Greetings all. It's been a very long time since I posted on here but I'm looking to return to Westfield ownership and am looking for one of my old cars. Back in 2002, I started to build a Megablade, cheered on / assisted by father. I'm a desk johnny and he was a clergyman so mechanical experience was limited. Suffice to say, rolling chassis stage was reached and little progress made beyond that point so I, rather strangely, donated the kit FOC to a more able friend and bought a factory built SEiGHT in BRG (registration J14457). This was delivered in December 2002 - cue much noise and fun. Unfortunately, due to a variety of circumstances, I parted company with the SEiGHT the following year. My father died at the end of November last year and it has returned my mind to Westfield ownership particularly the vehicle we enjoyed together. Trouble is, I have no idea where it has ended up. I do not know as to whom it was sold after me other than it appears to have been bought by a trader at auction then sold on to a third owner. It is still registered here in Jersey but that is all I know. I haven't seen it on the roads for at least 15 years and I cannot find any record in local hill climbs, sprints etc. So either it is sitting in a shed collecting cobwebs or it has been exported off island. So I thought I would reach out to the WSCC community to see if I could glean any information. If there are any local Jersey owners who might have come across the vehicle then I would be delighted to hear from you. Likewise, if anyone bought a SEiGHT that had previously been registered here then I would be keen to know! Any help much appreciated.2 points

Thanks, guys. I'm reading it as 3 owners in total - 2 previous plus current - which hopefully would be me, then trader, then current owner (whosoever and wheresoever they might be). I've spoken with the DVS (Jersey version of DVLA) who can only say the car remains active on their systems. But that simply means that the registration has not been returned to them which should have been done if it was transferred off island. All that can be said for definite is that it hasn't been scrapped locally which is one positive! Unfortunately, I wasn't involved in the mechanics of the sale so have no idea who the trader was! One thought I had was to see whether Westfield still had details of the VIN (unlikely with all the changes there) but I've asked the question just in case. That might then give a lead as to whether it has been in the UK.1 point

All I have to say on that is, ( and I have done this more than once myself) to either take pics ( video is even better ) of that memorable drive, and the next time you get itchy feet , just go back to that drive and remember how you felt and why you still own the car. End of sermon, lol.1 point

This cool dude @Glynn Walters has done a very impressive job of fitting another 1.8 litre mk2.5 MX5 NB engine into his car, only this one has got a turbo fitted to it whoosh, it didn't overheat and nothing fell off, so Glynn was pleased to get some 'running in' miles done. Well engineered Glynn, for someone that works full time, you have really trapped on and got it done, in no time at all you are back out in Gnasher, great. Early bird got the worm, bagging the best parking spot The others soon lined up and after a closed A38, Stuart did make the mammoth journey to join us too, along with Mark and Sonia in the SLK. The museum's gathering was well attended and also included 'Morgans in May' With Tony in his tin top, and Dave and Andy having to scoot off, that left the rest of us to go on the run out, keeping a careful eye on the black clouds, thankfully we were blessed with sunshine all the way and even got home in the dry. In the absence of all 3 Andy's we kept up the tradition of supporting the local cake industry going at Hulme End. The monkeys tea party Parked at Hulme End I am sorry @Stuart that I didn't get a photo of your car, it was lovely to see you and let's hope it's easier for you next time. Tony @TM54, always lovely to see you and hope the lowered floor is a success. Lastly @Mark zawada, thank you for bringing Sonia, keep her warm and cover those ears and let's see you both on The Long Way North 2, you will make great memories together. Thanks for coming everyone, see you next time xxx1 point

Really loving my time with the car (nearly 2 weeks in). Naturally helped by the perfectly timed change in the weather! Slowly building up my 'feel' of the car. The car always looked mega, came from a wonderful source and was also known via this club to be maintained on a no-expense-spared basis - but that hasn't stopped me wanting to build up my own trust in the cars abilities and reliability patterns. I've therefore been building up the length of my runs out, carrying out routine checks, and generally just gaining more confidence after each trip. Pleased to report it's been fantastic. Hot and cold starting is effortless, it's leak free, handles like a dream, and basically just a joy to own. Carried out a couple of small additions so far - a hard wired CTEK MXS and a small suction rear view mirror as I found I needed a bit more rear visibility aside from the side mirrors. Reactions are great aren't they! Always had positive reactions with cars such as the Elise in the past, but the amount of double-takes, point-and-stare reactions and thumbs up are on another level. Wife and kids currently having to draw straws on who's next to be the passenger, which is great as it's proving to be fun for everyone as I'd hoped for. Finally, a nice self indulgent pic to round off the post.1 point

I've had 48 cars in my tIme, and 28 motorbikes, and regret selling all but three of them. The three I don't regret - a Viva HC 1.8 (had the power of the 1.3 and the thirst of the 2.3), and a 1980 Honda Prelude and a 1980's Toyota Cressida, both of which had more bog than steel in their bodies (and I put more bog in to sell them both).1 point

Sorry I missed you off David, I'll check for others as well, but it will change the scores as I just used those in the WSCC class to score.1 point

Perfect weather for a Peaks run today! 9am just south of Derby with Ben, Dan, Lee, James, Paul and myself. Tim joined us as we were setting off. A quick stop north of Derby to collect new member Mark and we headed for the wide open spaces of Derbyshire! A good hours worth of fun B road blatting before landing at Monyash to find it rammed full of bikes! Having spent so many days out with @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative , the internal satnav kicked in and I diverted the long way round to the Bull 'i Thorn where Glynn joined us maming whooshing noises.... hopefully it's just his new turbo 😂 The Bull 'I Thorn used to be a regular haunt of ours but we hadn't been back since its reopening. Glad we did as the breakfasts were lovely and could sit out in the sunshine to stuff our faces! When everyone was suitably refreshed, the gang started to head their seperate ways so I took the opportunity to give Mark a sample of 9,000rpm with a quick passemger ride. Having come from bikes and owned some fast Porsches, Mark is already thinking about upgrades to his ITB'd Zetec 😂 Mark also fancied stretching the legs of his car a little now he was getting used to it, so the two of us had a more spirited little convoy on the way home until he peeled off near Derby. Cracking day out, hope you all had a laugh and got home safely 👍1 point

The National Kit Car Show, Three Counties Showground Malvern: Here's what happens on the biggest club stand of the show and some of the benefits of being a member Club Marquee & Gazebo Westfield Avenue parking Member Autojumble - buy and sell parts free of charge WSCC Scalextric WSCC PS4 Racing Sim Member's drop off area (helmets, coats and bags that you don’t want to carry around all day) AGM Saturday 16:00 to 17:00 Post AGM catered Hog Roast / BBQ / Sounds (with some beer/food supplied by the WSCC for club members) Display Cars 'Bonnets off' at midday on both day Manning the stand- We aim to ask volunteers to staff the club stand for two hours periods. The more volunteers the less we’ll all have to do. Use it as an opportunity to meet other members you wouldn’t normally meet. We typically need 20 volunteers per day to run all the various activities. This number allows us not to commit you to any more than a two hour stint. Meeters and Greeters- We are also looking to boost the number of meeters and greeters. This is important as Members and the public will need to: · Discuss the cars, membership · The meeters and greeters will also be assigned some organisational responsibilities (e.g. checking volunteers have arrived). Parking - We’ll have parking marshals to help you create Westfield Avenue and direct display cars into the marquee Gazebo or additional display areas. When you arrive to park up we ask that you follow the parking marshals directions as coordinating the placement of 150+ Westfields can be a little like herding cats. Cars for Sale- If you have a car for sale, please tell the marshals and they will direct you to the marquee or external Cars for sale area, where you will be able to park up and display your vehicle with a for sale sign. Tintop Parking- For tintops, vans and trailers, we aim to have parking near to the WSCC camp site. Further details on this will be made available closer to. Camping- Camping on the WSCC plot is available to all WSCC members. · Electricity hook-ups available · It can be a quiet place post show, so if you are the party type, the public area has more of a party atmosphere · Camping will be roped off and monitored by WSCC Members. WSCC Annual General Meeting (AGM)- The club’s AGM will be held on Saturday 1st June at 4.00pm The venue for the AGM will be the WSCC marquee, please make every effort to attend, it's your Club and the AGM is the opportunity for you to tell the Committee and your fellow Members what you think, what you want and what you don't like. We will be providing additional chairs for those members who wish to sit for the meeting and will be asking all non WSCC members to vacate the marquee prior to the AGM. Please also keep all exterior noise down whilst the AGM is underway. Saturday WSCC Members BBQ and Social- As per previous years we will be holding a Social for WSCC members and invited guests and will be providing food and beer. We have scheduled this straight after the AGM (5.30pm) in the hope that the attendees of the AGM will stay on if they are not camping over already. We will gladly BBQ food that members bring along in addition to the food we are supplying, which this year is a fully catered Hog Roast and some beer. If you are intending to join us Saturday evening and require any vegetarian options please bring this along and we will be happy to BBQ it Please note that this is an inclusive social, but it is for Members, Sponsors, Traders and invited guests only, please remember this and please note that we are required to keep noise to a reasonable level and not too late – after all, some of us need to get up early to get the show going again for you and the visiting public. What’s in it for ME…? All volunteers will get Water, Tea & Coffee throughout your stint, T-Shirt, evening BBQ, and the love and respect of your fellow Members. Free Gift for members who attend - This year The Club has some WSCC themed gifts, to be given out to members free on either/both day(s) on a first come, first served basis. Further info: showteam@wscc.co.uk Thanks for reading and we hope this convinces you to join up and visit the club at this great event. Show website : https://nationalkitcarshow.co.uk/1 point
