  1. What a beautiful day! Hopefully the weather gods are starting to play nicely! I met up with Ben, Steve, Vicky, Colin and Gavin at the A38/A50 services just after 9am for a chat a kick of the tyres. Rather than do the boring A38, I'd decided to take us down some of the brilliant South Derbyshire B roads. Sadly, everyone's grandmother in a Kia Picanto or Ford Ka seemed to conspire against any brisk progress ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. At least it was warm and dry and the scenery was nice. We had plenty of friendly waves, hoots and headlight flashing from passes by as the convoy headed south through the villages, it's great to put a smile on people's faces! Landing at the Curburgring we found a nice GBS Zero to park next to and were then joined by Matt who lives locally and Quinten who'd driven up from Northamptonshire! Nick was also there in his Striker but he had already started on the bacon sandwiches... Tony, Hedley, Iain, Rachael and Ian had also joined us in their tintops. A shot of Quintens unique SEIGHT on its lovely steelies next to Matts Sport 250 with gold Minilites.... really brings home how no two Westfields are the same! Nick's lovely new Striker. It's so small I could wear it as a shoe! Chris also joined us in his "tintop"... Sadly Chris and his wife have recently sold their "his and hers" Westfields due to unforeseen circumstances, so have replaced them with this! What a stunning machine and it sounds glorious ๐Ÿ˜ After a dose of caffeine and saturated fat along with a good chat we headed for the busy paddock. This annual meet is a real "seven" lovers paradise with so many lovely cars on display and being driven as they should be.... flat out! It's also the only Caterham Academy round that is free to watch so it would be rude not to come along. Really great to see everyone today, over a dozen members plus spouses and family members is an awesome turnout ๐Ÿ‘ Oh, and good luck to @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO who is running in the Potters 'Arf Marathon tomorrow.... you must be mad my friend! ๐Ÿ˜‚

  3. Sorry - got other high priority things going on so no time for full write up. Iโ€™ll do it as soon as I can but here are the photos in no particular order. In the meantime, thanks for everyone for coming. Lovely day out with good friends. All on my own at Quackers - it appears that the opportunity of a lay in was too much of a temptation and the others were at the next stop. Either way pleased to get there as my car had fuel starvation issues on the way. At the Great British Car Journey we met Mark with his brand new Westfield - much admired Didnโ€™t take a photo of @Andy Westwood car as it was not a Westfield!! Travelled to The Travellers Rest for dinner. Got somewhat photobombed by a luminous van. Then moved on the Baslow Cricket Club for the obligatory Peak District cake. Weather even held up. Brilliant. Fuel starvation again on the way home so not low fuel level in the tank. Time to look into a new fuel pump I think.

  6. What a lovely morning spend. Even the A5 was kind to us with plenty of dual carriageway sections to pass those pesky grandmothers in a Kia Picanto or Ford Ka . A bit windy but dry and a decent amount of sun, so much that I think I'm feeling my forehead already ๐Ÿคฃ Promise to meet up a couple of times this year, given that we're in a bit of a dull area ourselves ๐Ÿ‘ Good luck @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO tomorrow!

  7. We also seemingly had a "topless competition". Gavin and Colin have obviously been spending time at the gym so we're showing off.... The Mighty Pinto on webers, it's a heavily tuned lump that sounds awesome and pops and bangs like a teenagers Fiesta ST in a Tesco carpark ๐Ÿ˜ Gavin had spent ages taking the engine out and cleaning the car up before reinstalling a couple of weeks ago. Can you beat the look and noise of a tuned Redtop?

  10. Brilliant place to visit. I would recommend Great Longstone or Little Longstone. In the middle of most things - Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Heights of Abrahamโ€ฆ. Plus the glorious countryside.

  11. Hello all, With a heavy heart - I am putting my Westfield SEiW Sport 220 Ecoboost up for sale - Q900VAB. This is solely due to the funding of a personal business of mine, alongside this I havenโ€™t had too much opportunity to get it out of the garage. I purchased the vehicle through a former member and believe the car is well known and has been featured in a couple of magazines prior and was owned by Tim Reid. Since ownership, I have kept the vehicle the same - with regular maintanence. Recently back in February over to Northampton Motorsport for a full head to toe service alongside an MOT. It has been garaged since this period and covered in the garage. This is an absolute beast of a car with an amazing whistle of the turbo and wastegate make this car entertaining to drive and the sheer power can propel the lightweight car to high speed in seconds. At low RPM it can quietly pootle through villages with plenty of low down torque when you need to open it up. Originally a factory built limited edition (14 of 15) SEiW Sport featuring; independent suspension, wide body, detachable rear arches and floor mounted pedals. A registration, so easy to MOT with no emissions testing and no harder to insure than any other vehicle. The last owner owned the vehicle for 14 years prior to myself. Giving it great care and continually improving it. I took it on myself as something to simply enjoy with a hunger for something a little bit crazy! However unfortunately, no track days were had and time spent driving the car has been limited. There was a major rebuild to bring it up to date with a 16 Ecoboost engine (dual variable valve timing system, drive by wire throttle, Direct injection and turbocharged engine from a Fiesta ST180, as standard 220bhp on SCS Delta ECU but it can easily be increased and go up to 400bhp). Mazda N7 (MX5 Mk3) gearbox, AIM digital dash, full Siltech suspension set up including ARBs, micro adjusters, wide track. Big brake kit with bias adjustment, 3 piece image wheels. Lightweight alternatator, battery, bodywork and steering column. Quick release steering wheel, limited slip differential LSD, quick rack, lots of real carbon fibre including a number of customer parts which are extremely rare. The vehicle was weighed in at 584kg down from 740kg but should be a little less - I havenโ€™t had it weighed recently. The previous owner of this really took care and attention to the build and you can feel it in the drive and see from the pictures. And mentioned prior the vehicle was featured in National Kit Car magazine and always gets positive attention wherever you go! Servicing has been done annually regardless of how few miles were driven. Please note the comments on the MOT records: - 1996-2005 = Pre DVLA online records but you can see whatโ€™s in the huge folder which will come with the car. - June 2006 = 9343 miles - June 2007 = 10,674 miles - June 2008 = unknown (not read by the MOT tester but 12,000 miles) - July 2009 = new Zetec engine installed at 14,151 miles with new odometer showing 0 miles. MOT shows 16 miles. DVLA informed. - July 2010 = 12,140 (MOT tester misread the odometer! Was actually 1,214 miles as confirmed by subsequent and previous years). - June 2011 = 24,842 miles (MOT tester misread the odometer! Was actually 2,482 miles as confirmed by previous and subsequent years). - July 2012 = 3236 miles - July 2013 = 3982 miles - July 2014 = 4904 miles - July 2015 = 5396 miles - August 2016 = 6214 miles - 2017 off road due to rebuild - 2018 off road due to rebuild - September 2019 - 3 miles due to new Ecoboost engine and Mazda gearbox. DVLA informed. - August 2020 = 382 miles - August 2021 = 1045 miles - 2022 = off road SORN (I believe) - March 2023 = 1508 miles - Vehicle purchased by myself in May 2023 It has now peaked over 2000 miles will need to confirm this and update the advert! However, there is a HUGE arch leaver of every receipt, drawing of wiring loom, pluming diagrams, and the rebuild is published for all to see on WSCC. The car was originally stored in a garage its entire life and had a dehumidifier running for the past 10 years. I have continued on with this since my ownership. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding the car itself and Iโ€™ll be sure that I answer them for you. I am looking for ยฃ16,850.00 o.n.o. Please donโ€™t hesitate to get in contact. Viewings can be arranged if serious buyer.

  13. The East Anglia region is holding a maintenance/technical day on April 13th which will be covering many aspects of Westfield ownership. It is taking place at Old Buckenham airfield in Norfolk starting at around 10.30am and there is a cafe on site to keep us going. Martin will be along soon with more details.

  18. I bought my SEIW cage direct from caged laser. It didn't come with fitting instructions, so suspect none are available. But to be honest it's not difficult. If it helps, it's a 2 person job ideally, could do it on your own, but not easy. The side protection bars are supplied as bolt in, but I welded mine. Didn't fancy drilling the chassis rails and felt they would be stronger welded. Otherwise take your time, dry fit the cage a couple of time before you drill the bolt holes to attach and all should be fine. I done mine in a leisurely weekend.

  19. I use Fusso coat soft 99 on all my cars. Never seen anything repel water like this stuff, I am off the opinion that itโ€™s better than ceramic as there is no streaking if you donโ€™t dry it off totally.

  24. Just spotted this thread. Iโ€™m a fairly new member and live in the Cotswolds - not far from nettleton Bottom and the air balloon actually! Lots of pubs have closed of late but if anyone wants advice on others in the area let me know. My new purchase went pop on first outing so currently amassing parts to get it on the road again so wonโ€™t be out for a few months yet ๐Ÿซ

  26. I was asking on Facebook only last week about a Worcestershire based meet? Would love to find a spot in the Cotswolds to get together. Somewhere near Morton in Marsh, Stow etc would give us a good run perhaps?
