  4. Not sure if people are aware of this, but there will be a total solar eclipse visible in Northern Spain on 12th August 2026. It’s not the longest from there, only around 1.5 minutes of totality and quite low but should still be good. Mrs Stu, Lorna and I are thinking of driving down in the TToS and doing a bit of a European tour afterwards, but I thought that maybe for anyone planning a drive over to Europe for a few weeks tour it would make a worthwhile stop over for a day or two. It will be likely crazy busy, so sorting accommodation early would be necessary but these things don’t happen very often so it’s well worth making the trip. Some details here: https://nso.edu/for-public/eclipse-map-2026/#:~:text=The August 12%2C 2026 total,%2C Portugal%2C and northern Spain.

  7. Nice to meet you all! i want to present my westfield and show some pictures of the restoring process. I bought this car in 2022 from a guy in Asti (TO). Now the car is located in in Belluno (near Cortina or the Giau pass for example) It would be a pleasure for me to meet any member of wssc and show some of our beautiful mountain roads😁 the car it's a 2008 fw duratec 2.0 with wide track and throttle body. MT75 gearbox and sierra iopen diff. In the first pictures you can see that she was in a deplorable overall condition and a lack of basic general maintenance. since then I've done: full service (gearbox oil, diff oil, engine oil, fresh coolant) ECU tune and sweep test, the car now make around 170hp on 95 octane. We are far away from the hp alpha weber used to advertise on its ITB kit. Does anyone have the same ITB? New 55mm coolex radiator new steering bolts and steering lockstop (while turning left the wheel used to touch the body, now this doesn't happen anymore) installation of heater, wiper and windscreen replaced the straight exaust with the original one polished new 195/50 r15 hankook k120 new RCC seats new interior moquette new air filter corner weighting and wheels alinement fixed the stop light (brake pressure switch wasn't working anymore) rollbar painting I will also come to Malvern on sunday the next month, but I will reach Uk by ✈. https://1drv.ms/f/s!AiCTvxtbkYfcgatk1n4k5lfSbCQWtg?e=e2drSg

  11. Ciao Mattia @mTT97 Great to see your progress with your car. We've already been talking on FB as we didn't manage to meet last summer in Italy. We're heading back this year and we can talk at Malvern. It would be great to see you during our trip too. You're right in the centre of our proposed 'play ground'-

  13. Car show at The Griffin, Swithland. Great fun; cars, beer and pizza. What’s not to like? Car ran faultlessly too, super happy after all my wintering tinkering.

  14. This cool dude @Glynn Walters has done a very impressive job of fitting another 1.8 litre mk2.5 MX5 NB engine into his car, only this one has got a turbo fitted to it whoosh, it didn't overheat and nothing fell off, so Glynn was pleased to get some 'running in' miles done. Well engineered Glynn, for someone that works full time, you have really trapped on and got it done, in no time at all you are back out in Gnasher, great. Early bird got the worm, bagging the best parking spot The others soon lined up and after a closed A38, Stuart did make the mammoth journey to join us too, along with Mark and Sonia in the SLK. The museum's gathering was well attended and also included 'Morgans in May' With Tony in his tin top, and Dave and Andy having to scoot off, that left the rest of us to go on the run out, keeping a careful eye on the black clouds, thankfully we were blessed with sunshine all the way and even got home in the dry. In the absence of all 3 Andy's we kept up the tradition of supporting the local cake industry going at Hulme End. The monkeys tea party Parked at Hulme End I am sorry @Stuart that I didn't get a photo of your car, it was lovely to see you and let's hope it's easier for you next time. Tony @TM54, always lovely to see you and hope the lowered floor is a success. Lastly @Mark zawada, thank you for bringing Sonia, keep her warm and cover those ears and let's see you both on The Long Way North 2, you will make great memories together. Thanks for coming everyone, see you next time xxx

  15. Sorted. Just need to change the oil filter and fill him up and we are good. It was an almost perfect fit, just had to adjust a couple of the brackets. EDIT Just found the invoice for the original and it was 23 years old, so hadn’t done badly at all!

  18. Entirely not car related, but has been taking time away from fixing my car so now it’s done I can get the car sorted. We decorated my daughter’s playroom for her 10th birthday back in March and she was promised a desk, so I made this. Based around IKEA drawers salvaged from an old chest of drawers which has gone to the tip. All made from 12 and 18mm ply, drawer fronts refaced too to get rid of the MDF or whatever they use. I have finally taught myself how to use a router properly, and this project is the first not to have blood stains under the paintwork which I guess must be progress 🤣🤣
