Quite a few 7's in this .1 point

It is a lot of fun and it's also completely addictive. The cool thing is that it can be done in a reasonably small parking lot...the lot used in the video is only 450' x 250' (137 m x 76 m). The run in the video was just under 49 seconds and we got 8 runs in total for the day....only the best one counts for the final results. The top speed for my run was 99 kph (62 mph) so it's not very high speed but more than enough to get your full attention in a small space while constantly turning. If you ever get a chance I'd encourage you to give it a go! dave1 point

Oh cool, I got banned from riding bikes by my gran, who I had just moved in with, her father was killed on a bilke, so bikes were a no go. She did me a favour as I woulod not be here now had I kept the bikes. Not been on a bike since 1990.1 point

Passed in June 81. By 1984 I was a despatch rider. That lasted until 2004ish. I'm probably approaching 1 million miles in the saddle 'cos I still ride. I commute a bit less since Covid but for 10 years between 2011 and 2021 minus Covid my weekly commute was 400 miles. These days I'm at around 5000 miles a year on two wheels...1 point

Get the yoghurt and up the meds. I struggled with a bad back for about 7 years back in the 90's. It ended with a partial discectomy on L4/5. Problem solved. I still get backache after a long day but 2 Nurofen + and a good nights sleep and I'm right as rain.1 point

Compulsory Basic Training (motorbike test)? That takes me back a bit, lol , did that and passed, yay.1 point

Yes its the codeine that has caused it, I am now limiting the pain killers down to 2 a day, that appears to be the happy state, for lack of pain and , well normal erm, movements shall we say. LOL.1 point

Computer Basic Training? Compulsory Basic Training (motorbike test)? Or may stop looking at THOSE web sites...1 point

It’s at the rear, so you’re fine at the front. on the rear lower wishbones. The outer rear on each side has a rose joint, you wind in or out to adjust the rear toe in. The outer lower wishbone bushes opposite the rose joint are the ones that have to be metastic.1 point

@Marcus Barlow - Show and Events Co-ordinatorI booked direct for £98 (excludes breakfast) and is cancellable until the day before. Happy with that. I'm presuming you've sorted parking with them? Cos my booking says subject to availability1 point

The wheels on my Westie? If those are the ones you are asking about they are made in the USA and the company is "Real Racing Wheels". Mine are 13" x 10" and they weight 10 pounds each. Here's the link - https://www.realwheel.net/ dave1 point

a great day and thanks to all Devon and Dorset group making me feel so welcome. Really enjoyed trying some different roads, they were epic, incredible views. Special mention to Adge for organising and providing the port, cheese and "dog" biscuits😁. Must consider my outfit for next time.....double pink.... purely by coincidence....i think....lol. secretly though I think i nailed it!!!1 point

Heroic first trip! I think it took me two years to travel that many miles in mine. Only in year 3 did I venture onto the motorway, so was pleased to discover that as you say, the SEiGHT cruises quite happily there. (In my defence, there are no motorways in Dorset, so I have to go quite far out of my way to ever reach one.) I'm sure there'll be a convoy of Dorset/Somerset cars up to the summer meet and AGM at Malvern, so join us for that.1 point

That’s brilliant 🫶🏼 I only had to travel 50 miles to collect in June 23 after waiting 35 yrs, then I started to worry if it would be a “don’t meet your hero, moment!” How wrong could I have been - I have a permanent Cheshire Cat grin - not even a thunder storm on the M6 toll could remove it.1 point

Welcome from the Bristol team. There are a few of us around the area. We also have 2 WhatsApp groups, one for banter and help and another for blats and track days etc.1 point

Thank you for your kind words! It’s painful putting it on for that but needs must - it almost feels criminal due to the amount of work that’s gone into this. 😔0 points

Not Westfield but if there was no Westfield I would not become addicted to 7 tyoe cars - took first time to track my MNR Vortx Inboard with Honda CBR 1000 RR sc95. My first RHD car btw , not only that , maaany new things and impressions. Shortly - seems veeeery promising regarding driving properties, very stable, controlalble, feels like "wider" esp on rear than mine Westfield Aerorace. Also impressions when revving to almost 13 k rpm ... ouch:) But, to be not so good - after 2nd session - lower balljoint somehow pop up from wishbone, wishbobe "touched" rim and act as turner.0 points
