As Andy said, a brilliant day out, that is one good route up there on the tops of Buxton especially in this clear air. It is Drive it Day today so it was great to see so many unusual cars on the roads too. We met at Cupola The Westfield's started gathering All the other cars were blue today, even Billy's Porche is blue The motorbikes have now discovered this new venue Bonnet's soon came off as the advice flowed After breakfast (thank you for the black pudding ABC)we set off and had a great time on the twisties of Buxton before relaxing on the final mile or so behind the inevitable wobblebox to land at Quacker's cafe. In the car park at Quacker's were the Jaguar Club, making for a wonderful display. This car is a SS100, well, we don't think it is actually, we think it is made of fibreglass so it's definitely not a 1939 car. I was a interested in the name, the SS stands for Swallow Sidecar (SS Cars Ltd used to build sidecars) and 100 is the theorectical maximum speed. It was a beautiful looking car and I think it was probably brand new, it looked it. Lunch at Quackers Apology for the rubbish photo, someone forgot her camera so it was all done from my phone, the breakfast one in Cupola was even worse, grrrrr. Let us know how your daughter went on in the London Marathon @ianali and the other Ian @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AOon the parade in Windsor, how exciting. Thanks for coming everyone, hope you have enjoyed your cars as much as we have, see you next time xxx6 points

For sale is my lovely Westfield 1700 Crossflow with twin webber 45โs, finished in Audi Nardo Grey. It underwent a full restoration in 2017 with a new carpeted interior, Williams harnesses, sports bucket seat, team dynamics wheels with Kumho v700 tyres amogst other things. All work is documented with receipts in the service history file. It was then repainted in Audi Nardo Grey in 2022 as part of a covid lockdown project. Itโs a real head turner and I very often chat to passers by who fall in love with how it looks and sounds. A bit about the spec: Current mileage on the odometer is 2437 miles 1700 Ford Crossflow with twin webber 45 carbs Type 9 5-speed gearbox Sports exhaust SPAX coilovers Team Dynamics 13โ alloys Kumho v700 tyres Sports seats with Williams harnesses. Weber throttle linkage Reconditioned Lucas starter motors with new internals To the best of my knowledge it has a Sierra/Westfield rear diff MOT is valid until June 16th 2024. Side doors included Wet weather hood included (but needs poppers installing to be able to use it) Seat runners included but not fitted (I am tall so have the seat bolted to the floor as far back as it goes. I installed a new Weber throttle linkage last Autumn before she went away for the winter, and since this upgrade it would benefit from a carb tune up to get it running its best. I sadly donโt have the skills or time. I have adjusted the asking price accordingly. In my ownership I have also had the Lucas starter motor rebuilt. If you are new to 7 cars donโt be put off by the xflow option. The car has a little over 100bhp so it goes well, but most of all itโs an authentic experience and the carbs sound wonderful. The car is the closest thing Iโve driven to a kart. It handles like itโs on rails. Iโve owned it for 2 years and Iโm selling the car as I have a young family and I now need something that I can throw the kids in the back at the weekends. If anyone had a Mini Cooper JCW R56 or F56 Iโd be interested in a px. Thanks all. Any other questions just ask. Dave 077733 09841 dave_clow00@yahoo.co.uk5 points

Entirely not car related, but has been taking time away from fixing my car so now itโs done I can get the car sorted. We decorated my daughterโs playroom for her 10th birthday back in March and she was promised a desk, so I made this. Based around IKEA drawers salvaged from an old chest of drawers which has gone to the tip. All made from 12 and 18mm ply, drawer fronts refaced too to get rid of the MDF or whatever they use. I have finally taught myself how to use a router properly, and this project is the first not to have blood stains under the paintwork which I guess must be progress ๐คฃ๐คฃ4 points

You could sling a nice lightweight battery in while you're at it Chris. My new Jack Webb Motorsport one is just over 1ยฝkgs! A really good weight saving on the one you have in it by the looks of it.2 points

Successful Sprint car with V5 doc and Motorsport UK passport The car os powered by a Honda CBR 1000RR fireblade with John McGuiness engine (SC59) producing 194 bhp at the rear wheels and it revs to 14000rpm. It maybe the lightest independent wide bodied sprint BEC Westfield weighing 403Kgs. It has lots of carbon fibre parts including full flat floor, carbon mods nose cone, carbon mods bonnet, carbon boot cover, carbon tunnel cover, carbon half doors, carbon rear diffuser etc. I have owned this car for the last 10 years running in non road going classes and set class records, had several FTDs, won the Speed Series championship twice ( 2021 and 2022) and hold several circuit track records. It was previously owned by Andy Rushworth (CAT Motorsport) and with a Blackbird engine he won the Championship twice in Road going classes. The car has removable QR Sparco steering wheel, AB performance alloy paddle shift and rod system with clutchless upshifts using HM quickshifter as well as a slipper clutch for down shifts. The driverโs seat is GRP and has 6 point harness (it will also have a passenger seat and belts โ not fitted ), battery is a new Powerlite PS12, and brake pads are Mintex M1144 giving amazing stopping power. The car also has a 7โ 3.62 sierra viscous LSD, sprint fuel tank with built in fuel pump, Raceleda alloy uprights on the front with Hi Spec 4pot brakes well as Siltech wide track wishbones (+35mm). The car has double adjusting protech shocks all round, an escort 2.4 ratio quick rack, lightweight BEC front and rear ARBs, short steering arms, lightened discs etc. Rims are Force split rims with fronts of 8" and rears are 9.5" (or 10" fitted with spare inners)". The tyres are old used Avon radial sprint slicks sizes 195/530/13 and 230/55/13. The car has a dedicated Kit ECU as well as a spare standard plug in ECU and is linked to a power commander 5 using a bespoke harness by AB Performance. A Ractechnology 2 dash records RPM, oil temp and pressure, water temp , battery voltage etc. Water circulation is by Davies Craig electric water pump and a polo radiator. exhaust system is AB performance latest design of fireblade exhaust manifold and silencer filled with acoustafil packing. The engine is fitted with the popular AB performance baffled shallow sump and has the manual cam chain adjuster modification. The car will come with lots of spare engine parts including rectifier, set of spare coil sticks, set of surface discharge plugs, wiring harness and connectors, crank sensor and cam sensors, starter motor and fuel pump. There are also spare clutch assemblies, throttle bodies, pistons, con rods, standard camshafts and lots more. This really is the full monty and a seriously fast, well set up car that is easy to drive quickly. I also have lots of technical sheets for set up and parts including specific wiring diagrams. If you want to put this back on the road or in a road going sprint/hillclimb condition it has a V5 doc and will come with most of the parts including wiring loom, headlights , switches, gauges etc. (no handbrake or reverse gearbox) Quite a few action photos of my car are in the last few Westfield World Mags. I have lots of data sheets etc including wiring diagrams, set up suppliers and invoices. Price reduced to ยฃ14250 If interested please contact me for more information and pictures/videos etc If interested or want to discuss price please contact me for more information and pictures/videos etc1 point

Unfortunately, due to circumstances outside of my control this event will not be happening! Hi everyone, the first of our usual two track days per year is on Friday, 24th May 2024. The format for this event will be the same as in previous years. Please read all of the details below and contact me as requested please. Also, please read the following disclaimer: ** To save the WSCC from any liability issues I have to let you know that the Curborough track days have been booked by Warwickshire Area Organisers independently (as they have been for the last 15 years) and are not therefore organised or sanctioned by the Westfield Sports Car Club. ** As usual we are keeping it to only 15 cars, with first choice on the limited number of places to Warwickshire Area WSCC members, then followed by the wider WSCC membership. If all the places are not filled, I will post it on the Warwickshire Area Facebook page and accept non-WSCC members to make up the numbers. I have arranged to have the on-site cafe provide us with food and drinks for the day. Clearly there is an additional cost for this, so the fee has been adjusted accordingly. As with all things at the moment, the costs have gone up again, therefore it will be ยฃ100 per car/driver, if all 15 places are filled. Any additional driver/passenger will be ยฃ16 to cover food (if required). I intend to open the gates around 9am, the track will open at 10am, with lunch from 1pm until 2pm and finishing at 5pm. The proposed fee will cover all the costs but any surplus will be donated to the appropriate WSCC charity (Air Ambulance). However, if we cannot fill all the places then I will have to ask for additional funds to cover the cost of the hire. Ideally, I would like to see all monies paid by the 17th May. These track days are often oversubscribed therefore we will keep a reserve list in case of last minute withdrawals, but if places are not filled, refunds for non-attendance cannot be guaranteed. Please follow the instructions below; 1. Send me a PM with your full name, an email address and a mobile number 2. Pay the full balance by bank transfer to the details I return to you, ASAP please 3. Read the menu below and indicate a lunch preference Menu Breakfast - bacon & egg or sausage & egg sandwiches Lunch - Burger & chips or curry & chips Drinks - tea, coffee & squash available all day (Other items may be purchased from the cafe on the day) Finally, due to the requirements of managing the track entrance I could do with at least one assistant who is prepared to attend and help with organising without driving or alternatively a few drivers to give up driving time to assist. Please message me if you wish to volunteer. This is always a great day and a safe way to explore the limits of your car and yourself with only one car on the circuit at a time. If you need any more information on this event, please don't hesitate to get in touch. I will add names to this list as they are booked: 1. Justin Lever 2. David Burr 3. Rob Hunter 4. Phil Dyke 5. Greg Penney 6. Nick Mucklow 7. Ian Heawood 8. Andy & Becky Gilbert 9. Hedley Bennett 10. Paul Medhurst 11. 12. 13. 14. 15. Reserves Pulled out:1 point

Not Westfield but definitely car related OSF fog light on wife's car not working. Should be a 5 minute job to change the bulb....... The only way to get to the back of the fog light unit is to remove the front bumper. Which also required removal of front wheels to allow the inner arch liners to be removed to get to the bumber fixings. Ministry of crap design. Once the bumber was removed I could get access to the unit and found that the earth had come off the lamp unit. So 3 hours of my life I won't get back but at least I know how the bumber comes off ๐1 point

Last time I did this type of thing, which was a couple of years ago, I went to my local print store. I was able to make sure they understood the requirements and they did a sample/proof before the full run to enaure it was right. For me this was much better than a point and click purchase.1 point

Oh, that's just like me the other day when I needed the loo, forgot my phone, was trying to follow the SatNav directions and had my co-driver shouting in my ear...1 point

Got out with my mate Damo yesterday, me in the Flying Carrot him in his SDR V-Storm lunatic machine. Went to 5 Zeros Supercars Bradford-On-Avon for lunch, then had a nice shortish blat to Castle Combe race circuit where we drove the perimeter road to meet a mate who was marshaling a bike track day. No great pics but a great day full of laughs and silliness.1 point
