Don't see many of those these days. A very good Caterham. More than 450bhp/tonne and handles superbly. Could apparently outperform an R500 on the road!2 points

Its standard equipment in Alfa Romeos (at least in 156 and 166) . Great tool.2 points

Those are the same as mine. I would think they must still be available in 13s given how many 7s have them. I'll have a dig around see if I can find any online.1 point

The car is not 30years old yet Ive run the reg and it was registered 1998 so its 4 years short at the moment1 point

Any 7 type car over 30 yrs is easy to import for the French, and 7 type cars are gaining in popularity over there, pushing the prices up. A much more modern type westfield cannot be imported into France IIRC1 point

When I first started competing with the VSCC 25 years ago I never knew more than 10 days before the event if I had an entry. Fortunately things have moved on and the greater majority of clubs confirm the entry within a few days giving me the chance to organise myself. So far I have a receipt for my payment for the Blyton sprint, so I assume I have an entry. I had a talk with David Taylor about this at Anglesey and he took the time to explain the situation which I can understand to a certain extent. But I would have thought a club that is run as professionally as Longton would not have fallen into the trap of being dependant on one individual, and even if they had, would have recovered by now. I'm looking forward to the sprint, the best part of it is at 6.30am walking the track and seeing and hearing all the sky larks, I have never seen so many in one place.1 point

Welcome to the Westfield family @SteveG, looks you've got a great car there. Hope to catch up with you at one of the local meetings very soon. Don't forget the Warwickshire Area meets at the Falcon, Birmingham Road, Hatton, CV35 7HA, from 7.30pm, 3rd Thursday of the month.1 point

Thank you Karl, that's much appreciated. It will definitely be looked after under my ownership too. No questions at the moment, but appreciate the offer. Hope you're enjoying your new one too?1 point

I’ve been quiet on this thread for the last few months, mainly because there had been some suggestion that the regulations would change for this year so I waited for entries to open earlier this month before investing too much in the build. That don’t stop me drawing though and gathering a few of the parts need for the build. One part I did buy over winter was a body to make the sidecar. I’d looked at various things such as pedal bins and water butts but in the end I found an eBay seller local to me who made fibreglass tote Tot-Rod bodies. The cost wasn’t much more than a pedal bin would be and it would save me a lot of fabrication work. With that sorted I moved on to finalising the sidecar drawings, I’d initially looked to mount the pivot low to minimise tyre scrub but since the course is straight and the turns are minimal I instead settled on a high pivot as it would simplify the construction. The sidecar frame itself is quite crude but I wanted to keep the design of it simple and the weight down. Finally to get the BMX looking more like a motorcycle I modelled an engine. This will also double as a mount for the sidecar and also stop the crank arms from rotating. This week I stripped the BMX down and it got a rattle can finish in Red and Black while I wait for the laser cut parts to arrive so I can fabricate the sidecar. Finally my trusty companion Gromit who will be riding alongside me.1 point

Got out with my mate Damo yesterday, me in the Flying Carrot him in his SDR V-Storm lunatic machine. Went to 5 Zeros Supercars Bradford-On-Avon for lunch, then had a nice shortish blat to Castle Combe race circuit where we drove the perimeter road to meet a mate who was marshaling a bike track day. No great pics but a great day full of laughs and silliness.1 point

Well according to their website they definitely don't do 13s anymore. Mad idea. I'd better look after mine then.0 points
