  2. Time for a related confession… Years ago now, a member who shall remain nameless was publicly obsessed with his point count and hitting the next level, posting a load of nonsense just to hit target. Those of you who know me will understand why I did what I did next…😇 I went backstage several times in the space of three hours and kept knocking 10 off his post count, so that every time he got near to target, he suffered a setback. Now most of you would have smelled a rat at this point, but not our friend. He was furious and contacted the webmaster (at my suggestion). Sadly for him, the webmaster was in on it too, and claimed nothing was amiss. Our friend’s fury was most amusing indeed, and he finally did hit his target the next day, although he fumed for several days that he had been cheated. Wrong - he’d been robbed. 😇 (I added the points back in a week later.) The lessons: > Point levels on member accounts can be fiddled by motivated admins > Never show your weaknesses in front of me > I don’t kick people when they’re down - just when they’re not looking > I’m more devious than you ever realised 🤣

  4. Cars ready, me and Ali are ready… but…unfortunately we are babysitting this thing for our daughter. Suppose we could shove her in the boot and bring her up to meet Glen. I know he would just love to meet her 😊. Have a great day and see you next week or two I hope.

  5. Actually, it shows that a few of us are highly opinionated / experienced / unable to stop talking (delete as appropriate) and most of the others sit back and admire / recoil / write complaints (delete as appropriate). Also, 252 x 500 = 126,000 posts… quite a lot when you think of it!

  7. It was a relief that @Andy Westwood didn’t turn up to the trip out after my ‘significant’ birthday as I wouldn’t have been able to afford the cake bill!!

  13. I would just like to thank people for the positive way my post was received! It was a shame the car sold so cheap as it was a nice car to drive. In the end the winning bidder failed to complete and a local guy was the underbidder and 3 weeks later the deal was done and the new owner was definitely both keen and happy. I haven’t met the guy yet but I think I will. When I do as with myself I shall point him to the WSCC.

  20. Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. It didn't really feel like my birthday yesterday as I was out with workmates celebrating a retirement in York. We had a good night and I got home relatively sober, ish.

  22. what the devil……….. first run out for us in 2024 and it’s meeting at 9:30 up North !! Excuse Becky if she’s still in her PJ’s, but I’ve still got to check if the car runs ok after having it in bits over the winter , all being well we’ll be there probably looking tired and cold 🤣

  23. With only a week to go before the first event, here's your updated list of runners and riders for the 2024 WSCC Speed Series: Updates will follow as more enter, or if any entrants are scratched due to coming up lame, refusing to take a jump. or breaking a fetlock and needing to be put down behind a screen. (I've got the right sport, haven't I?) (Seems odd and wrong that Terry and Stephen aren't on the list, though...)

  25. I was asking on Facebook only last week about a Worcestershire based meet? Would love to find a spot in the Cotswolds to get together. Somewhere near Morton in Marsh, Stow etc would give us a good run perhaps?
