We met at Quackers cafe car park, Bagpuss had a white nose cone because the pink one is off for 😮 cosmetic repair, Dan bought his other car out which was only a TVR with a 5 litre Rover V8 engine👍, Jake in his lovely Tiger 🤩, Steve and Vikki had purchased their old Westfield back much to our delight because it was such a great car 👍and Billy quietly 😁 appeared in his Tesla. We went into the cafe for a warm and breakfast We set off down the access road out of Quackers, so not at speed, and Jake's car let go, bang, spin and into a fence post. It was shocking, on the public road it could have been a very nasty accident and all our sympathies go out to Jake. One of the bolts on the upright had sheared. Once Jake had arranged recovery and we thought that he was as ok as he could be after such an event, we carried on with our day, poor @Jakejmagee, we feel for you and if you need any help/advice then us/here/this forum is the place to ask for it. We took a good run out on a mixture of high ground with great views and some good driving roads, landing us right back at Bakewell and at Thornbridge Brewery where we went into The Tap Room. Car park at Thornbridge Brewery The beer flowed, some of it real stuff and some of it, myself included on Zero Five which is 0.5% strength, although it was ok, it just isn't the same and I would have a Jaipur Indian Pale Ale over it anyday. Cheers! The pizza is freshly made and you could tell, it was excellent. @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO not content with having Peak District hills and chocolate named after him, he also has his own beer, look at this 8.4% too! Mad, the man himself The driving, company and venues have all been excellent but we felt for Jake and we wish him well.2 points

Sport 250 ordered December 2021, chassis kit picked up Feb 2022 and body kit picked up April 2022. Built during 2022/2023 . Passed IVA first time September 2023. Now on the road, Total cost £33000, any ideas as to what it might be worth now ?1 point

As somebody else as said lucky he wasn’t on the main road. It looks to me the hellicoils are too short, only about half the bolt thread in the hellicoil, different lengths are available to obtain the correct strength.1 point

That looks nasty, hope he's ok and the car isn't too beaten. Might be good to also talk with the guys at Tiger to check if they had other similar failures, and if new uprights are stronger. If Tiger cars use the same Cortina geometry, then I think he can use Westfield uprights, while if they use Sierra stuff, MK have some nice solutions.1 point

colour? wheels? brakes? seats? bodywork style? diff? what sump is fitted? what Ecu is fitted? what roll bar is fitted or full cage? shocks? All the above can affect the price of the car some a lot more than others so without the full spec we are all shooting a bit in the dark and it depends how you want to sell the car to a dealer or private .1 point

As with any new car, drive it off the forecourt and you lose money. As much as we all love and enjoy Westfields, they are rarely an investment to make profit, they're a kit car. Yes, perhaps some old pre-lits may make some profit or break even, but it needs a serious enthusiast to want it. At 33K expenditure, even with a 23 year plate (non Q) you will possibly not see any + return or break even, sorry be prepared to take a hit, if you were to total up man hours to undertake the build it adds even more to your overall cost, but that's what we have all done, its the enjoyment and pride at the achievement. Sadly when we sell our Westfields we only get what someone is willing to pay, you can get a wide choice of fun sports cars for 25k in Autotrader, that are far more practical. Sorry for the killjoy mode.1 point

Difficult to answer with so many variables, these cars they're worth what somebody will pay based on spec/desirability, also how quickly a sale is required. A 22 plate with 90 odd miles on it was advertised by a trader for £25k, maybe that could be used as benchmark bearing in mind he probably had £3k profit on it.1 point
